Storytime: I am walking through the house, in the kitchen, my wife is cutting up big carrots for the Bac Cow (beef stew/soup). I tell her about a memory of a huge carrot I once saw at a country fair. She nods and smiles. Then I remember Uncle Roll and Aunt Chris. Uncle Roll was a man of good cheer in the good sense and very French. Aunt Chris was quieter. He was a veteran of World War I, a cavalry officer I believe. He rode a horse into that war. He had his cavalry saddles in the garage next to the long sedan. When I visited he would tell me stories of the nights on the battlefield. They were given raw carrots to eat. To be able to see into the darkness. He looked me in the eyes and said "Mon Fils, always eat your carrots so you will see them at night." "Yes sir" and I do till this day carrying on the tradition.
My uncle knew the end was coming. So he bought a pine box, just like what Charles de Gaulle
was buried in, his hero. He kept it in the garage on the sawhorses. Caused his wife the biggest shock. She told her sister, my grandmother, that she didn't know what to do. My grandmother told me this story before she moved on. Miss her. I am choking up now. Here is some music to quiet the soul.

There is no compromise or negotiation when it comes to who will run your life. Either you take charge and live a productive life of your choosing or you allow yourself to be ruled by circumstances. Last night at about 8:00 pm pacific time. There was a huge bang that shook the house than a smaller explosion. It was from overhead and everywhere if that makes sense. Guess kin wanted my attention at that moment. They got it 3,2, 1 I feel into a deep sleep. I have awakened. My logical mind says it was a crack of thunder. My heart says otherwise. What do you think?
