...I remember seeing them in 1988 as one of the headliners for the Mosters of Rock tour...
...it was a strange and magical time.
...my kids have discovered and become fans Harry Potter. It has started to influence their play, their make-believe... even their insults to each other...
E: If you were at Hogwarts, you would be in the fifth house that they never talk about. The house of Weird and Annoying. And your house colors would be bronze and barf!
Yeah... always entertaining.

LOVE your kids, they are simply like their Dad- awesome! :D
hahaha that is too funny... xD
Yep, that's how it's been in my house since Christopher was around 3. He's had the Harry costume for years and still runs around the house wearing the Gryffindor cape. It's the main thing he's gotten into and never grew out of. Harry Potter remains 'cool'. He's watched all the movies a zillion times each, then read the seven books last year.
It colors his insults as well- if he's being tickled the death and feels like he's going to fart, just prior to doing so he says, 'Gaseous Extractus!'
Busy weekend ahead. Lots to finish up from Friday.
I'll be running... wish me luck.
Of course, I mean... Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
I'm eating a grapefruit.
I don't think I have ever eaten a whole grapefruit just by itself before.
I think I'm recognizing why...
Good thing I'm really f'ing hungry...
I have such good kids.
Even through the total frustration of tonight, they stuck by me - working with me at a customer site to get a job done tonight - we were there until 8:30.
The customer saw my car was still there and said hi. He likes kids; I've not yet met a customer that doesn't like my kids. They listen and are well behaved once they are outside of my office or their house or someplace they're comfortable and familiar with...
We actually left his office looking as though we were never there to begin with.
With the exception that there are wall plates and network jacks covering what were earlier holes in the walls and bare wires hanging out... but that's kind of what he was paying me for...
...I just became a Facebook fan of the Buffalo Jills - the Bills' cheerleaders.
Honestly, the way they do cheerleading these days, they're a brass pole and a skimpy outfit away from being strippers.
I'm sure men in the front row would throw dollar bills at them if they actually did go topless...

AAAWWW you know you just go to see then shake there "Pom Poms"
LOL! So true!
I've keep a real-time seismic monitor open on my desktop ever since the end of June when an Earthquake centered near Ottawa was felt here in Buffalo.
I am astounded... literally... at how many Earthquakes occur on a daily basis globally.
There were 8 today in the Pacific rim... 13 yesterday world wide.
374 total in the last 30 days...
For some reason, it blows my mind.
Pictures below….
Today, Morri, my kids and I went into downtown Buffalo for the annual “Taste of Buffalo” event, which is advertised as the largest two-day food festival in the United States. The weather was perfect, the crowds were… large! And the food was awesome. For this festival, the restaurateurs generally prepare the food right on the spot – no trucking in pre-made stuff and trying to keep it tasting and feeling good – they actually cook during the festival.

Reads and looks like an awesome day.
How'd you like the crawfish?
They were good. I think they were a bit confusing for the kids at first - they're more used to crab legs...
I thought you were going to post my psycho face picture.
I've got a rep to protect man.
Looks like a lot of fun! :)
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Kabobs... oh god those looked good. :)
Glad to see you all had fun. And sounds like a great place to be on a wonderful day- food, fun, family, and the one you love.
...people have made comments about my picture that is being used in Visual Echoes advertisements here on VR. Although I'm flattered, I have to say, the other models in their other ads are a LOT... and I mean A LOT hotter and sexier.
Yowsa.

It's the words DARK SEXY that did it for me. WOO!
That may be so,but its all about the effect. That pic has it.
I just went and look at all the pic,s and much say They are wonderful , The Photographer is truly amazing , the Girl Sarah Is A great model Very photogenic , but I agree with everyone else yours is very Hot.
Mhm...I agree...hawt!
Yeap... it is the eyes, the darkness, shadow. HOT!
Have to say it is also the best looking ad all around that this site has had since I have been here. :)
Diggin' the new couch. I'm sure it won't be long before it will be seen with one of Morri's beautiful models lounging on it. :)
Yes, Morri was right - spraying the tree was the correct thing to do. Had to say that.
She also got her red couch she's been waiting for. It was quite a steal - we were working together installing a new network at a LAZBOY store and they had this awesome red couch marked down from $1400 to $300. We couldn't pass it up - however, that store was about 280 miles away. Can't quite fit a couch in a Jetta - but the store owner generously delivered it last night since he had to come to Buffalo anyway. It's going to look so good in the bar room - and for photoshoots.
I'm awaiting the line of storms that are supposed to be hitting us at any moment. The look pretty tame, but the cold front is supposed to get our temps back into the 70F (20C) range... which will be nice.

HER red couch? Oh man, funeral music for the committed soul.
;)
I think you mean "Pai's red couch."
Thoth - true dat.
Mobius - I just think she's excited to have it. She has been talking about using it in photoshoots.
Personally, I just want to park my ass on it and watch a hockey game in comfort and style. :)
It is one of my favorite words in the English language. I need to find more ways to work it into conversations...

