Made a couple barbecued chickens tonight and had some friends over for dinner.
Have one left from the first batch and the next batch graduates next Sunday. I do believe we'll be having chicken at least once more this week...
...late night sammich. Ham.. turkey.. swiss... big slices of ripe tomato.
Simple pleasures. I do so appreciate the simple pleasures...
COMMENTS
mmmm I made sausage and cabbage stew with tomatoes.
Tell me you toasted it.
I did not, but it was on a nice thick whole wheat and oat bun...
♥ ! I love fresh bread with Vegemite. I'd rather have that than a fancy meal most of the time.
Ok, he is a good actor, but give Jack his credit for ALWAYS having been creepy. Regardless of the role.
COMMENTS
He's one of my favourite actors. He always has the right mad expression in his eyes, no matter the role.
So are you saying that you want to be the next Creepy VR Dude with your Creepy Jack Avatar?
;P
He has always been one of my top three male actors.
Considering his first role was in a horror movie, I'd say he was pretty much in for the haul...lol
...I know I have so much to do. But a morning like this... I just want to be lazy.
...today is a day of not making friends.
COMMENTS
LOL
Well I like you.
Looks like you've already made friends, sugar- guess you're just stuck with us.
Yeah, tough titty, man. :P We ain't leaving. ::puts feet up on the desk::
Oh, gods, your avatar is still thrusting ... >.o
I meant elsewhere. I think I pissed off a young model that friended me on FB.
Sad thing is, all I did was provide her an answer to a question she asked. My answer conflicted with one of her personal friend's answer to her question. He resorted to name calling when I refuted his opinion - and it was solely an opinion. I posted a reference that provided facts that conflicted with his opinion... he got pissier and even less mature... and of course, I'm the bad guy.
Oh well. I'll get over it.
Wow mass stupidity on the internet- how novel...lol
It could have been worse...
Like steaming bag of poo lit on fire on your door step, worse.
At least online you don't have to smell the shit people leave.
;P
Morri and I went to see a Pink Floyd tribute band tonight named Hey You. They put on a great show with a lovely backdrop being on a very scenic section of the Niagara-Erie Canal.
It is one of those little area gems few people talk about, and it made me want to get a kayak and go paddling down the Canal one of these days.
I'm thinking, hamburgers for dinner. Have smelled too many barbecues going on today.
He said the audio recordings of today's show would be available in a few days. He said that last time too. A month later they handed me CD's for every show from January, except the one I was on. Somehow, those recordings vanished forever.
The good news is I got the contract.
The less than good news is, due to some changing federal legislation that everyone has to adjust to, they no longer know when exactly I will be starting.
But now I have Monday and Tuesday to find more work to do - and yes, I will have plenty.
Quite often at my one job, I am required to grab a little set of foam ear plugs and use them because I need to walk by very loud machinery in a confined space. There are usually bins of new ear plugs somewhere nearby, but sometimes you have to walk all the way around the machinery (in some cases, it can be quite a distance) to get to the wall where the bin is hung.
Yesterday I got annoyed while walking all around one of the production lines looking for a phone that needed to be replaced. So I grabbed a handful of packages from the nearest bin just to have some in my pocket.
Now I have packages of ear plugs on my desk. I'm considering wearing them in the office all the time and just pretending I can't hear anything...
Intelligent design? FEH. How about A spider that is better than natural Viagara?
That is, if it doesn't kill you in the process...

... And I thought toad-licking was bad. :P
Wow is right. That's bizarre and kind of cool.
The weather was absolutely perfect today. I think it got up to about 82F, with a nice breeze from the lake. Right now the temp has dropped into the low 70s and the cool air feels so nice coming in through the open windows.
I missed a great photo opportunity today - driving home along the waterfront, the lake was filled with sailboats and the Edward Cotter was running a drill, spraying water from its gun hoses high into the air. The blue lake, white sails and fountains of water in the middle of it all... it would have been a great shot...
I need to travel with my camera everywhere, dammit.
...positive phone call to start the day. A better understanding of what is happening. I'm still holding my breath just a bit, but it is looking a bit more positive every day.
A great article from Cracked.com here.
Take it with a grain or perhaps even a shaker of salt.

hmmm...you know, you can probably find a link between any two events/situations, if you look hard enough...
Cool article though but I hated that film LOL
I didn't mind the film. It was beyond ridiculous, but sometimes that makes a good movie...
You can find anything, if you look hard enough.
It's a pretty broad and generic situation. Sort of like Nostradamus' predictions. . . . So vague you could apply them to most anything.
Made spicy orange chicken tonight. So yummy.

