I tell no one of my secrets; no one can know yet. I can’t keep it in for much longer. It’s been a burden to hold in. My parents’ say I can talk to them, but how can I? Some things aren’t meant to be said out loud; even to the people I trust most, even Sky and Xavier, whom I trust with my life.

All my life, I thought I was the real me, the most popular girl with one of the cutest guys in school. My life was perfect! Nothing could get better, and I didn’t think anything could possibly go wrong.

Cadence was a very unique person. Her hair was always colors that were not natural like greens, blues, purples, and pinks. Cadence never thought she fit in and didn’t really care; her wardrobe was black, crimson red, midnight blue, and other depressing colors. Many days out of the year she scared people everywhere she went; odd hair, dark clothing, pale skin, and dark, bold make up. She never really cared what people thought of her, or so everyone thought based on the act she put on. The world never really knew how Cadence felt until it was to late. Nobody knew the pain she went through, no one saw the scars or the tears hidden behind the fake smiles. The only person who came close to knowing was her best friend Alex whom she had known her whole life. See the life of a troubled teen through the eyes of Cadence Treyworth. Now let’s take you back in time…to the life of Cadence.

Rayne lives in a world where she is a mystery to all. Nobody takes the time to try to understand her, or get to know her in general. To the world, Rayne is an outcast; she doesn’t deserve to have friends. Nobody likes a girl they believe to be suicidal, one who may seem depressed, or one who expresses themselves through hair colors and writings. Nobody dares to ask how she was; they would be shunned, and become an outcast. Rayne, she tried to befriend the other outcasts, seeing how they had formed their own little society within the town. Even to them, she was too weird, not like them in any way, shape, or form. She had been exiled by her own kind.

One evening when she was home alone not so different than any other night of the week, seeing how her parents never bothered to stay home. Rayne decided she would throw a party, inviting all of the outcasts who had sent her away only days before. To these outcasts, depression is a joke. It means nothing to them, nothing more than a disease cured by medication. Yet she still wishes to be accepted by them. Rayne just wants to know what its like to feel wanted, to be accepted. She said there would be weed and alcohol, that’s all they needed to hear to ask when and where. There was something about the crowed that was different that day however. Rayne noticed a new boy in the crowd of outcasts. He was different from the rest she sensed it. He did not fit in with them; he was too morbid for their liking. These outcasts listened to shitty music, and had a horrible taste in clothing; they shopped at the store that had become so common. Hot Topic. She couldn’t wait to talk to this boy, the one who seemed different. She wanted to know all about him, and how he was accepted so quickly within the group.

Rayne would find out all too soon, just why they had accepted him so quickly. The question is, will she like what she finds out, or will she fear the newcomer.
