Lord Stephen O’Mallie Orion

Lord Stephen O’Mallie Orion
I was always interested in the occult so the community was a natural draw to
me. I played an online game called N.O.D. where I met Countess Monette of
Legion of Panthion; she invited me
to meet “real vampyres" where I was
then invited to Club Mother.
I began my journey into the
community as a Ronin, one of the
first within our community. Father
Vincent and Lady Saige later
adopted me into their private
Bloodline, which has been one of my
greatest honors and is as dear to me
as my blood family.
I quickly took my place as the
protector of our Community, the first “cop of the community”; this is a position
I took very seriously which enabled me to protect the community of family I
hold close to my heart. I was then given the honor to protect our community
within the growing courts and quickly elevated to one of the first sheriffs.
The O'Mallie Family started as a Bloodline of “Guardians” and was started by
Thomas O’Mallie (later to help form Court of Atlantis) and myself. The
Bloodline grew strong and quickly, becoming a strong force within Gotham.
O’Mallie was of the first families of Clan Sabretooth, where we served as
protectors of the Clan. The family grew so strong and large O’Mallie became a
full-fledged Clan and later broke off of Sabretooth. With now two large Clans
within Gotham, “dual citizenship/membership” was granted to many that
wanted to be a part of both clans; in this way O’Mallie is actually credited with
Ankh personalization to identify each other.
O’Mallie grew so strong that the Clan itself reached worldwide with members
across seas on all sides of the globe. Within Gotham, many of the older
households that exist now were born within O’Mallie i.e. House Panthion and
Clan Hidden Shadows. Many members grew and formed their own legacies.
There are so many that have come through O’Mallie, too many to name
however; some are Countess Monette, Lady “Fury” Mehnea, Lord Xanatos,
Lord Sinner, Lord Thomas, Lord Big John, Lady Little Debi…. My offspring
knows who they are and they know where they stand in the O’Mallie Legacy. It
was my joy to see my children prosper in their many endeavors.
Despite what many think O’Mallie was never disbanded; I did however; close
the doors to the O’Mallie Bloodline and the Clan itself after Sinner O’Mallie
sired his last Chylde, Mistress Absinth O’Mallie, this was largely due to my
85
change in living location and conditions of the community. O’Mallie now exists
as a Legacy Bloodline and Clan. This was a decision made after the passing of
Lord D’Drennan as an honor to his memory.
I have co-founded a new Household by the name of House Vengeance; it is a
small private house of friends. It does have O’Mallie ties however; it is NOT a
re-birth of Clan O’Mallie.
This is my History and the History of Clan O’Mallie.

Bullies

18:31 Feb 20 2018
Times Read: 70

The most important thing to keep in mind about bullies is that they pick on those whom they perceive as weaker, so as long as you remain passive and compliant, you make yourself a target. Many bullies are also cowards on the inside. When their victims begin to show backbone and stand up for their rights, the bully will often back down. This is true in schoolyards, as well as in domestic and office environments.

On an empathetic note, studies show that many bullies are victims of violence themselves. This in no way excuses bullying behavior, but may help you consider the bully in a more equanimous light.

“When people don't like themselves very much, they have to make up for it. The classic bully was actually a victim first.” — Tom Hiddleston

“Some people try to be tall by cutting off the heads of others.” — Paramhansa Yogananda

“I realized that bullying never has to do with you. It's the bully who's insecure.” — Shay Mitchell

When confronting bullies, be sure to place yourself in a position where you can safely protect yourself, whether it’s standing tall on your own, having other people present to witness and support, or keeping a paper trail of the bully’s inappropriate behavior. In cases of physical, verbal, or emotional abuse, consult with counseling, legal, law enforcement, or administrative professionals on the matter. It’s very important to stand up to bullies, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Why do people do the catfish thing?

Some people might want revenge on a former partner, some people might be lonely or bored and some people just want to cause trouble. However, one of the biggest reasons people catfish seems to be because they don't feel confident in who they really are, so they pretend they're someone else.

