Perhaps another site should be opened for the teens. Age 13-17 on that one and 18 and up on this one.

18+ here then have another site for under 18, or an opp like myspace has were under 18 can't view or contact your profile would be nice

like with myspace the age option only works if you volunteer your real age. . two seperate sites would be a good idea but there would still be those who lie and sneak on

The Dark Network would lose more than half of its members if the site suddenly changed its age. Also, this is not a porn site so 18 or older is not necessary.

i think even if there was a teen VR, it would have to have a different set up because if it is split like that, i seriously doubt many would care about the DB and such.

I dissagree ok it's not a porn site but it is a site dedicated to Vampires and Vampires (the ones we most love anyway) are sexual beings and it sometimes follows that fans of Vampires are also that way inclined (moi for one lol) So it would be nice if we could be a bit more free with the content of our pro's and ports...

If I had found this page when I was 13, many moons ago, I would have been just as interested then as now. I see no reason to restrict access.

This conversation would be less relevent if Vampires were not so popular right now, and I see no reason to make a headstrong change because of a few years of massive public interest.

The popularity of Vampires in 2008/09 will be documented by someone in the database as a phase, and the rest of us will go on; at which point the youth will be less sparkly/ICP/emo/goth, what-have-you, and hopefully more serious.

My point is that there are many people here, just because it is popular... and it is not only 13 year old girls, and guys trying to "get wit", that fall into the catagory of fluff.

Rather then creating a whole new website for 13- , if you really want more freedom of expression on profiles/portfolios , a warning before visiting profiles/port. could be implemented .
That way , anyone who stated they're under 18 will simply not be allowed to view the page , everyone else will see a warning and choose whether or not to view it .
It would allow more freedom regarding what is allowed on profiles , coupled with harsher sanctions if the person forgets to click the box that says "18+ content" would result in happier 18+ year olds ?

Just leave it be if you dont like to get messaged by 16 years old or younger just ignore there messages and dont messsage them

I agree with Web. I've been here since i was 13 and thats 3 years ago and i love vampires, i don't see why we should be banned if we're under 18. This site has nothing bad on it that the site could be cosidered "unsuitable" for under 18's.

If you don't want to be messaged by anyone under the age of 18 fine put it on your pro then. I have come across profiles saying they don't want to be messaged by under 18's and i don't message and i don't talk to them. Unless of course they talk to me.

I'm sure Cancer had a good reason to mage the minimum age 13, to change it would be unfair. I paid my money for a premium membership like a lot of you and it would be unfair if the age limit was changed to over 18's.

As some have said a warning should be put on the site to say if you are younger than 18 some profiles might contain things that are unsuitable.

TDN is not an adult site. It is not a porn site. There is no reason for it to be 18+ or even think so.Some of our administrative team (Prophecy, Kashka, artemka) are minors and have been on here for years. No reason to kick them off.

This is not a porn site, nor a BDSM site, nor a dating site. It is a Vampire database/social network. There is no need to put the teenagers into a playpen either to keep them away from the "big kids". These teens have as much right to be heard as we do and I for one would not want to miss out on a bright young insightful mind just because some guy who thinks he is a Dom wants to be able to post smut with his girl.
