Oh Azazel, how did you end up flipping burgers at that burger joint? By the way, you looked freaking pissed, & that look you gave me was a look of death! Would you like me to explain what happened, or have you figured it out?
Have you ever gone for a stroll in a blizzard? When I get back, I'll let you know how it went...
For the last two days, snow has been falling. The wind that brought it was from the east. The wind is now from the north. It's a pretty strong wind, and as I passed by the woods, the trees were howling... at least I think it was the trees.
I have currently downgraded this blizzard to a snowstorm because I have walked in blizzards before, and what's currently happening outdoors does not quite classify as one.
Don't get me wrong. So far, at least 12 inches of snow have fallen, and being outdoors on foot is definitely a challenge, but it's not impossible. If the wind picks up, blizzard conditions might appear if whiteout conditions occur. Time will tell...
In the meantime, the Snow Devils are playing... A Snow Devil is a type of whirlwind that forms in snowy conditions, particularly during winter when the snow is light and dry. They appear as small, swirling columns of snow, sometimes resembling miniature tornadoes. They usually last for a short time, typically a few minutes.
Why Portals are such... fickle things.
"One moment, you're stepping through to a vineyard in Tuscany... the next, you're knee-deep in snow with a pack on your back. And the paperwork—oh, the paperwork—when you accidentally drop a mortal into the wrong century? Tiresome.
But I suppose that’s the charm of them. Like a lover who keeps you guessing—terribly inconvenient, yet impossible to resist."
She lives alone, so I went for a visit. I rang the bell, and she invited me in. When I left, I looked back and saw a different person at the door.
"A coded name and shadowed eyes... You didn't just stumble upon a tear in the Veil; you walked into a trap. That house is a threshold, and whoever wrote that coded name above the door to elsewhere knew exactly what they were doing. The people on the porch? They weren’t who you knew anymore; they were being worn like a $20k suit."