Children of the Dark Lyrics

We're nothing like you
a wall in black
we're nothing like you
and you don't get who we are
we're nothing like you
we dare the flow
we're nothing like you
and you don't know who we are
In a land of seals and sorrow
we kept waiting for the spark
so hail your kings and hail your queens
we're different we're the children of the dark

We're nothing like you
we're true and free
we're nothing like you
but you can't see who we are
we're nothing like you
and all the rest
we're nothing like you
and you won't guess who we are

In a land of hate and horror
we set an exclamation mark
so hail your kings and hail your queens
we're rigid we're the children of the dark
For a new beginning for a turnaround
our heads are spinning and we won't calm down
we're a wall in motion
oh a change is now walk in the park
what comes around goes around
better watch out we're the children of the dark

We're nothing like you, we're true and free
we're nothing like you but you can't see
we're nothing like you and all the rest
we're nothing like you

houdini and the Supernatural

Houdini and the Supernatural

In the 1920s, after the death of his mother, Houdini began focusing his energy on debunking psychics and mediums. Although he eventually focused on proving these people to be fakes, his initial entry into the world of the supernatural began when he attempted to contact his dead mother. However, he found that the mediums he met were often frauds. He began investigating their methods and claims and later became a self-appointed crusader against them. He knew he could duplicate their methods on stage and it was not long before his efforts to reach his mother became secondary to his need to expose the frauds. Ashamed of having masqueraded as a medium during his medicine show days, Houdini began making notes for a book. However, to prove that he did have an open mind, the magician made a pact with his friends that when he died, he would make contact, if at all possible, from the other side. He devised a secret code with his wife Bess so that only she could divine the legitimacy of the message.

During personal appearances to promote his moves, Houdini would project slides of various mediums and denounce their supposed supernatural abilities. He would also answer questions about false mediums in various newspapers throughout the country. Though he continued to perform, Houdini spent most of his time focused on exposing what he called "vultures who prey on the bereaved." In fact, Harry would often attend séances in disguise in order to gather evidence, then leap up, tear off his disguise and reveal how the fraud was committed. Like so many of his illusions, these activities received extensive coverage from the press.

In 1923, he took time off from his magic act to travel across the country giving lectures against mediums. His book, A Magician Among the Spirits, would be published the following year. Later in 1923, Houdini joined a panel that was put together by Scientific American Magazine, which offered a reward for any medium that could prove their psychic gifts were genuine. Months after joining the committee, Houdini heard the committee had deadlocked over a medium named Mina Crandon. He immediately set out to debunk Crandon by attending one of her séances, at the end of which he is said to have remarked, "I've got her; all fraud." To prove it, Houdini created a special "fraud preventer" cabinet, a crate with a slanted top with openings for the medium's head and arms. The second séance, this time using the cabinet, was not successful and Crandon did not receive the cash prize.

In the fall of 1925, Houdini opened a new full-evening show that included his debunking of psychics and mediums. In every city along his route, Houdini offered $10,000 to anyone who could exhibit supernatural phenomena that he could not mirror. The shows sold out all over the country. In the spring of 1926, he returned to New York with the intention of spending the summer months relaxing and devising new mysteries for his fall season. It was during this tour that the show began to be plagued with problems and mishaps and ended with Houdini's death.

First, Bess became ill with ptomaine poisoning. Then, a chain slipped during Houdini's famous Chinese Water Torture Cell escape and Harry fractured his ankle. Finally, Houdini received an unexpected punch to the abdomen, which eventually led to his death at the age of 52. Not long after his death, the "Houdini Séances" began with Bess Houdini offering $10,000 to anyone who could help contact her husband. In 1928, a man named Arthur Ford announced that he had received a message from Houdini himself. After reviewing the message, Bess Houdini validated the message as one that indeed used the code shared between her and her husband.

Bess continued to hold séances to contact her husband, but the last official séance was held on October 31, 1936. This final séance was covered by radio and broadcast all over the world. The medium called out to Harry to make himself known. However, after over an hour, nothing had occurred and Mrs. Houdini decided to "turn out the light" on her attempts to contact Harry. As the séance came to an end, a violent storm broke out full of thunder and lightening and drenching everyone involved. The participants would later learn that the storm did not occur anywhere else in the area; only above the séance location.

