I had not been on for a week and checking my messages there were all those birthday things from about 75 people I had never spoken to. So, I just did a mass message dump. Then I notice someone had gifted me with a year prem. So I have no idea who did it. Whoever did it... That was so nice! Thank you very, very much!

I actually don't remember the last day I was online, exactly. I've been at work (quite literally) every night, for the past nearly two weeks straight. Being where I currently am has turned my ass into a straight-up workaholic. Lol

I have been working on this painting for months and I finally finished it. I miss home, so I paint it. This is the zone thing I do to block out the world. I also am taking online art classes with a fantastic school that I got excepted into. I always think I can do better and of course I am my worst critique. I can finish a painting and look at it and see all the mistakes and things I can tweak. Now I am learning a hard lesson. When to put the paintbrush down and step back. To simply say, it's not perfect but I did my best.

@ Estranged, the thing is I always loved painting. However, I would love to pump up my chest and claim it's a rare talent but honestly, once you learn how to use a brush, how to blend colors, values on light and shades, and simple little tricks... Anyone can paint! People just are so into 'oh, I could never do that!' That was me many times. Truth is, yes, yes, you can. My issue and what I struggle with is to know when a painting is done and to walk away and NOT over-paint. That painting the forest... you take a bristle brush, about a size 6, put some paint out on your pallet, reds, oranges, yellows, gesso, browns, reds, purples... plunge the brush into the color mix rub it in, good, then head to your canvas and using just the tips of the brush start making a canape on your trees. Keep paint loaded thick on the tips and... tap... tap... tap... tap... It's just that simple. Anyone can do it once you know the tricks.

I am self taught myself....I loved watching Bob Ross and one day I started to paint with him on Saturdays and just learned from that,,,but I have always loved to draw as well. Always loved art.
