Pain



I am sick of the feelings that I feel.

The tears I shed.

They aren't worth the energy,

But,

They continue to fall.

I wish to rip my heart from

My chest.

Throw it on the floor,

Stomp it to pieces.

Then I wouldn't feel.

I wouldn't need to remind

Myself that I will

Be okay.

That this pain

Will pass.

That one day,

In time,

I will be able to smile again.

To lift my head high.

The pain that cripples.

That tears at the heart.

Rendering even the strong

Weak and powerless.

I just wish for the tears to stop.

For the stupid little things

That remind me of you to

Disappear.

So I can move on.
