Last night at work was a little bit difficult. We're still having to work around the inventory team so things are still going slowly and not getting done. The thing is while the other departments are finishing their stuff, hardware can't do shit because inventory team is STILL in there. My boss said it's because there's a lot of unnecessary crap in the overhead of on the aisles, but that aisle has 7 FUCKING PEOPLE IN IT! 7 people and they are still on the SAME TWO FUCKING BAYS they were in from when they first started! My boss said she worked inventory last year and they were done with the whole aisle in like 2-3 days. Based off that alone, she should know it's not because there's unnecessary shit in the overhead it's because they are slacking off. One of the other assistant managers said as much and Bear agrees. We haven't been able to work that aisle at all since inventory started because these people aren't trying to move their asses and get it done. 7 PEOPLE working the SAME TWO FUCKING BAYS...it's fucking ridiculous. Like, they seriously need to hurry the fuck up. Bear and I try to hurry and do our job in the aisle the other inventory team members are in so we're not all up in their way for too long, but these 7 FUCKING PEOPLE can't hurry up and do theirs so Bear and I can get in there. It's not okay! We are seriously backed up on shit that needs to be put up in that aisle because these people are moving slower than fucking turtles!

Bear had a problem with some of our crew last night. He had to move a silver cart that was super full with heavy stuff from the aisle it was in back to receiving and he ended up throwing his back out. As he passed one of the plumbing aisles there were at least 4 guys from our team standing around and talking. Neither of them offered to help. Even after Bear yelled at them for standing around, neither of them did anything to help him. One of them could of very quickly gone to the back cart and pushed it while Bear pulled, but they didn't. He told our boss and she asked if he wanted her to fill out an accident report since he got hurt while working (she has 24 hours to fill it out and turn it in). He wants to wait until we go in tonight that way he can see if it still bothers him. If it doesn't he won't fill one out, but if it does he will. I would have helped him if I could but I'm so small it wouldn't have done much and he wanted me to watch his stuff so no one takes. I hope it feels better today though and if it doesn't that he fills out the accident report. Besides the fact that he's already in his thirties, Bear messed up back really bad when he was younger during a cliff diving accident. He really should be more careful, his body isn't the same as it was when he was in his twenties. My poor Bear.

Work last night went well. We got most of it done so there was only a little bit of residual. We got a massive order of the same exact drill (brand and everything). 4 WEEKS worth of it went up in the overhead for the bay it was for, the rest went into a different overhead. I helped Bear when he was putting them up in an aisle I was working in. He was having to walk up and down the ladder but I thought it would be quicker if I just grabbed a couple and put them on the third step of the ladder that way he can grab them. We got done with hardware in like 3 hours (so a little after lunch) and I went to work in plumbing. The guy that normally works it was there but I guess he went home (??????). I really don't know. I'm honestly surprised to that guy still works with us. He's constantly calling out or going home early (can't imagine he has much of a paycheck). He's hardly ever working and when he does work he works slower than me. I work slow because, even though I've worked there for two months, I'm still trying to figure out and remember where everything goes. And I sometimes have to look over the same area multiple times because the prices don't always match (the price on my phone would be different from the one on the item's tag) so I end up having to look for the SKU number and those be teeny tiny. He's slow just cause he's lazy.

Last month, my boss had a talk with all of us during a meeting. Some of my coworkers were going to her saying other coworkers were telling them to slow down, not to work so fast, just so they won't have to do as much or work as hard. And I know this coworker was one of the ones saying that. I don't think this guy really realizes (or cares) that if stuff doesn't get done one night, it gets piled on top of the stuff we have to do the next night! Plumbing doesn't even really have that much stuff to do in it. I don't normally work it because it's usually a bunch of heavy stuff that I won't be able to lift safely because of how small I am. I only ever work it when my boss needs someone to do the light stuff and I'm already done with my area. But it's still pretty easy. I don't think I have ever seen a full plumbing cart. Electrical and hardware, yes. Plumbing, no. And my boss is always saying how plumbing is this guy's "baby" (like it's HIS area. Only HE can really work it). But I think he only likes it because it's quite possibly the easiest area. The carts aren't overfilled with crap and the only hard part is the heavy stuff. I swear, this dude needs to be terminated.

Saturday was interesting since I got to wear my red panda onesie. I was so excited for it. I was the only one who went all out for it. My coworker was blue bird (blue beanie, blue shirt, blue jeans) and my boss was a jaguar (ears, tail, cuffs and an all black outfit [she also had a collar but it choked her a little too much]). I opted to wear clothes underneath my red panda onesie since it buttons up the front and I didn't want anyone accidentally getting a peak at what was underneath. But, man, is it hard to use the bathroom with all that on. Ya gotta unbutton the onesie, then I had to do undo my belt and pull everything down. Had to make sure I always went to the bathroom at the first sign of having to go so I didn't go on myself. We did have bbq (burgers and brats) and it was so good (of course Bear was the one on grill). We still had plenty left over by the end of the night so I took a burger home. The people who worked Sunday got one of two things depending on when they worked. Day crew got breakfast burritos and the night shifts got pizza. Everyone that worked Sunday also got little tubs of cotton candy and Bear made sure I got one before leaving after work because he knows I love cotton candy.

