Busy and productive Sunday.
Fixed a network outage. Rescued a hard drive for a client. Fixed a website. Took care of the kids.
A model I work with was looking for a make-up artist that could do FX make-up - hooked her up with a MUA I just started working with within 30 minutes.
I'm pretty damn good at this networking stuff.
Now I'm about to make shrimp alfredo and garlic bread....
*fist pump*
I rule.
Hmm...
Spring vacation with the kids in Florida, with an old friend and his kids?
Going to have to look into this one...
Want to win your way to a woman's heart on-line?
Show her you know how to properly use a semicolon.
Just saying.

..that tip is good for women too. Just saying!
It does my heart a world of good to see anybody properly using grammar. Not to mention spelling everything correctly. I don't expect to see that anytime soon from most people; they do tend to type fast and hit the button before spellchecking more often than not.
Or, they type from their phone and actually trust the auto-correct.
I don't even trust spell check, much less auto correct- and what's really funny is that on the computer at work, it corrects for canadian spelling, so when I type in ya'll or any equivalent of southern-speak, it has a meltdown...lol
Does it just change everything to, "eh?" or "hey?"
It's fun to see my 7-year old actually settling into himself and finding what he is good at.
With just a little coaching... and him finally being able to be coachable, he's becoming quite the bowler. He decided against soccer this year, but instead has found new games and activities.
His current teacher used to run the GT program for the district before "No Child Left Behind (or Gets Ahead)" made it an unreasonable budget expense. For years I've listened to his mom worrying that he was ADHD and was going to end up on meds...
...he teacher said he would have been an ideal candidate for the GT program. He tests out to be very bright for his age... simply doesn't apply himself.
*sigh*
He is my mini-me...

Well, every man's dream is to have a mini-me.
Not me. Apparently I'm a pain in the ass and one of me in the world is enough...
C: Do skunks hibernate?
B: No, they don't really hibernate. But then again, neither do bears...
C: Really? They don't hibernate?
B: No, true hibernation is a prolonged state of depressed biological function. Skunks and bears will go into periods of rest, but will frequently be active during the winter.
C: Oh, so I guess it was in hiding.
B: Right. They den down together, but usually come out on warm days to eat, and they have to exit their den every so often to express their glands.
C: Ewww... like leaving to fart?
B: No, to spray...
C: Ewww....
B: And the males will exit the den every so often to prance, speak French and chase black cats that have consistent, yet unfortunate mishaps with white paint.
C: HAHA!
I should be a teacher..

Did they teach you that in church?

Oh. My. GAWD.
Such a fun weekend. It began with a Valentine's dinner on Friday night, since Thursday night just doesn't work around work every time.
We took in a new restaurant downtown in the theater district. She loved the place when we checked it out for an event a couple weeks before, so I thought it would make a nice, romantic place and would be special for her. We both had frustrating, exhausting weeks at work, so I decided some fun and play was in order.
I brought with us paper lunch bags, crayons, sharpies, scissors and blank cards. While we enjoyed this very classy, romantic restaurant, we received a few odd looks but mostly smiles from the staff and other patrons as we decorated Valentine's bags, just like you used to do in elementary school... and taped them to the side of our table, then filled each other's bags with hand-made Valentine cards.
Our server was all smiles and we laughed together throughout dinner at the silly and romantic things we would write to each other.
Great way to be creative, and unwind.
We took some photos later that night - if you frequent my blog, you'll notice the new header.
Saturday we spent the day hanging out mostly, before attending a networking event in the evening at.... the Roller Derby.
Yes, the Roller Derby.
What a fun time! Neither of us had ever been to a roller derby before and I will tell you, we will be going back. It was so much fun!
Today I got to hang out with one of my best friends and taught her how to make my spaghetti sauce. Drank a lot of wine, listened to music and just relaxed together...
Life is rich... life is good.

Well - at least someone had a great Valentine's Day - lol. The paper bags and home-made cards were a nice touch!
I love it...if you'll pardon the pun. That sounds like a great way to extend and celebrate (what Sav would call. "The holiest of all holidays".) lol
And the Roller Derby...wow. Did not take you for a Roller Derby kinda guy. Buy hey, I've been and even though I equate it to "Championship Wrestling". it was pretty awesome. Who doesn't love chicks kicking ass on wheels? It's kinda like going to Sonic and watching the waitresses break out into a cat fight. I'm glad you had a good time, B. You deserve a good time.
Thanks G.
I enjoy entertainment of all kinds. Some of those women were amazing. Able to get hit, stay on the track and moving in the right direction while balancing on one skate.
Incredible strength and agility. Very impressive.
And the nick-names they all go by are hilarious!
Some of them are downright hawt, too. If you don't believe me, ask me for a link to their bios.
Oh, I remember one, her name was, "Velvet Twat Mauve"....I guess that says it all. hehehehe
Just got home from a vendor meeting. They took us to a local, high-end steak house.
I'm so full...
So.... full....
Zzzzzz....
Since she came into my life...
...I have a work bench full of work. New projects are cropping up. She has even found some photography prospects. This weekend, she might even do some light modeling for me.
This week is full of activity, plus a weekend full of fun Valentine's Day activity. Dinner at a new restaurant down town. A fun Saturday night event.
There is positive energy everywhere. I can't remember the last time I felt this positive.
Since she came into my life...
...I've gone through an entire bottle of hot sauce. She might have a little hot sauce addiction...
...but my bar is still well stocked without replacing a thing... so there's that.
Tonight I'm going to enjoy listening to my Live T-Hip CD's at obnoxious volumes while working on computers, knowing this weekend will be amazing.

Good for you. :)
Hot sauce is always a good sign.
My left hip and groin is so sore today.... last night was one helluva workout.
...off to shoot engagement photos shortly. Then, who knows? The day is mine.
For that matter... life is mine.
Time to make this happen.
It's always so nice when friends you don't expect call you to find out how you are because they were worried about you.
I have some great friends!
The invite to hang out and go to industrial night was touching as well, but I already had an appointment tonight to be awesome.
Next time, bro. Next time.
Tonight is a crash course in "shit Birra does all the time."
Photography basics.
Photo finishing basics.
Making broken computers work again.
Cooking rice and seafood.
How to be awesome.
If you didn't register for the course, drop-add day will be Saturday. Be sure to put your name on the waiting list...

ME FIRST ME FIRST!!!
Wait....you can take a class on how to be awesome? Can you by any chance take a class on how not to be a douche canoe? Because I know somebody who really needs that class. Really!
I should offer that class - except you know the ones that really need it would never take it.
Slept in until 10:30.
Woke up wonderfully.
Made breakfast burritos with bacon, rice, peppers, broccoli, cheese, salsa... and plenty of hot sauce.
*sigh*
This weekend needs to be a few days longer. And by a few, I mean, about 363.

Know what you mean- had the last 3 days off with snow and I have stayed home. I could do this for a month, easy.
Okay, would one of you people PLEASE send whatever snowstorm/sleet storm/BLIZZARD storm ya'll are having out there to me so I can have some of this time off thing too???
It's just snowing a bit here, a bit there...
No blizzards, although driving home from Niagara Falls Saturday morning was interesting to say the least. White-outs on the highway, cars strewn about in all sorts of states of concrete induced disrepair.
It was fun playing, "Dodge the idiots."
LOL
