Chateau Orleans is a society dedicated to New Orleans and all it's references and history in regards to vampires, paranormality, and the city itself beyond. Pralines?

All I remember is the bathroom in the Spotted cat, rescuing dancers from trany strip joints and waking up on park benches with the mist rolling off of the missisippi.

Ok... well I do remember more than parts of just that one evening, I'm pretty sure there was a parade before any of that where I begged women to give me their shoe.

Pralines, Court of Two Sisters, gumbo, Oak Alley, the jazz (Presentation Hall??), Jackson Square, the cemetaries, the old houses with the wrought iron fences, rides on the Natchez and yes Bourbon Street....where as an 18 year old.....I had my mouth open and my face red for the entire visit.

I had NEVER seen female impersonators .....with snakes...before. They just are not to be found out in the open in the hills of Kentucky. LOL

I loved, LOVED my visit there. But now that I know more of the world, I hope to return and enjoy it more.

Keep it up guys... you're giving members reasons to get excited about what we can bring to them :)

I had always been curious about this Coven but now that it's a member of the Anthropoda Alliance, I have no need to leave House Eternal and petition Chateau Orleans for induction, but if I had to, it would be worthwhile. ;)

Oh, this was suposed to be about vampires...

Did I mention that that night (best damn friday ever) was also fetish night at the Dungeon; the hot sexy goth bartender was behind the wall of skulls, so I spent alot of that night talking to a rather sketchy local vampire... the indentations lasted almost a month.
Silly vampire... that's what lancets are for.

The Coven also provides a free virtual tour...so see the sights from your comfy chair.

When I visited, there was so much to see and so little time.

There was history, art, entertainment, nature, and anything else really that would interest you.

I loved hearing all about the history of the places. Voodoo, Santorini, Christian, etc....a mishmash of religions that seemed to meld and work well together.

And the pralines........mmmmmmmmmmmm.

It's got to be like a little bit of New Orleans friendship and fun right here on VR. :)

Yup...recipes. There's even one in there for gator balls :)

I enjoy the fact that I can stay eternal and wonder over to see the tour of NOLA within your coven. Please should really check it out more. The recipes are awesome and the company is the bumb........

I took them out (the virtual tours) when you left last time because I didn't want the coven to stake claim to them without you around :(

opps yes that is what I meant .... please forgive. One of the things that I truly do enjoy within your coven is the feeling of being home or belonging that is there. :)

I really wasn't too worried about who laid claim to them...They were for public view and the Coven was the perfect place for them. So the html is gone then, eh?

I don't think I saved it anywhere, because it didn't belong to me. I am glad you are telling me we could have kept them, but there have been way too many instances in the past where former members weren't of the same mindset with other societies, so I was just trying to keep it all 'kosher'. I can never just assume it's okay to use someone else's work.

If you still have the text, I can take care of the html and we can just link the articles to your profile.

Eh, I might resume with the project another time. Never know what the future holds.

i remember watching the sunrise sitting at the cafe du monde...and drinking the best coffee of my life, and eatting benites (ok...i screwed that spelling)....
and then back to my room for sleep...well...fun first...then sleep.

I rather prefer Cafe Beignet to Cafe Du Monde, the beignets at Du Monde 75% of the time are burnt...as well, I loathe standing in line.

I wonder in there from time to time through our Alliance from Eternal. The people are great, the CM is amazing, and anyone who is apart of it would have fun.

If you're looking for an awesome Society, you really can't do better than Chateau Orleans. I have an alt account, Pygmalion, in there and I positively love it. I mean, it's one of the few Covens run by VR's own fantastic Regent, what's not to love about that? The people are great and the Forum is chock full of interesting things to read.

Plus, you're part of House Eternal's Alliance, Arthropoda. So you not only get CO, you've got access to six other fantastic Societies. Really, you can't find a better group than that. So, come on, come join us in Chateau Orleans! :]

Didn't make it down for the "Big Bash" but, there is nothing like Bourbon Street. If you've not been to New Orleans, then, there is no way to describe Bourbon Street. And that's such a small part of the city.

Make plans to go, and then make plans to go again and again and again.

This coven is a really great place. It has whetted my appetite even more to visit New Orleans, and luckily I can view a little bit of it right from here..the virtual tour is great!

I love this coven its relaxed, its fun and the Alliance means that there is a House and a whole load of other covens to be a part of too. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Gotta keep this fresh and present, check out this coven if you are tired of the same old/same old- and want quality company that will treat you as an equal.

This conversation is bringing back some great memories. Spent a month over the holidays there. As a joke when I left the hotel I asked to be put on a waiting list for Mardi Gras, know that since I waited until January, everything would be booked solid. The week before Mardi Gras, the hotel called and said they had an opening. To my great surprise and joy I ended up with a 3rd floor balcony suite at the corner of Bourbon & Toulouse. Invited a bunch of my local friends to a monster fat tuesday balcony party & we had a ball. As much fun as that was, I think my best memories are of going to see Smokey at CC's, then taking my coffee down to the square and haning out with my friends. (Most of them work down there) Will be moving to NOLA as soon as I am able. I'm so homesick :-).

Im not in the coven sorry . but I live here in the city myself . Nola street rat .gutter punk .quarter trash and been called more but you know This city has many wonderful things to offer and the coven here seems to have a nice projection of our city . and people like me names called or not have a nice way of showing people what my home town is like. so if you want a good coven chateau orleans has got my vote. the honesty i hear the truth and fact they say about my hometown show me they are some dedicated people and seem to be a wonderful enviroment for ne one who would like true guidance and proper friends and a place thats about truth .

I love new orleans i live in washington parish, so i'm not that far away if we could orchestrate some sort of event or gathering that would be phenomenal i'd be down.

I was a member of this coven a very long time ago, and I loved it; not only is the coven amazing it's a part of the best alliance.

This is one place I wouldn't mind checking out. The coven mistress is an awesome lady AND the topic just begs me to book a flight to New Orleans.

Love Love New Orleans!! I live close by (about a 30 min drive) Adore sitting on the River Walk and watching the steam boats.

If you are looking for a quality coven to join with a "laid back" atmosphere, a decent group of people, and the added perk of being in an awesome alliance which grants you access to tons of awesome covens then I suggest checking out chateau Orleans. That being said...the coven master is also the site regent, how freaking awesome is that? You should definitely join us.