I'm still waiting for Bear to get better so he can help me find a good editing software for my computer and teach me how to use it (I can't just read instructions, I get distracted easily). Hopefully, he'll get better soon. His coughing has gotten better so I take that as good sign that he'll be over this soon. But once he is I will start recording for my YouTube channel/podcast.

You guys have no idea how much I am freaking out right now! Tonight is the last night overnight crew gets to dress up for work and it is animal day so we get to dress as our favorite animal. I am currently dressed as a fucking RED PANDA! GAH!!! I'm so happy!!! There are two things I'm absolutely obsessed with in this world: Jack Skellington and red pandas!!! I am literally wearing a whole ass red panda onesie complete with a tail and a hood with a red panda face and ears!!! I do have one complaint though. THEY DIDN'T STUFF THE TAIL!!!! I was hoping the tail would be stuffed. Oh well, I'm still a red panda! I opted to wear clothes underneath since it buttons up the front and I didn't want people getting a peak at my...um...unmentionables.... It would have been better if it was a zipper. Going to the bathroom will be pain but still...RED PANDA!!!! Oh, I almost forgot the best part. IT HAS FUCKING POKCETS!!!! And these pockets are deeeeeep!!! I fucking love it!!!! Btw, I got it off Amazon. Yay!

Tonight should go by fairly easily. My boss was telling Bear and I her plan when she was bringing us home. Bear's gonna spend a couple of hours flying the Christmas stuff (it's too early for that shit man) and I'm gonna be working on the residual for electrical (my main department) then I think I'm gonna move on to work the residual for hardware. Since each of these days for Success Sharing also come with different food (last night was Hawaiian bbq), my boss isn't going to make food like she normally does on Saturdays. Instead tonight will be American bbq (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.) as well as frozen corn dogs. Bear will man the grill since he's really good at cooking stuff (he went to two years of culinary school damn it! Lol.). Anyone who works tomorrow (so not me and Bear, unfortunately) will have breakfast burritos in the morning and then pizza in the evening (so day crew gets burritos and night crew gets pizza). They're so lucky. I love this job.

Last night at work was a lot better. Since we didn't have to worry about the childish, yet arrogant, electricians all we had to do was work around the inventory team. I got all my freight done and was able to work on a little shopping cart that had mixed SKUs for the same aisle. After I finished that my final tasks were to go around collecting the silver carts and any shopping carts that had trash or were empty. Then I threw away the garbage in the compactor while my coworker's (the one who does bay directed packdowns but is currently on the inventory team) boyfriend (who is also my coworker but it's easier to just say it like this) put the cardboard in the baler. We got done with everything at a pretty decent time.

These next few days (today, tomorrow and Sunday) will be filled with fun! These next few days are all about Success Sharing. It happens every 6 months and we all get a bonus (mine was prorated since I started just before the cutoff). We also have three days where we get to kinda dress up (as long as it's appropriate for work). The current theme is carnival. Today people get to wear a crazy hat and eat some Hawaiian BBQ. Of course, overnight crew gets to start the night before so I came last night with a headband that had a veil and small spider on top. Bear wore a similar headband but instead of a spider it was a top hat. My boss made a makeshift photo booth and towards the end of the shift everyone that participated posed for a picture. Tonight I'm dressed up for tomorrow's thing which is "dress as your favorite carnival act" and I am currently typing this as a depressed mime (black long sleeve top, black pants and my hair is in a low pony tail). Unfortunately, I don't have a beret. Hm, I guess you can say the overnight crew prepares guests for what they can expect over these next few days. Lol.

Last night at work was bullshit. During this week we have the inventory team (which has a couple of my coworkers on it) doing a mass packdown of the entire store, so the overnight freight and inventory teams are having to work around each other which is a pain because we're slowing each other down and getting in each others way. Neither one of us can do what we need to if the other is in the way. It's frustrating and they've mostly been doing hardware which is the area Bear and I have been working together since the main person who works it is on the inventory team.