Harry Houdini

06:50 Feb 14 2018
Times Read: 1,116

Real vampires love Vampire Rave.Harry Houdini's grand illusions and daring, spectacular escape acts made him one of the most famous magicians of all time.
Synopsis

Born Erich Weisz on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Hungary, young Harry Houdini moved with his family to Appleton, Wisconsin, where he later claimed he was born. Fascinated with magic, he began performing and drew attention for his daring feats of escape. In 1893, he married Wilhelmina Rahner, who became his onstage partner as well. Houdini continued performing escape acts until his death, on October 31, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan.
Early Life

Famed magician/entertainer Harry Houdini was born Erich Weisz on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Hungary. One of seven children born to a Jewish rabbi and his wife, Erich moved with his family as a child to Appleton, Wisconsin, where he later claimed he was born. When he was 13, Erich moved with his father to New York City, taking on odd jobs and living in a boarding house before the rest of the family joined them. It was there that he became interested in trapeze arts.

In 1894, Erich launched his career as a professional magician and renamed himself Harry Houdini, the first name being a derivative of his childhood nickname, "Ehrie," and the last an homage to the great French magician Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin. (Although he later wrote The Unmasking of Robert-Houdin, a study that set out to debunk Houdin’s skill.) Though his magic met with little success, he soon drew attention for his feats of escape using handcuffs. In 1893, he married fellow performer Wilhelmina Beatrice Rahner, who would serve as Houdini's lifelong stage assistant under the name Beatrice "Bess" Houdini.
Commercial Success

In 1899, Houdini's act caught the attention of Martin Beck, an entertainment manager who soon got him booked at some of the best vaudeville venues in the country, followed by a tour of Europe. Houdini's feats would involve the local police, who would strip search him, place him in shackles and lock him in their jails. The show was a huge sensation, and he soon became the highest-paid performer in American vaudeville.

"No performer should attempt to bite off red-hot iron unless he has a good set of teeth." - Harry Houdini

Houdini continued his act in the United States in the early 1900s, constantly upping the ante from handcuffs and straightjackets to locked, water-filled tanks and nailed packing crates. He was able to escape because of both his uncanny strength and his equally uncanny ability to pick locks. In 1912, his act reached its pinnacle, the Chinese Water Torture Cell, which would be the hallmark of his career. In it, Houdini was suspended by his feet and lowered upside-down in a locked glass cabinet filled with water, requiring him to hold his breath for more than three minutes to escape. The performance was so daring and such a crowd-pleaser that it remained in his act until his death in 1926.
Exploits Outside of Magic

Houdini's wealth allowed him to indulge in other passions, such as aviation and film. He purchased his first plane in 1909 and set out to become the first person to man a controlled power flight over Australia in 1910. While he did it after a few failed attempts, it later was revealed that Houdini was likely beaten to the punch by just a few months by a Capt. Colin Defries, who made a short flight in December 1909.

Houdini also launched a movie career, releasing his first film in 1901, Merveilleux Exploits du Célébre Houdini Paris, which documented his escapes. He starred in several subsequent films, including The Master Mystery, The Grim Game and Terror Island. In New York, he started his own production company, Houdini Picture Corporation, and a film lab called The Film Development Corporation, but neither was a success. In 1923, Houdini became president of Martinka & Co., America's oldest magic company.

Houdini's publishing career didn't end with his literary takedown of Jean Eugène Robert-Houdine, either, as he later wrote Miracle Mongers and Their Methods (1920) and A Magician Among the Spirits (1924).

As president of the Society of American Magicians, Harry Houdini was a vigorous campaigner against fraudulent psychic mediums. Most notably, he debunked renowned medium Mina Crandon, better known as Margery. This act turned him against former friend Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who believed deeply in spiritualism and Margery's sight. Despite his activism against spiritual charlatanism, Houdini and his wife did in fact experiment with otherworldly spiritualism when they decided that the first of them to die would try to communicate from beyond the grave with the survivor. Before her 1943 death, Bess Houdini declared the experiment a failure.
A Mysterious Death

Though there are mixed reports as to the cause of Harry Houdini's death, it is certain that he suffered from acute appendicitis. Whether his demise was caused by a McGill University student who was testing his will by punching him in the stomach (with permission) or by poison from a band of angry Spiritualists is unknown. What is known is that he died of peritonitis from a ruptured appendix on October 31, 1926, at the age of 52, in Detroit, Michigan.

