Butterfly Curio

A while back my husband found a monarch butterfly on the ground at his friend's house outside. It had died with it's wings laid open, and its antennae intact. He brought it home for me. I've had it in a container to protect it until I frame it. I recently went to an oddities shop where they had many framed butterflies - that has inspired me to start this project.

After some research online, I see many people use antique picture frames that have a convex glass, so the butterfly won't be squished like it would be in modern flat picture frames. I could also do a shadow box frame, but I'm not vibing with how bulky those can be - and I like gold antique looking frames. I'm not sure yet what color background to have behind the monarch. So far I like velvet, parchment paper, but I want something that makes the monarch pop but the whole art piece I want it to keep with an antique / goth oddity feel.

I plan to thrift hunt first because I like to see a frame in person, rather than looking online and hoping it's the right fit... I want to hang it up in my house since I'm trying to decorate with a romantic goth vintage feel.

The forum is gone in my coven. Maybe it's under construction. It's inactive, so nothing much to miss. I wish I can be part of an active coven to have others to converse with in it from time to time. Halfway to level 100, someday I can choose a coven. VR used to be more lively, and I miss my old mentor hannahrose

I haven't been here long enough to know much about how active houses and covens are.

I don't bother myself much with activity levels. I just think it's nice to get tucked away now and again and write stuff you may not stick in a journal.

Maybe pick one you have some sort of connection to and go there when sired.

Hope you get things sorted out.

Many covers and houses are inactive to a point, some still have a couple or one person posting. Hellhounds and griffs Egypt theme was active , level up and join what you wish. Sorry had the same problem when I was in a Coven.

My coven is somewhat active, and much like the forums section of VR, it also has its own forum discussions and mini-games. You can even share your own forum thread and information. We do have a daily sign-in for members to check in every day to show our activeness. The coven also has members of the month and coven contest winners, although I'm not sure they're active anymore. Those were probably ongoing during the previous CM's reign. Our current CM also has a mentorship for coding, which is what I've been learning to do under his tutelage. There's no drama in the coven, and everyone is chill even though we don't speak often. If you ever sire out, you can find your way to Sete Diabolica. I'm close to siring out but honestly I think I'm fine where I'm at. I've had no issues with anyone. Drayton and Diabolique are cool people