And last night not only did we have to work around the inventory team but also the electricians because they came in to work on the wifi. These guys are super arrogant, super incompetent and do not care for the company's safety policies. If they see one of my coworkers working in an area, instead of going somewhere else they'll just kick them out (mean while if we see them in an area we'll just go work somewhere else or throw away whatever garbage we have and check to see if they're still there later). Bear went off on one of the female electricians because when she saw a pallet on the ground in front of an aisle she needed to go down instead of just getting off her lift and moving it or finding and asking one of my coworkers to move she just decided to run over it. She most likely broke it because think about it it's a multi-ton lift running over a wooden pallet! As for safety, these guys zoom around and are often playing with each other whilst operating the lifts causing them to almost run over some of my coworkers. They won't close the gates to an aisle their in when they're up in the air fixing stuff causing my boss and Bear to get on them about it. And even after my boss and Bear yells at them to shut the gates they STILL do it. These guys need to realize they are not working outside they are working inside a store, with small aisles, around other people some of which are tiny like me. I feel like my boss needs to talk to the store manager because it's not okay that these people have such little regard for mine and my coworkers' time and safety. I swear they act like high schoolers or little kids with a new toy.

Despite all this, Bear and I managed to finish putting away all the stuff from our carts and put up whatever needed to be upstocked. But man was it a pain!

No negativity in my journals please and thank you

In my journal yesterday I plugged my boyfriend's YouTube channel in the hopes that he would get a bit of following on there since he's an avid gamer and I've read journals that mention the games he likes to play and that he plans to make videos of. When I went to check if I had any comments someone, I'm not going to say who, said that my boyfriend's chances of making it on YouTube on very slim I should set realistic expectations.

Please, for the love of everything, do not come into my comments with any sort of negativity. Or if I make a journal, such as the one from yesterday, do not say I should set realistic expectations. When it comes to stuff like this, especially when it pertains to my
boyfriend, I prefer to stay optimistic and not worry about if he's not going to make it. I like to think that he can. I want to support and if I were to start thinking things like "he probably won't make it because the chances are super slim" that's not supporting him, that's doubting him. My boyfriend is too great of a gamer for me to think stuff like that. I've seen him go up against high powered bosses by himself and defeat them.

You make thing saying I should be realistic is helping but it's really not. So please, if you're thinking of commenting something like that, just don't. Thank you.

Work on Saturday went fairly well. I managed to get all of the residual I was tasked with put away and then I did all of the bays we had an electric (I literally just faced them and opened any unopened boxes that were BEHIND EMPTY BOXES!!!!!) that was about 8 bays all in one aisle. My boss did bring in baked potatoes and they were amazing. Like I said, I am very basic with my toppings on my baked potatoes (butter, salt, sour cream) but I did add some cheese. She also brought in two different types of cookies (pumpkin chocolate chip [yum!] and...I forgot the other one), doughnut holes and she baked some brownies (they were so rich and chocolatey). She also brought in a couple half gallons of milk (regular and chocolate) and a bag of tiny mandarin oranges. Bear stayed until lunch just so he would be able to have some baked potatoes.

Unfortunately, since Bear is sick (again) I wasn't able to start recording for my podcast/YouTube channel since I do want his help finding an editing software program that is compatible with my laptop and teach me how to use it (I learn better when I'm shown as opposed to reading directions). I promise though, as soon as Bear is better I will have him help me out with the editing software and I will start recording. On a related note, Bear has started his own YouTube channel. He screen records his battles in Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3 and other similar games and uploads them to YouTube so people can try and follow along to what he's doing if they need help. Kinda like a visual tutorial. He has three videos currently (one already has 7 views) and so far I am his only subscriber (I just wanna support my big Bear). If anyone of my friends or readers on here likes games like that could you please consider subscribing to his YouTube channel and interacting with his videos (like, comment, etc.). Just type Joey Dysart into the search box and it will be the only channel that pops up (he hasn't made his own pfp yet so it's just like a blue [green????? I can't tell] background with a white J). I want my boyfriend to be able to make it big on YouTube because between having to buy stuff for the apartment, bills and his child support payment he doesn't have much money left over for him to spend on himself. I want him to be able to buy himself some nice things and you can make some serious cash with YouTube. So Please subscribe to his YouTube channel and interact with his videos. Thank you!

The likelihood of your boyfriend "making it big" on YouTube is incredibly slim. Like, incredibly slim. Especially in video games, as that is an oversaturated market. I would not bank any hope on him becoming a big name in the video game space, and it's far better to be realistic about those expectations. If he really wants to build a following, streaming is a far better way to go about it. If he has a likable personality and is good at the games he plays, I'm sure he'd be able to gain a good following.

He used to stream on Twitch but he forgot his login. I am willing to support my boyfriend in what he pursues. And please do not come into my journal comments with any sort of negativity or saying I should set "realistic expectations" for whatever it is he or I are doing. I want to remain optimistic in the hope that he can, regardless of what it is.

