As he stood back against the wall all his senses were elevated. He waited and listened. Satisfied that the occupants were asleep, he drifted over to the cherry wood desk that occupied a corner of the living room. He tried the drawers. All opened but one. He turned his attention to the one that was locked.



Removing the tanto from his waist he slipped the weapon into the top of the locked drawer and applied slight pressure. The lock gave and the drawer slid open. He stopped and took in all. He removed the files from the drawer and found what he was seeking.



The file contained various printouts from internet sites as well as a number of photographs of a nude or semi nude young woman. There were also handwritten notes revealing her daily routine as well as her address. Further reading revealed a list of her friends and their addresses.



As he read he thought that "some do not choose their associates wisely". Replacing the tanto at his waist he prepared to leave. A light suddenly came on in what he presumed to be the hall bathroom. He froze and considered a course of action. Should it be the owner of the residence he could end any threat that he might pose. Hearing the toilet flush he prepared to move. The door opened and out came a blond, nude, girl whose age he estimated at no more than 25. She was unsteady on her feet as she walked back into the bedroom.



Turning he moved across the floor to the sliding glass door. Opening it, he exited the dwelling. Keeping to the shadows he worked his way up the hill .
