This is some amazing chicken salad.... definitely a bit different using barbecued chicken as the base.

Incredible day. I hosted a barbecue to celebrate a friend's birthday. I invited models that I have shot with to join the party... and, they showed up. I think that has to be a first.



We barbecued chicken from the batches I raised. We made pork ribs, shrimp skewers, kangaroo burgers, camel burgers, elk burgers, alligator, python steaks...



...I don't think any animals were safe, really.



The last two people just left... I'm whooped, drinking coffee, folding laundry and listening to cheesy '80s music.

That was an interesting way to end... and start... a day.

When I got home at 4AM this morning, I took pictures of the full moon. I wish I could have done it from the lakefront. It was brilliant, shining across the blue water.



I love our moon. So large, bright and the perfect companion for such a unique world.



Last night was about discovery. Finding someone I already knew in an unexpected place, discussing unexpected things, and making a strong connection. It was about finding that common, but hidden ground. Realizing we are not alone.



We decided on drinks. Drinks turned into dinner. I instinctively chose her meal for her, and ordered it. The act was exactly what she expected, and wanted, but I knew that. She told me stories of her life, and I shared some of mine. We talked about how our paths have crossed so frequently. I have pictures of her - candid images with other people I was asked to take. She said she would have asked me out already if it didn't seem like I was working every time we saw each other.



We shared our stories, and then went on a quest for the city's best Chocolate Chip cookie. We made a bakery open their doors for us at midnight, and shared cookies, coffee and wine with the owners and their family.



The cookies were just ok. The company was exquisite.



Old Italian families always seem to embrace those with a love of good food, wine and coffee.



We're all under the same moon....



The night ended as expected.



I will consider another like it in the near future.

Kids are away for the weekend, so I am chicken sitting their new ones.



It is chaos out there.



Chaos I tell you.

Had to go right from work to coach soccer. No time to change or grab rain gear. When the skies opened up with a Biblical downpour in the 2nd half... well, it was wet. And I was still dressed in slacks and a shirt.



It didn't seem to bother the kids at all. Except for one... Josh.



Josh: Coach! Your nice shirt is going to be ruined!



Me: It's ok, Josh. These things happen.



Josh: Yeah, but that's a nice shirt.



...apparently Josh is going to be the team fashion consultant.



Too funny.

Rough out there, isn't it?

I love it when models complain about men on their Facebook statuses.



"They're all the same."



"Aren't there any nice guys out there?"



"I'm sick of the game playing."



"They all say the same things."



"They're all jerks."



"They're all pigs."



I could go on... I have plenty of fodder.



Let's break this down a bit: You're a model. You're attractive. You mainly hang out in night clubs and meet men that hang out in night clubs. And every guy you meet is the same?



Shocker.



The following bit of advice I like to call, "Captain Obvious's Guide to Dating."



Rule #1: If the only people you hang out with are douchebags, the only people you're going to meet are douchebags. If you're tired of meeting douchebags, hang out with different people.



...I think that's really the only rule that is needed here.

Or how about those who only use their Facebook to post sexy pictures, then complain that they want to be appreciated for their brains? If it's sexy pictures that they only post, then people are going to see only that about them, and judge them only about that.