Last night was bullshit. We did get a fairly good sized truck I was put in electrical with Bear which the overall time it would have taken one person to finish is 7 1/4 hours so between the two of use it would have gotten done in 3-4 hours. Bear was gonna try and stick it out until lunch, in which case we would have been done by then, but he ended up leaving just before first break because he wasn't feeling well. So, yeah, I ended up in electrical by myself and now have a ton of residual left. Now, I'm not blaming him because I know he's sick but it still sucked. Especially since the cart we started on was a monster cart that was split between two aisles (with items from one aisle mixing with aisles from the other aisle [receiving needs to do better with SEPERATING THE SHIT SO ISN'T MIXED]). It took me almost my whole shift to do that one cart because the bays in the aisle for second half of the cart are always messed up. I don't know if it's customers moving stuff or the people that do the stocking during the day putting shit wherever, but nothing in the aisle is EVER where it's supposed to be. So instead of being able to just put something where it goes, or seeing it's spot is full with other items like it, I have to take out random boxes from it's spot and find out where they go! Not to mention everything in those bays is so packed together you have to spend even more time pushing stuff aside so you can at least TRY and squeeze the box in. Another thing they do is put unopened boxes behind opened boxes. I was told that if a spot in a bay for an item is low or empty you open each box one by one and when you open the box you put in the spot it goes in, that way when the box in front is empty the customer can get the box behind it without having to get an associate to open it. But no. Whoever else does the stocking in electric when I'm not working it (and I don't think it's the other person I normally work with there) is so damn lazy they just take out the box that's already there and put unopened boxes behind it. Ugh, it's so frustrating.

Good thing it's Saturday and we don't get a truck that way I can work on the residual from last night. It's also food night and my boss is putting together a baked potato bar. She'll bake the potatoes at home and then bring in different toppings for us to put on them. I got some green onion from the store after work because Bear likes it on his potato. I'm basic just butter, salt and sour cream. Mmm, can't wait! I like baked potatoes!

Work last night was really easy. We didn't have a truck so it was just putting away residual and then bays. One of the carts took me a while because it was "no home", so I had to double check everything. Like eight things ended up not actually being no home, so I used my Sharpie pen to mark down the aisle and bays they went to (except for four because they were individually marked stuff so they weren't in a box). I needed help finding where those last four items went so I went looking for either my boss or Bear. I found Bear and asked him and he showed me. They needed anti theft tags (you know those tags on clothes/high priced items that'll set off an alarm if they're taken out of the store while still attached to the item) so Bear showed me wear to find them and put them on (he worked as a cashier before switching to the overnight team). Then I helped him put up the no homes and upstock. He's getting sick again (probably the pneumonia from a few weeks ago making a comeback) so he had hard time going up and down the ladder, so I tried to carry more than one box and hand them to him. If the boxes were too heavy for me to carry more than one I would set it on the third step from the top of the ladder that way he wouldn't have to walk up and down. The only time he had to come down for a box was this really big box I wouldn't have been able to set down on a step. At one point while doing all this I ended up dropping a heavy box on my pinky as I was setting it on the ladder and it smashed it. Thankfully, it didn't break but it did hurt. My boss was checking up on us and heard me yelp. Both her and Bear asked what happened and if I was okay. All I said was, "I just dropped the fucking box on my finger!" The thing is, when you're doing stuff like this, you should expect to get hurt. Last month I cut my thumb open with my knife opening up a box. And there was a time my back and the back of my head slammed into a silver cart my boss was taking back to receiving. Yeah, I know this won't be the last time I get hurt working here. Not to mention I'm a klutz. So long as I don't end up seriously hurt I should be fine.

After work my boss, Bear and I decided to enjoy a nice breakfast out together as a group. We went to the same place we went to when my boss and some of my coworkers helped Bear and I move. I wanted something other than pancakes or french toast and I saw they had a country fried steak breakfast so I got that. It was so good, I love country fried steak. My boss and I ended up with left overs while Bear ate all of his. I like being able to do stuff like that. Sometimes, after working so hard (no matter how much you have to work ya still have to work hard) ya just need to decompress and eat some good food. After saying that, how the HELL am I so skinny?

Last night was a bit tougher than the previous night. We had a much bigger truck (2100 pieces) and we ended up with a bit left over. Hardware got mostly completed though. I only have one item on a silver cart that actually has a spot and the rest is presumed "no home" (either has a spot and the person that marked it was just too lazy to look it up or it actually doesn't and needs to be put up in the no home overhead bay) and I need to double check all of it. It's for that reason I always have a couple of Sharpie pens on me, so when I do double check I can mark down whether an item is actually no home or it's aisle and bay number (and if need be sku number) if it does have a home. After I put away whatever I already had off the cart, I went into a different aisle and did a couple of shopping carts that had some stuff in them. I only got through one before I was instantly logged out of my work phone at 5:15. I took that cart and the other cart that just had trash in it back to receiving, on the way I met up with my boss who just had me grab the garbage from other aisles and throw it in either the compactor (actual garbage) or the baler (cardboard). I was already half way done when Bear came back and tried to help me. I told him I was already half way done so he left to do something else. When I finished separating everything into their respective places and putting away the silver carts, I took the shopping carts up front and went looking for my boss while checking down aisles making sure there wasn't any trash I had missed or if anyone needed help.

