I also sometimes make chainmail (maille) when I'm really bored, some pieces I have literally put hundreds of hours into making. You'd be surprised how much time it gives you to think ^.^ I posted an image of a set of bracers (slightly damaged >.>) that I made. They are 6-1 European (weave type) and have material sewn in on the inside. I usually just use some elastic cord to hold them in place...
