The next VR contest starts in about 6 hours. It begins at 9pm EST (-5 GMT) / 6pm PST (-8 GMT). The prize is a Dark Network Lifetime Premium Membership. If you win and are already a lifetime member, you can gift the prize, or apply it to a second (possibly new) Dark Network account.
The contest involves several stages and puzzles. As you progress through the stages it becomes more and more difficult. You can pause/stop at anytime. When you return, you pick up where you left off.
My goal was to make the contest last for 3 to 5 days, but these things are difficult to predict. The contest could run longer (if I made it too hard) or shorter (if I made it too easy).
This thread will be tightly moderated. It exists primarily for contest issues. No clues will be given, no help will be given, and whining about 'how hard it is' will be ignored. This contest was not designed to be easy. There is only 1 prize, and you all are competing against each other. Whoever reaches the end first, wins.
Due to the multiple layout system that now exists at Vampire Rave, I will not be integrating a contest link into any of the layouts. Instead, when the contest officially starts, I will be posting a link to the contest page within this thread, within a site news post, and I will send a system message to all members.

If you have trouble loading the video in stage 7, try pressing F5 to refresh your page.
You may need to give it a little bit to work. It definitely works in IE 6+ |

I am going to try and put together a few secondary contests for later this week. They won't be for Lifetime Memberships, but Vampire Rave merchandise. They'll also be less in depth. |

It's always night time somewhere. I have to look at where most VR members are located, then start contests during 'Prime Time' for those users.
Just because a contest starts at 9pm EST, that doesn't mean it's a good time for everyone in that time zone. Members may be working, or unable to log on at that time for a variety of reasons. The same is also true for members in the southern hemisphere.
9pm EST / 6pm PST is simply when *most* VR members are available. |

Thanks everybody :) It was challenging and I had to pull an all-nighter since I'm in Europe lol. But it was worth it and honeypot who I gifted it too is an awesome person and was worth the 6 hours of brain squishing.
I hope you don't mind me explaining how i did this Cancer, but for the algebra question, I'm not a math genius. Actually I totally suck at it lol, but I think he was missleading us on purpose :P
I dont have mine anymore but it looked kinda like this
6x2 + 12 -6x
now Cancers example said: 3 / -5
Well if there is only one x it should be just 1 number and not 2. So x = a number between 0 - 9 or -9 - 0. I just put in the number 1 and it was correct.
At least thats how I interpreted it, since I havent done any algebra since highschool lol
And for the 2nd contest, I wont try to win, but I will help friends :) well will even help people I dont know (not solving it for you, helping ;)), because I made several friends during the contest and thats the best part for me :) |

LOL.. yeah the math portion is fairly simple for Algebraic equations just make sure to get the variable ( x ) by itself. |

I had my friends helping me, the ones I live with.
They knew the picture of the artist and the architectural things and they were good at all of it but the math that's where we got stuck because I suck at math lol |

If you use the Quadratic Formula, you get a solution set -7, -6 |

Make sure you're putting '-7, -6' in and not '-7,-6'. The latter will fail. I think a lot of people were omitting the space. Or, putting in '-6, -7', which will also fail. |

I gave it one last shot and it finally worked. Didn't do anything different, guess the system just didn't want me to win. Oh well, at least I can go to bed knowing that I did have the right answer. |

Weffie,
The answer is Libya.
Libya got its independence (from England and France) on December 24, 1951, due to the help and efforts of the United Nations. |