I couldn't find my boss but I found Bear and asked where she was. He didn't know and just told me to clock out because he didn't see anything else that needed to be done. I went to clock out and I found my boss in the break room and I asked her if she needed me to do anything else before I clocked out. We took a quick walk and didn't see anything that I could do (although there was stuff for other people) so she had me clock out. Yeah, work was pretty uneventful. My phone lasted longer last night, up until just before last break, and I had my charger with me so by the time I clocked out it was fully charged. I still think I need new one though.

Work was really...easy last night...We didn't have a lot to put away, I was in hardware (again) and then was only like 2 or 3 silver carts that were barely full. There was three of us, my coworker with the broken hand came back with two bands (???) on his ring and pinky fingers holding them together, so we got everything in the shelves/upstocked before lunch. Then I did some really easy bays, my boss helped me put stuff up and take stuff down, until about 5. Then I went to help another coworker, the one I worked with in electrical, get cleaned up. My last task was to go around getting any garbage I saw and taking it to the guys in receiving so they can put it in the bailer. It finished that up clocked out at about 5:40-ish.

While I was waiting for my boss to finish, I went with Bear to the self checkout and bought an umbrella because it's supposed to be raining all this week. What I didn't expect was for HIM to buy me the CUTEST little Jack Skellington greeter! He knows I am absolutely OBSESSED with The Nightmare Before Christmas (I mean I literally have TNMBC pj pants, TNMBC socks and a TNMBC backpack [I had a pair of limited edition boots but they fell apart so I had to throw them away]) and Jack is my favorite character (my second favorite is Zero, Jack's little ghost doggy). He bought it and handed it to me and I had a tiny freak out. I cuddled it the entire time I was waiting for my boss. A few morning crew people saw it and asked if Bear got it for me and I just smiled and nodded. One of the morning crew cashiers, who's really nice to me and Bear, told him "I don't think you're gonna get any lovin' after that." And he replied, "yeah, I think I made a mistake with that." Lol. Of course he's gonna get some lovin', he remembered how much I love Jack Skellington and got me a greeter of him. My boss saw it and didn't say anything until we got in the car, "I think you were trying to flirt with her getting her a gift." Bear just said, "yep, she's pretty obsessed with Jack." Now Jack stands right by my side of the bed guarding the door and holding his pumpkin.

On another note, my phone has been acting like a little bitch. Before my phone's battery would last my entire shift on a single charge. Then it would only hold up until after last break. And then last night it didn't even wanna last to lunch. Bear says it's cause my brightness is all the way up, but I've been doing that since I got the phone. And besides it's not like it's turned on. I'm not watching a video, I'm listening to a podcast. I've had this phone for over a year so who knows maybe it's time for a new phone. If it is, I'm getting a Samsung instead of LG. Samsung is better and has cuter accessories. For now I'm just gonna go back to carry my phone charger in my backpack like I did at my last job.

Work went really well Saturday night even though there was only five of us. There would have been six but someone broke their some days ago and has been out because of it. I just worked whatever residual there was while others did other stuff (Bear had to help my boss clean receiving). My boss had made some barbecued chicken and we put it into sandwiches along with green beans and some cookies she brought. Bear brought home whatever was left over. The fifth person with us was the coworker that wasn't there a couple nights before because of migraine. He doesn't normally work Saturdays but he enjoyed it (probably because he got fed, lol).

I moved my desk and laptop from the bedroom to living room area so, hopefully, soon I will start recording video/audio for my YouTube channel and podcast. I wanna make it so that every Friday I upload my video and podcast to YouTube and Spotify and after I update the blog. I also want to slowly introduce new things like weekly lives. And once Bear and I get a car, I want to get a PO box that way people can send me stuff and I can open it live. I want any money I get from this coming from my YouTube channel, I'm only doing the podcast/blog for anyone who wants to listen to/read it. I know I like listening to my true crime podcast at work since the next episode automatically plays (and I have premium so there aren't ads) and other people may like to do with my relationship advice content.

Once I record I'll update it here and also make a video for TikTok that I would then share across all my social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat). First, I need to find a good audio/video editing software that is compatible with my laptop. I'll have to have Bear help me look for one since he owned this laptop before he gave it to me. He also knows more about this kind of stuff then I do. I'll also have him teach me stuff (ie put in screenshots) that way I won't have to rely on him to all my editing. If I did that and we broke up I would have to end it all and I don't wanna do that. Hopefully I can start recording either Sunday or Monday. We'll see!

