There is more than one kind of deafness

18:45 Dec 30 2006
Times Read: 1,153

Yes, I meant well...as I have explained and re-explained and will no longer attempt to do since you cannot hear me anyway. What is so frustrating as the desire to be understood by one who hears only their own thoughts. Go. Be well. It was a CONCERN expressed for you, offered in friendship, the young tender friendship that you have snuffed out.

a bounty of booty

22:24 Dec 28 2006
Times Read: 1,177

So many unmemorable people...a frothy sea of tedium. And then, land ho! Jewels and treasure on an uncharted beach...

Beastt - because you're you and because you're mine.

LiquidSaint - because my words have never sounded so good in my own mouth as they do in yours.

CTyler - because every girl needs a viking prince

Cancer - because I damn near WOULD get my bitchass in the kitchen and make you pie!

snarkhunter - your creativity takes my breath away and your humor restores it...I'm applying for a license to keep you.

birra - for being a warm hello in a cold night

damnyouscott - for inspiration

Toiletduc - because toiletduckishness is inexplicable

felixfelix - mutual respect, debate, and silliness

Silverbow - just the steadiest good person you could ever know

Pepper - a brilliant wordsmith

Deamun - my sidekick because he fit the costume (don't worry, your inseam measurement is safe with me) and because I can never think of donkey balls without fond remembrances of him...not that I think of donkey balls...yeah.

SacredDefiance - for his irascible smile

meatmagician - because you're full of shit, made me laugh, and I decided you were a wild card addition

*You all season the life of this cajun girl in spicey ways savored long after each taste. Know that I treasure you all in uniquely different ways.*

Orpheus meets my writing process - Why the hell are you reading this crap? Save yourself before it's too late!

10:24 Dec 16 2006
Times Read: 1,195

I'm playing with the idea of writing something new, but I'm so sleepy that I'm having trouble shaping it up, so I'm going to brainstorm here.

This is self-serving. The only reason you would have to read further is if you give a damn about how the writing process works for me. Most of it is done in my head in a monologue that I'm going to try to produce here since my sleep-fogged brain isn't cooperating.

If you don't give a damn about that...bail while there's still time because here...we...go!

I want to capture a modern man with a beautiful singing voice. I want his voice big and strong, his countenance outwardly happy. The backdrop of the work will be allusion to the Orpheus myth. His loss...his insatiable want for (not sure I will name it for our hero...for Orpheus, was his lost love.)

Toying with the idea of the serpent having the point of view, maybe not. The gist of the story should touch on the story-teller's keen ability to taste the man...to taste in his song the sadness that nobody else can see. (Research whether thare's a gustatory god/hero myth...avoid Bacchus if possible.

I will tie Eurydice in as the subject's manifest loss and overwhelming want/need/desire. The snake would be nice as narrator because of the role in Orpheus myth. Maybe he will still have the taste of our hero's metaphoric Eurydice in his mouth while he mingles it with the new taste of our guy (REALLY need to name/identify him..."our hero" for now.) I kinda like that because in a very real way, it's a recipe entirely of his/her making. (snake gender?)

If I succeed, the image will be of a man whose song to the world is the more beautiful (fragrant and savory) for its sadder notes and could never be as (golden..precious...rare) if he found his heart's desire.

If from the serpent's point of view, I should play with rationalizing his actions because it was he who provided the venue for this priceless beauty added to the world. (If he draws on example, stay pre-judeo/christian.)

Maybe weave in Tartarus...Elysium, the weaker muse. Mmmm...I like that.
