I'm awful at accurately describing myself, as I am probably quite biased. An outside opinion would probably be more accurate - but know one knows myself better than I do. I don't claim to know the Truth; I recognize that I am ignorant. That's the least I can say for myself - I am aware that I'm a fool.
I love art, music, writing, architecture, and all those artsy type things. For art, I like any medium, and most styles. For books, I read mostly fiction, of the non-mushy-romance-novel type, and I love poetry and abstract writing. Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, and Anne Rice are a must, among others I am very likely forgetting. (I'm very forgetful.) For architecture, Gothic/Victorian is my favorite type,
A few other things I am fond of; my bestie Ellie, (and my many online besties), the Macabre, staying up all night, winter days where it gets dark out early (and all the pretty dead trees), reading, writing, and drawing of course, and other languages. I have an unmistakable knack for them.
As to music, I lie a huge variety. Metal, Rock, Gothic, Classical, Indie, Reggae, Celtic... what I don't like is country (Johnny Cash is the only badass country guy), rap/hip-hop, and that celebrity pop stuff - they need a new genre name for that. Also don't like emo and screamo music.
I suppose I should list a few favorite bands. Tool and A Perfect Circle (Maynard James Keenan is a genius), Acid Bath and Agents of Oblivion and Deadboy & the Elephantman (all led by yet another genius, Dax Riggs), and Pink Floyd (a group of geniuses), Megadeth, the Grateful Dead, Enya, the Velvet Underground, Blutengel, Evanescence, the Doors, Within Temptation, the Cruxshadows, and the list goes on... and on....
A couple things I dislike:
- people who hurt animals (makes me want to murder someone violently)
- white supremacy
- rules and constrictions
- people who think they run your life
- injustice
- fake, shallow, plastic people. I like'm deep, thank you.
- Up-tight people. You're no fun.
Well that's me in a nutshell - I may elaborate still more.