After his death, Houdini's props and effects were used by his brother Theodore Hardeen, who eventually sold them to magician and collector Sidney H. Radner. Much of the collection could be see at the Houdini Museum in Appleton, Wisconsin, until Radner auctioned it off in 2004. Most of the prized pieces, including the Water Torture Cell, went to magician David Copperfield.

How to Do The Double Lift

Real vampires love Vampire Rave.
The double lift (also known as the Double Turnover) is an essential move for any serious magician. It is the prime move used in numerous classic card tricks.

What is the Double Lift?

It is a sleight of hand technique in which the magician lifts two cards at once, but makes it appear as only one card (the top card on the deck). To spectators, it appears that the magician is showing the top card, but it is actually the second card.

Real vampires love Vampire Rave.

Why is it such an important move to master?

The double lift is a skill that every magician practices until they can do it with their eyes closed. It is an incredibly powerful trick that can be used in various magic tricks. In fact, some classic tricks rely solely on the use of double lifts.

For instance, if you master the double lift, doing something simple as this trick below can amaze audiences.

Real vampires love Vampire Rave.Do a double lift showing the second card but making it look as if it were the top card.Place the hidden top card in the middle of the deck.Show the new top card (which used to be the second card), saying that it magically floated from the middle of the deck back to the top.

It’s an amazing thing to see for people who are unaware of this technique.

Here’s an example of how such a simple move can wow audiences. Here David Blaine performs a trick for the Dallas Cowboys. The entire trick basically revolves around doing a double lift twice, and totally misleading the audience. You’ll see the amazing effect the trick has, even with simple techniques.

The trick by David Blaine involves using 2 identical cards and is explained with more detail in this tutorial.

Types of Double Lifts

There are many ways to do a double lift. We’ll take a look at the 4 most commonly used ones. You’ll notice that the more natural it looks, the more difficult it is to master.

1. Push Off Double Lift

This is the double lift that David Blaine and many other professional magicians choose to use. It’s also the one you see in the video above where he does it twice right in front of the Dallas Cowboys audience and they don’t suspect a thing. The way you pick up the cards is so natural that people never suspect that it can be two cards.

This is one of the hardest double lifts to master. You may be able to learn how to do it with a little bit of practice, but it’s going to take at least a few months of practice before you are ready to do it in front of an audience.

You should be warned though. Even though it looks awesome and rarely ever draws any suspicion, it can be difficult to pull off with an older/flappy deck of cards. There is very little room for error and a high chance of the two cards misaligning.

2. Basic Double Lift

The basic double lift is by far the easiest to do. It’s the best way for beginners to get started. However, it doesn’t really look natural. Even if you pull off the move perfectly, it attracts a lot of suspicion even from people who don’t know what it is.

The basic move consists of simply lifting two cards with your hand and turning it over in the air.

As you feel more comfortable with the “feel” of picking up two cards naturally, the other techniques will be easier to master.

3. The Double Turnover

The Double Turnover is another method that is good for beginners. It is just slightly more difficult than the basic move, and looks a little bit more natural. This is because instead of lifting the cards, you simply turn them over face up on top of the deck. After the card is shown, you turn them back over again.

Take a look at what it looks like and how to do it in the video below.

Although it looks a lot more natural, it is not concealed enough to make it one that professionals or experts choose to use.

4. 2-Card Pushover

The 2-Card Pushover is by-far the most difficult to master. However, it is also the most natural and most reliable. By reliable I mean that it works well under pressure and with a variety of playing card conditions.

The 2-Card Pushover is similar to the Double Turnover, but looks an infinite times better. Take a look at the video below to learn how to do it.

Which Move is the Best One?

The 2-Card Pushover is the move I recommend for anyone who is willing to take the time to practice it.

The 2-Card Pushover and The Push Off Double Lift that David Blaine uses are the two most popular among professional illusionists. However, the 2-Card Pushover works much better under pressure. Although The Push Off is more susceptible to errors (such as the two cards misaligning) the 2-Card Pushover allows for much better control even with older decks.

