Well, its day 21 and as you can see, I have been eating A LOT. The program is not a diet. It is a program, that teaches you how to use food, to up your metabolism, to help your body burn fat. It isn't a quick process. I mean you have to considered, it took years, for me to put on the weight. It will take years for me to take it off.



Granted, I lost 5 lbs, but this program helps you figure out, your fat percentage and whatnot. The 5lbs that I lost, was total fat. So, here are my results. I didn't follow the program faithfully, but I'm encouraged with the progress that I feel, the energy I have and how I feel about myself.

Body Fat % = The percentage of my body, that is fat.

Fat Weight = The weight of the fat on my body.

Lean Body Mass = The weight of my muscle, bones, water, organs, connective tissue and blood combined. (A Target weight, plus 5 to 10lbs)



The Lean Body Mass gives you a basis of how much everything weights without fat. But nobody can live without some body fat. It is actually very important to your body's function. But knowing how much your Lean Body Mass is....helps you determine, your REAL target weight. Not that stupid chart that your doctor has. The chart states that for me to be at my best weight, at 5'3", is about 105-115lbs. Due to the profession I was in, the swimming I did as a child, I have a broad musclar back and shoulders. My current doctor agrees that 170lbs, is a good goal.

21 days to a new me!!!



If you read LordV's journal, you will notice he has 21 days to a new me also. Let me explain.



In the desire to get a child, it was recommended strongly that we both loose weight. We looked at alot of programs and diet plans. Six week body makeover, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and adkins, to name a few.



But the one hardest thing, was that each of them was denying us from having on thing or another. Well one morning, as I was cooking breakfast, LordV was flipping through channels and came across, "Food lovers fat loss program."



He sat through the whole informercial and I would come in, to see bits and peices. There was a lady, interviewing a handsome, well fit, African American. His name is Robert Fergeson. He made one statement, that had me sold.



"If you can't see yourself doing this for the rest of your life, its a diet."



I laughed thinking it was so true. Every diet I went on, there was no way, I could stay on. But the more I investigated his program, the more it made sense. Mainly, you are eating real food, your own favorite foods, but with some minor alterations.



Instead of white flour, you are looking for whole wheat flour. You are taught about fast carbs (sweets, bread, pasta, rice and corn) and about slow carbs (berries, melons, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots). The difference being, how fast the body makes it into sugar.



So, with this program, we are told what to do, for 21 days. Each day, we make minor changes, we eat food that we like, in the right portions and never go hungry. THe result?



We will speed up our body's metabolism and start burning off the fat.



So, when you see us post our food, you can sit there and say, but they are having brownies....they are having pringles....they are having Milk, Ice cream, cake......



Yes we are and they are all allowed on the program. In fact nothing, isn't allowed. If you have questions about it, I will be more than happy to answer your questions.



Wish Us luck, we have about 19 more days to go and I have already lost 7lbs.

I'm not posting to boast or anything ... my work days tend to get busy, but I'm usually in front of a computer. It's just easier for me to drop a quick journal than pull out a book diary and make the notations. (And this way, my partner can keep an eye on me throughout the day and make sure I'm sticking to things).



I also am not going to put this much faith into it. LadyC has already lost 8 pounds ... and that was from doing a 3 day detox prior to the 21 day program. I'll admit .. I tried it and I quit after about 9 hours. It (the detox) was just not working for me.



But this ... diet ... is one of the easier ones I've experienced. I'm not stepping on that scale until the 21 days is over.