...ever so slowly... creeping... moving... advancing... like the glaciers of long ago....
...mmmm... glaciers. Ever wonder what life really was like during a time in history such as a great ice age? Ever consider the vast changes our planet has seen through the billions of years it has been spinning on its orbit around the tiny star we call the sun?
It boggles my mind at times...
But speaking of which, it reminds me of this story, where a farmer from the midwest was driving through New England. On his journey he noticed a farmer struggling to plow his field which was full of large rocks. He stopped the car and got out to talk to the farmer, and he asked, "Why do you have all these big rocks in your field?"
The Northern farmer replied, "Thousands of years ago this area was covered by great glaciers, which moved these rocks and left them here."
The Midwestern farmer asked, "Well, where did the glaciers go?"
The Northern farmer looked thoughtfully for a moment and then stated, "Well, I don't know. But I sure hope they didn't go back to get more rocks!"
...it's supposed to cool down back to highs in the 70's (20's Celsius wise) on Friday. Thank gawd. These highs pushing or over 90's - ugh. This is Buffalo people... it's not supposed to get that hot. The white people are melting!
COMMENTS
I really find this funny. It has been in the high 70s down here all weekend. Was a nice change. xD
pfffttt....our lows are in the mid 70's, and it's mid 90's all week with at least 50% humidity.
ick.
But see, that is why I live in Buffalo. 90's a rare.
I'm going to be screwed when the sun starts to expand...
It's 98 degrees here in Boston- with humidity it feels like 110... I am actually really stupid but I am baking today and didn't even think about using the outside grill in our yard til just now...
lol
See, that's why I get so tickled at the Canadians I am surrounded by. It gets up to the mid 80's, good breeze, low 50's at night in the summer, and these people are screaming about how HOT it is. I just laugh, and tell them until they have gone through 2 months of temps over 100 degrees, with 90% humidity, while 3-7 months pregnant, they don't know SHIT from hot....lol
But then again, I moved here to be with the man I love, and some of the SERIOUS perks is low heat, low humidity, no hurricane season...lol
A single sigh from Joli carries more weight than a novel written by most people...
...since there has been a lot of talk lately in the box about underage sex and what it means, I present to you a map of world-wide age of consent:
COMMENTS
Very interesting, I didn't even know that it's not 18 all over the USA. Thank you for that...
Funny thing about the 16 in my state is one stipulation. with parental consent
this was very interesting , I never thought about looking that up.Very smart.
I think it's more of a cultural shocker to people who grew up within a society that bases people's maturity levels on a set age group rather than the individual's actual maturity setup.
For instance- a lot of places will not hire a teenager, even if the teenager in question is highly reliable and dependable, but because they are under 21 most employers see a child rather than that person's actual maturity level and rather than see them for who they are, they categorize them within the age group they just so happen to fall into.
I have had a coworker who grew up in a society where her family arranged for her to be married at 13 years old. She has 3 children and has been married to her husband for 10 years. When people ask her about it and she tells them that she is 23 and has been married for 10 years, a lot of the time they refer to her parents as people who sold their daughter into marriage for money. She has even been asked if she was sold as a sex slave because of her age. She has stated that to her it is normal to be married at that age and that 13 is actually pretty old in her society to even begin to be married, that most are married between the ages of 9 and 11, and doesn't think of it being wrong, but for most people in our society it is out of the norm for them, and that is usually what gets people's panties in a bunch- it doesn't follow a particular norm they have grown accustom to.
But I think in a way it's understandable, if you grew up being told your hair should always be short and kept natural you would grow up thinking it wasn't normal for people to grow their hair out and to dye it all the colors of the rainbow. It's the norm of a society to see differences in other cultures and to pick out what they believe to be wrong in it, should it differ from ones own beliefs and understandings, and shun those who are in "the wrong" or make a huge commotion about it.
I think it's those who step out of the norm and recognize those differences that make it a much easier place for people to be who they are rather than try to fit in and change what they believe in order to be apart of a crowd.
That's my two cents on it. ;)
Well stated.
I'm glad someone gets it. :)
And now, in the words of Morri, how do I turn myself into a whore and a bitch?
Hmmm...
COMMENTS
But be careful, because the two are often combined and become... A bore.
*bows*
some make it into a career
Hmmm.Well? There are a few perfect examples around here.
idk if guys have that ability. At least not straight guys.
Hencetoforth lies the challenge.
Please don't first you would look really funny, and second you would lose a lot of friends , nice guys don't make good whore's or bitches, besides your wrist isn't limp enough.
Man whores are an established gender anywhere you go....and believe me, some guys have elevated it to an ART FORM....lol
Hot and humid this morning - it feels good. Great day to do some out side work. Happy 5th of July.
Coincidentally, today's magic number is five.
I spoke to an old friend and business associate yesterday regarding some work I want her to do for my business. Our conversation quickly turned to business in general and we discussed the difficulties we’ve both had over the past almost two years.
Times were tough, but the one thing we kept telling each other, as peer support was, don’t give up. You can’t give up.
Easy advice to give – tough advice to follow. In business and in life.
I see it here with a lot of people; a relationship ends badly, feelings are hurt, depression sets in – then the inevitable “I GIVE UP!” statement. I know how that feels. There have been – still are – will be – moments in my every day where I want to shout, “I GIVE UP!” and go curl up under the futon as if that will solve anything.
Life isn’t for giving up – it is for living. No matter what is thrown in your lap you have to make the best of it.
Much, MUCH easier said than done when it feels like the world is kicking you in the ribs. I know. I know, I know, I know. But if no one says it to you, you just might stop saying it to yourself.
And if you stop saying it to yourself, you will find yourself saying, “I give up.”
So don’t give up. You can’t give up. There is no point in giving up.
Don’t give up.
Don't ever give up.

:)
It never fails to amaze me how we can give the best advice to others, but fail to see the necessity of it in our own lives. But then again, that is why we have friends to say it to us.....*grin*
Never give up! Never surrender!! :D
