Between the age of 3 and 4, I first embraced what has become my life's philosophy or religion. Simply that God is love. I knew this as I sat in a crowded church with a group of people that seemed clueless. God surely would not be impressed by how arrogant or snooty you might be in your expensive monkey suit. There were things to learn, songs to be sung to ensure that God knew we loved him back. Why all the bullshit scowls and faces like there was something uncomfortable shoved deep in your ass. Maybe that is why I gave up on religious social clubs. I do miss communion, but every blessing of joy or love I see or feel is a reflection of God. I believe deeply in love. I guess I am a fool to not need a fancy building or a special name to interact with my God. A kiss from my wife, a hug from my son, a laugh from my father, all show me he is there watching. A life lived with love, joy, and heartfelt thanks is all I can hope to offer him. That and the laughter as I mess up. I hope you all find and enjoy the blessings you have. Happy Mother's day!

I believe too many people labor to prop up the illusions of control. I wasted so much of my life that way. Thankfully my wife and my son have taught me just how uncontrollable life can be. I now suffer daily from uncontrollable joy, love, laughter, and peace which I never dreamed possible. The chaos that is life can only be ridden and savored. There is no controlling it. Any of us could be gone tomorrow. I try to thank God each day for the uncontrollable blessings he gives me.