The Card Hotel card trick
The Big Reveal
In a jumble of cards, the kings, queens, jacks, and aces defy the odds to find one another!

Props: A deck of cards.

Secret Steps
1. Remove all the face cards and aces from the deck—they’re the only cards you need.

2. Place the kings in a row and say, “All the kings decided to check into a hotel. And since they’re nice kings, they decided to bring their wives, the queens.” Now place the queens on top of the kings, matching the suits.

3. Then say, “The queens were such devoted mothers, they didn’t want to leave their sons at home.” Place the jacks on top of the queens, matching the suits.

4. Now say, “Before they all went to bed, they decided to lock their doors.” Place the aces on top of the jacks, matching the suits.

5. Here’s where the story gets interesting. Say, “But in the middle of the night, they all got mixed up.” Put all the stacks of cards together, one on top of the other. Turn the deck facedown and ask your child to cut it three times, being sure to put the deck back together after each cut.

6. When she’s done, say, “But somehow, come morning, everyone was back where he or she belonged.” Starting from the top of the pile, lay the cards out in four stacks facedown, putting one card in each stack until you’re out of cards. Turn the piles over: All the kings will be together, and so will all the queens, jacks, and aces!

How to Do a Magic Card Trick

Magic tricks are great for impressing your friends as well as practicing your sleight of hand and your ability as a performer. All you'll need to perform these basic card tricks is a standard deck of playing cards, a little practice, and a flair for dazzling your audience.
Method One of Four:
Finding Someone's Card in a DeckEdit

1.

Shuffle the deck and memorize the bottom card. Make a show of shuffling your deck. Part of a successful magic trick involves drawing your audience’s attention somewhere specific. Shuffle the deck once, then let your spectator shuffle the cards or cut the deck to show that the arrangement of the cards is completely random. After they shuffle the deck, memorize the bottom card.
One way to do this is to cut the deck as the very last shuffling action you do, then sneak a peek at the bottom card as you tap the cards on the table.
Another option is to glance at the bottom card before you go to shuffle the cards one last time.
Two methods for making sure the card on the bottom stays on the bottom when shuffling are:
When performing a Riffle shuffle, make sure that you always start the shuffle with the hand that has the bottom card in it.[1]This way, your bottom card stays the same as it hits the table first.
In an Overhand shuffle, angle the face of the cards away from your audience.[2] Cut the deck, but grip the bottom card with the pads of your fingers. While you separate the deck to shuffle, pull back on the bottom card so it doesn’t get pulled up, but stays on the bottom.
2

Ask your audience member to pick a card. Have the person memorize it and place it on the bottom of the deck. When your spectator puts the card at the bottom of the deck, it will be right next to the bottom card you've memorized.
Make a show of looking away as your spectator memorizes the card. The less it looks like you’re trying to figure out what the card is now, the better your trick will look in the end.
3
Cut the deck. You can cut the deck yourself, or have the spectator cut it. Your original bottom card which you’ve memorized and your spectator's card will end up somewhere in the middle of the deck. When you turn the deck over and fan them out, the person's card should be on top of, and to the right of the card that you memorized.
If you have good sleight of hand, you might want to cut the deck a few times. If you know where your two cards are roughly placed in the deck, you can further cut it, keeping the two cards together.

4.

Announce that you will now find your spectator's card. This is your time to bring out the “magic” of the trick. The more you can sell your performance, the more fun the trick will be for your audience.
Have fun fanning out your cards, running your hand over the deck as you look for your spectator’s card.
5
Search for the original card you memorized. Fan through through your deck face-up, so that both you and your spectator can see your cards. When you find your original card, you'll know that your spectator's memorized card should be the one on top of it.
Once you’ve located it, don’t pick it out right away. Study your spectator as if you can read the answer there.
Play around with almost picking other cards, then deciding to move on. Finally, once you’ve built suspension, pick the card your audience member chose.
6
Reveal the card. With a great flourish, show your spectator her card.
Ask your audience member if the card you are holding is her card. If it is, congratulations! You’ve performed a basic magic trick.
