Thirst is about a priest who volunteers for a medical experiment, and when the experiment goes wrong, he finds himself changing into a vampire-like psycho. The movie features a South Korean actor namedKang-ho Song, who is to director Park what Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio are to Martin Scorsese, and who is great in Park's other films. Already released in South Korea and having played this year's Cannes Film Festival, Thirst will see limited US theatrical distribution on July 31st, 2009. Which means folks in New York and LA (and maybe Chicago) will get to see this flick first, before it possibly expands to other markets.
