Just finished photographing an event for Yelp.com again. This one was a Yelp promotion for their Elite members locally.
I enjoy these opportunities. This is one of the reasons I will walk around a party with a camera strapped to my hand: Making images, and capturing fun times and memories.
It also gives me the chance to socialize. I so need the opportunity to socialize right now.
After a long day of explaining to the people that I work with that my contract was cut short by three months and Friday is my last day... dealing with issues that keep looming over head... dealing with everything else that has been thrown at me in the last month... job hunting, trying to keep my head above water, even if barely... I'm fatigued. Beaten.
I'm not giving up... I'll never give up. But right now I'm hanging on the ropes waiting for the referee to count to eight.
He's been counting one... one... one... for quite a long time now. I hope when he gets to eight, my energy will return and I can get back in the fight.
Until then, I'm going to lean on the ropes a bit and see if I can't get my legs fully back underneath me.
Gloves up. Gotta protect.
Fuck it. I need sleep....

As someone who was until recently in the same shitty boat you are, trust me when I say when you least expect it, the right thing will come along. But something is going to test you to your eye teeth to make sure you really want it first.