Work last night was about the same as usual. I was put back in hardware but at least my coworker was there today so more stuff got knocked out. We didn't start working on it until a bit before close because receiving crew wasn't done working out all the product yet, so I was tasked to just grab some boxes from the back and put whatever items they had away. I had two big, but light, boxes in my little shopping cart that said they were mixed SKU's for electrical but that was wrong. Both of those boxes had me going around the entire store putting stuff away. I had to ask Bear a couple times where something was (for instance RC which is where we put all of our batteries) because I wasn't familiar with it. Even though the boxes didn't have a lot of stuff in them it took me a while because I had to walk around the store and stop a couple of times to ask Bear where something goes. But I did finish before close and start up on hardware. And, like I said, my coworker who normally works hardware was there so that helped (also I was hyped up on coffee so I was more awake than normal and able to work faster).

After last break (for those who don't know, or don't remember, I get three breaks [first break at midnight, lunch at 1:30, and last break at 3:45]) I put out whatever boxes I had in my shopping cart and worked them. Once I finished (which was sometime before 5) I started cleaning up and my boss transferred whatever left over boxes I had onto a silver cart she had that didn't have much on it so that I could use my silver cart for trash. I took my cart back and then went around seeing if there were any other carts (whether they had trash or items on them) and took them back. I took any shopping carts to front and then, before clocking off, did I final walk through to make sure everything was good.

The day before a couple of coworkers, and Bear, were planning to go to a bagel shop that's really close by where we work (like literally across the street). They ended up inviting everyone that was working last night and all of us, except for one, went. Even my coworker's (the one I help with bays at times) boyfriend who usually ends up flaking out at the last minute went. We went to the bagel shop and instantly notice there weren't many places to sit inside and eat. My coworker's boyfriend said that this was the only bagel shop in the franchise in Utah to not allow patrons to sit inside and eat. We asked an employee if we could possibly bring a table inside so we can eat and she was really rude. She said we couldn't eat inside (and she sounded really angry and annoyed) and didn't give us an explanation when we asked why. There was a long table in front of the windows by the door with some tall chairs and another small table with two chairs by it and we all sat there and ate. The employee kept looking back at us and we all just stared her down because it was cold outside and we wanted to be able to eat our bagels and talk with each other. Besides, Bear said it went against their corporate's policy to not allow us to sit inside and eat. It was literally the only bagel shop in its franchise in Utah not to allow customers to sit inside and eat.

After everyone was done (I had an avocado toast on a plain bagel and saved half of it for later) we all said our goodbyes and left. A couple of my coworkers said they would try and come in tonight for a little bit. Which is good because we could use some extra hands on Saturdays (so long as its not too many people that way my boss can still make food for us [she enjoys acting like mom and feeding us guys so don't take that wrong way]). Tonight she said she would try and make some barbeque chicken since Bear really wants some (she does take suggestions). We'll see if she was actually able to though.

Work last night was a bit much. I was placed in hardware while Bear went to electrical (I assumed it was because it was his first day back from vacation and my boss wanted to make it a bit easier for him). I was supposed to be working with one of my coworkers that mainly does hardware but he never came in due to a bad migraine (even though he said he'd be in). I had a cart that was split between two aisles. So when I finished the aisle it was first in I had to move it three aisles down to the other aisle to finish it up. Since I mainly work electric I had a hard time finding where most of the stuff in hardware went, so that ONE cart took my entire shift to finish. Not to mention, Bear kept taking my work phone so I had to rely mostly on the SKU numbers which takes forever. I don't know why my boss didn't just take people from other departments that were finishing up and had them help me, especially knowing that I don't work this department enough to know where everything goes. She had put someone in but not too soon after they finished one little itty bitty cart, they were gone and I was stuck with the over flowing carts full of heavy shit. I also had to waste time finding my boss because I forgot the combination to the locks due to (again) not working in that department long enough for them to stick in my head! I asked Bear where she was because I forgot the combination and he told me it. While I was taking off the lock and putting the item in he came up and told me to just ask the person I was supposed to be working with and I told Bear that the person still hadn't shown up. All the stuff in that department would have been over 6 hours for one person to work that knows that department and over 3 hours for two people that know it. But for someone that doesn't know it very well, had to look for someone to get the combination for the locks from because they forgot it and that's doing it BY THEMSELVES, ONE SINGLE CART will pretty much take their entire shift so they end up with shit left over for the next day. It's ridiculous, I should have been paired with someone (and I WAS but they never came)! There also should have been a back up plan. Ugh, I NEVER wanna go through that again.