omg so good.
You ought to have a recipe section. . . .
I need a good picture to go with it.
Perhaps a swim in the creek tomorrow morning...
...I wonder if Zen can even be a meal replacement. I need to lose weight, too.
...I could get a VW Microbus and become a hippie...
...if not for that whole being bald thing.
And.. well.. yeah... not liking the Grateful Dead...
COMMENTS
get a wig or a hat and do Pink Floyd instead. Problem sorted. Oh yeah, don't wash either :P
or Morri could make some granola and you could go camping? It's almost the same. I've seen the The Dead a handful of times and I never went for the music... it was always for the parking lot shopping!
Joli's story reminds me of the classic....
A man walks into the TV Studio and proclaims, "You have to put me on the air! I'm going to be rich! I have the world's first talking dog!"
The station managers said, "Talking dog? Prove it."
The man responded, "Ok, I will asking him a series of questions that will prove he can talk!" He continued, "First question - if something is not smooth it is, what?"
The dog said, "Ruff!"
"Hear that? He said rough! Ok, next question - what goes on the top of a house?"
The dog said, "Roof!"
"Hear that?" exclaimed the man, "He said roof! Ok, last question - who was the greatest baseball player of all time?"
The dog said, "ROOF!"
"Ruth! He said Ruth! You have to put us on the air!"
The station manager promptly kicked them both out of the station... dejected, the man and the dog sat on the curb outside the station, when the dog turned to the man and said, "Maybe I should have said DiMaggio?"
...vanilla bean ice cream covered in peanutbutter and chocolate chip cookie crumbs is really good.
Thanks Faeriemoon!
Thanks US Postal Service.

I swear they were cookies when I put them in the box. :p
It was a box? It was delivered a bit... rounder than a box would be shaped...
I did something today that I rarely ever do... in fact, I usually try to avoid it for a multitude of reasons...
...I hope those of you who know and love me... can forgive me... even in time...
...I...
...made...
...fried potatoes for dinner.
*sob*
But of course, they were delicious...
COMMENTS
Do I get some, too?
;P
I am sure there was something else involved in dinner besides just potatos, yes?
And even if there wasn't- me too please?
Oh, definitely. Grilled corn on the cob, burgers and a stewed veggie mix, that I put on top of the potatoes.
being married to an Asian fucker who eats rice with everything I can appreciate a potato! I rarely get them. I especially like them fried in bacon grease (don't tell me bacon isn't a vegetable) with onions and peppers. Yum!
See, i prefer rice. Egg fried with veggies and teriyaki sauce...
...I normally loathe amusement parks. Typically hot, crowded with people who are oblivious to the fact anyone else exists, staffed by people who don't want to be there and seemingly don't care about their jobs...
There is actually a nice little amusement park nearby here called "Fantasy Island." Never overly crowded, but they do good business and always seem to have new rides every year. Only one adult sized roller coaster - lots of the typical spin until you puke rides. They cater more to the small kids and have an entire section of kids' rides, kids' activities - a great petting zoo where the keepers actually will teach the kids about the animals - a canoeing pond...
...I don't loathe going there. That is where I spent the day with the kids, celebrating my niece's birthday.
I have to hand it to my kids - I never got a flavor for amusement park rides. They're simply not enjoyable for me. And when I see ones like the new one they have there - the Mind Warp... and they want to go on this thing...
I applaud them for their chutzpha.
I spent most of the day trying to keep up with my kids and their cousins - the older ones that wanted to go on all the adult sized rides. I went on a few and did the obligatory going on rides with the youngest that he needs a parent to accompany him... but the day is a blur. Great memories, I just can't visualize so much of the past 10 hours in my mind...
I think I need some sleep...

GOOD DAY and then came in the word LOATHE.
Now that's fun!
PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES!
LOL I get sea-sick, vertigo and all these other stomach-churning things just thinking about a rollercoaster.
Roller coasters I adore-
The spin till you puke rides really do make me puke- primarily for the same reasons I can't play most video games...lol
Spent time doing what I've been missing.
Maybe simply revisiting that road can get me back on it...
...long day. I don't think I want to do anything too extreme tonight. Considering a cock show on webcam...
COMMENTS
Nope. Guess not. They're all huddled up for the night. I guess they had a long day too...
I saw "cock show" and was seriously confused for a moment...
Then again, rarely am I ever not confused.
You did that on purpose!
Tsk, tsk...
Sorry. I meant to say, "no pun intended."
LOL! and o.O...
SURE you did.......
tease.
The chickens weren't up for it either. No pun intended.
Maybe I'll get the new little ones on cam tomorrow sometime.
...because of that whole month change thing, it is annoying me that I have to keep changing months to go see this. So I am reposting it.

Cream Sunshine of your love ?
Very good, Pagan, but you have to un-Engrish the lyrics.
gimme two...

When lights close their tired eyes
I'll soon be with you my love
Excellent - good work!
Damn, not even two minutes after posting and it was already solved.
I miss them every time! heh

This is really bad because I am actually getting a melody from this- for the last line.. but I can't think of it. If I do before someone else gets it I will message it to you and forfeit the win so someone else can try :P
I was just joking, you can compete. Silly.
Renee and Renato Save your love?
No, that is not correct.
