So I looked into it, thinking, "Surely I am not about to find out Soviet buildings had doorframes but outlawed installing doors, don't doors help retain heat, it would be so impractical not to have doors in this climate???" and in a couple articles, I saw that they did have doors, but they were kinda cheap and not well insulated, so people often put a faux leather covering on them to help keep in the heat and muffle sounds a tad. But the thing on the doorframe on this page doesn't look like the fake leather sheets I saw in the picture, so what am I missing? Or are the articles I came across just lying to me?
Yes, and those crappy doors often fell. Also, Siberia had meat shortages, so leather was luxury. They have doors in the apartment, but the teen room doesn't for reasons that probably involves jock idiocy. Example Example