Work last night was pretty brutal. The truck wasn't super big but most of it was for my department, with most of that going to a SINGLE aisle. Since that was the only stuff out for a teeny bit I decided to just work it. While I was working my aisle I witnessed the most DISGUSTING thing ever! A man came in with his shopping cart, walks past my aisle stopping just a bit before the first bay enough for me to see him, and straight up SPITS on the FUCKING FLOOR. I didn't want to believe that what I saw was real so I went and looked. Sure enough there was SPIT on the floor. One of the managers was walking by at the other end of the aisle so I went and told him. I was confused about what I had said so I repeated it and took him to show him where it was. He said it was gross and cleaned it up. I tried to describe the man but I'm not very descriptive (also it was hard to pay much attention when you watch someone do something like that and the person quickly walks away). After that I just went back but I have been reeling over it ever since. I mean it's just so fucking gross! When the store closed I turned on my true crime podcast (I like having something to listen to while I work that isn't my job's repetitive music).

The people that came a couple weeks ago (the ones that damn near ran over Bear TWICE) came in again last night to work on the wifi, and apparently they were really rude. I don't really interact with them so I don't know.

We got finished pretty late so I didn't get home until almost 7, but when I got home there was a shrimp chicken meal from Applebee's waiting for me. I ate the shrimp and mashed potatoes but I didn't like the chicken so I let Bear have it. I managed to go to sleep early enough for me to wake up at 4 so I could go get my pets food. Bear returns to work tonight so I hope work get a little bit easier with him back.

Work last night went really well. The truck wasn't really all that big, most of it ended up in my department, but it was all worked fairly quickly. After I finished my stuff I went to work on some bays in the first aisle. Since I can't climb ladders I had either my boss or a coworker get stuff do for me and put stuff back up. Not a whole lot went out, mainly our colored light bulbs went back up, but I still got plenty of stuff put on the shelves and the overhead somewhat organized before 5. While my boss was putting back the last of stuff she wanted me to work, she sent me to take care of my garbage and then help one of my coworkers who was fixing up some of the end caps (the ends of the aisles). He was just finishing up his last end cap when I found him (only had a couple boxes of brackets for the sawhorses to put up), but I helped him with his garbage and handed him the brackets to put on the shelf. We got done with everything so early, it was 5:45 when we left and I got home just after 6. Bear was surprised to see me home so early since it's very rare that we finish and leave before 6. We're usually not out until 6:30.

When I left for work yesterday I found a pay or vacate notice on our door. At first I was furious, because I believed we still had a few more days to pay our rent, and I texted Bear as soon as I got to the train station. Then I thought about it and looked back at the email about our rent. It turns out we got the date wrong. Now I want to be clear, when I first saw the email I was either going to sleep or waking up (either way I was sleepy). But the format they used for the date was weird. They used the European format (day/month/year) instead of the American format (month/day/year) and we didn't catch that until we got the notice. We went to the leasing office to apologize, mainly because Bear had sent a really heated email to them after I texted him (he has Asperger's so when he feels emotions [more so negative emotions] it's amplified by a lot), and we explained to them that we paid most of it last night and the rest would be paid tonight when I get paid. Bear managed to get them to take off the late fees since it was our first offense and totally our fault for misreading the date. So instead of owing over 1500 due to late fees I only owed enough for my rent and since I paid over 1200 of it last night I only owe a little over 160. As long as it all gets paid we will be fine and still have our apartment. yay.

Work went well on Saturday. I put away whatever stock I had left from Friday and then helped a coworker with her stuff. My boss did bring in the barbecued ribs and they were amazing. She also brought some instant mashed potato cup thingies, baked beans and some cookies she baked. The cookies were too sweet for me so I only had the one I tried. I did take home some barbecued ribs for Bear. I put them in a little Tupperware container my boss had brought from home so I do need to give it back. I also brought one of the instant mashed potato cup thingies but I ended up eating it because he didn't want it. He enjoyed the ribs, though. I brought enough for us to share.

I found a true crime podcast during my last hour or so of work. I wasn't going to look for one since we can longer have earbuds in and I didn't want to get trouble in case someone walked by and heard, "her legs were cut off, her eyes were cut out, she was beheaded..." But my boss doesn't care as long as its not super gorey, so I found one called True Crime with Kendall Rae on Spotify. I listened to about an episode and a half on Saturday and will continue it when we close tonight. I enjoy true crime stories. I like to speculate who the killer was. Is it the boyfriend? The jealous best friend? The butler?! Lol.

Work last night was a bit much. The truck wasn't as big as the last one but my department got most of it (over 10 hours). The usual person I work with doesn't work on Fridays so I was paired with someone else, which was pain because they don't know electrical that well. We had about 4 pallets (about 2 of which were flown to a different part of the store because they were heaters) and multiple silver carts. I didn't even get to finish one aisle because it had so much crap (most of which was for only 2 bays), so what I didn't finish got put back on the cart and will be done tonight. At least it's Saturday so we don't get a truck tonight. And since it's Saturday my boss is bringing in food. I believe she said it will be barbecued ribs. I'll bring home a plate for Bear since he liked the sound of it when she brought a couple days ago when she brought us home after going grocery shopping. I wonder if she'll have any mashed potatoes or potato salad with it. That would be great. Can't wait!

