Pissed off today

I understand that we are in very difficult times but there is a line crossed when someone would break into our home and steal things. Coming home from grocery shopping and seeing your back door wide open and walking in thinking oh crap I forgot to close the door. We come in and something feels so off my hair on my arms start lifting and then when I walked over to my freezer more than half of my meat is gone. Now even though we have a farm it is meat that we grew and not cheap to get processed. To top it off they left the freezer open, the fridge was emptied out as well. I felt sick to my stomach and I have never felt so violated and now we have to figure out a way to get meat. Killing time is not now and to use one of our cattle we will have to wait for almost 6 months before it has done being hung for a certain amount of time. With the meat prices as they are we do not have the funds to replace what we have lost.

I started to put our stuff away after bawling my eyes out and finding our dog food is halfway taken as well. Briggs our dog was outside when this happened. Now we have an idea who it was but we cannot prove it. They left no food from the fridge and took everything including the fruit and vegies. Yes I got some today but I like to keep a bit over stocked.

We called the police but there is not much for them to go on. So needless to say cameras have now been ordered and a new backdoor is going in tomorrow.

A not so ordinary Kitchen Table

18:20 Apr 19 2026
Times Read: 180

Today my lovely daughter told me she was missing her Grandma and I told her I was missing her too. I have her kitchen table in my house now, I know it is only a table but it was the place of conversations, family meals, holiday meals, a table where family squabbles happened, laughter that almost peed yourself. When we visited her and dad and stayed over night and in the morning there she was sitting at her spot having her coffee or tea, and saying good morning to whoever was up. I loved getting myself a cup of coffee and just sitting with her on the quiet mornings and just talking about stuff and how my life was going good or bad or just to talk about the shopping list and what we were going to do for the day.

It was at that table we celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, or just having company over. It was at that table where we fought, laughed and cried. We played board games, did puzzles, did crafts, painted pictures, and did our homework. I could go on about the things that table is to all of us but I think the most bitterSweet memory I have was when I told my mom I was pregnant, then nine years later she told me about her cancer. She asked me if I could shave her head because her hair was starting to fall out. In that moment that table became more than a precious family heirloom. When she told me that I promised myself to make every moment and every detail of that table and the times we spent together at it. I made a promise that if I get to have that table in my house it would never be refinished because every cut, every little mark like the one my dad made because he was fixing his carburetor on it and the screwdriver slipped and made a deep gouge should always be there.

When I first got it and we put it together my dad had tears in his eyes. He said it is now found its new home and will be used again and more memories to be made. That evening I felt my mom close by and I looked over my shoulder and I swore I saw all my family members sitting at it. The next morning I made my coffee and sat in her spot and just smiled. My daughters woke up and they hugged me right away and said morning mom. I could not help but start to cry. When I told my sister about this she said well you're now mom and she will always sit at that table.

So this is my little story today and you know what I love and miss my mom even more but that is a good thing because I know her memory and everything I loved and still love about being a mom is because of her.

I really enjoyed reading this, what a wonderful thing to be able to have the table and keep it. Having something such as this passed down with all the memories and what a great way to be able to sit down through the generations and tell the stories that were told or happening around the very table that your sitting at. This is wonderful.

My Profile changes

In my last post I said I figured things out for my profile but I want to thank those who actually posted how to do things on their member pages and who created the style codes that tell you what they do. I also had a good friend help me as well. Yes it was nice to figure it out and I apologize for not saying I did have help. I do not know how to code to make those amazing detailed profiles out there right now but I think I like what I have done here and I do not imagine I am ever going to be as talented as those who make their profiles the way they are. So anyway thank you once again to those who gave me some help to remember things. This time I will copy my style sheet and save and store it so I do not have to do things over again if I mess up.

I had a look. It's really nice.

Some profiles I can't even read due to the text clashing with the background, yet yours is just right, to my eyes at least.

It reminds me of a cloudy day waiting for the breaking storm.

Beautiful.

To one Lady to another

Okay Mother Nature we are both women and well I understand we can all get grumpy. I would just like to ask from one woman to another please please take a breathe and lets get back to having actually having an actual spring. I mean I was able to hang my clothes on the outdoor line and have all my windows open and then sit on my porch enjoying the warmth and then whammy sighs winter again.

Please I had enough of the hot flashes and then being cold just like any other woman at our age so could you please just sit down with the rest of us and have some tea and let's talk okay?

I have recently discovered Arab Perfumes and the price point is just lovely. I can actually afford some amazing perfume and they last for a very very long time. I tried some and the scent I tried is still on my jacket and it has been over a week or more.