Do you work in the warehousing industry??? You sound tired and worn out.

I work as an overnight freight associate (overnight stocker) for Home Depot. Whenever I write I have usually just woken up like a couple hours prior so that may be why I sound tired in my journals. Also lifting heavy boxes all night would wear anyone out.

Work last night went well. Had a pretty good sized truck, my department would have had 6 1/4 hours worth of stuff if I had done it by myself but split that between 2 people and I was done a little before lunch time. Once I finished up my stuff I got with my boss and she had me take care of a couple of shopping carts that had little things in them, one was mixed aisles and the other was for hardware. I got done with both of those quickly too. Then, I was sent to paint to help a couple of coworkers (these two coworkers are the only other couple at my store besides Bear and I). When we were getting ready to load the Ballymore to put stuff back into the overhead, my manager pulled me to take care of the garbage and carts. After I went back and helped put stuff on the Ballymore.

When I got in from my first break I went to talk to my boss about getting me Ballymore trained. I want to get trained on how to use it so I don't have to bother others when I have upstock, I can just do it myself. She told me I had to take a drug test and we did that when I came in from my last break. It was weird because the swab had a hard and soft side (the hard side went against my cheek and the soft was towards my tongue). It felt really weird. I had to hold in it my mouth for 10 minutes while my boss took down my ID information and I signed off on it. I'm not worried about it because I already know it's gonna come back clean. She also gave me a form I need to have signed by a neurologist. It's an accommodation form since I can't climb the ladders due to my epilepsy. I didn't question it since they probably do it because people may have lied in the past about having a disability so they would get out of doing something they didn't want to. Good thing I have health insurance now. All I need to do is find a good neurologist, which I can do through my health insurance's app.

Work went really well last night. We got everything from the previous truck out and worked, and I don't think we got a truck last night so that's a good thing (everyone would've been pissed if we did). Everything got done early so most of us were just taking the silver carts (the big carts that are used to take merchandise from receiving to the floor) back, helping out with the garbage/cardboard in receiving, or taking the empty shopping carts from receiving back to the front doors. I was sent to work out a silver cart that still had some small boxes on it (along with some ladders but I didn't have to do those) and it turned out someone had already done the little boxes. I told my boss and she sent me to help one of my coworkers who was putting stuff back into an overhead after she completed her last bay. After we took her garbage back to receiving and checked in with my boss. I looked over at Bear, who was finishing up with the garbage he already had, and he was breathing heavily (his legs were also bothering him because of the muscles). I asked if he needed some water and he went and grabbed one from the mini fridge under the desk in receiving (we have multiple mini fridges stocked with water around the store). I told him since he was out for a week he shouldn't overwork himself, just take it little by little til he gets his strength back. But he won't listen to me, he's so stubborn. I get he wants to work and earn his paycheck but it shouldn't be at the price of his health. I love Bear, I really do, but he needs to learn how to take care of himself. He's 32 years old, his body isn't the same as it was when he was in his 20s. I can run around and do a lot of shit because I'm 21, but I also know what I am not able to do. And if I know I can't do something or lift something, I ask for help. Bear just needs to learn how to do that until he is able to do the stuff he used to be able to do before he got sick. I'm relieved he starts his vacation today. He'll be out until either next Thursday or Friday. I suggested our apartment complex has to get back into shape. I'll even go with him on my days off. I hope he listens to me this time and goes work out. Even lifting weights and walking on the treadmill will help. I swear sometimes it feels like I'm dating a mule because he's so stubborn. But I do love him and want what's best for him.

Work last night was...odd... We had a really large truck and it arrived late. Like LATE, late. We expected it to arrive at around 11pm (when the store closes) but it came at about 2AM (maybe sooner). All I know is at 3am the entire overnight crew, that wasn't helping out with unloading the truck, was called into receiving for a brief meeting about how to work the truck with the little time we had. My department (electrical) just did one little itty bitty silver cart. Others either got a cart roughly the same size or a pallet. Before the truck came we just did our bays. Since I can't climb ladders (I have a disability that prevents me from doing so) I just fixed up all the crappy looking bays. Turned the wrecked up bays into nice, neat, organized ones. Bear returned to work last night (wearing a mask as a precaution) and was put in garden that way he could slide the mask down to breathe. I saw that they were finally putting all the Halloween stuff out on the floor and got super happy. I fucking LOVE Halloween. It's spooky season guys!
