It's so sad when someone has delusions of grandeur and you can't do a thing about it. What would happen is a major drama fest. I really don't like it when people pretend to be something they are not. It is especially heinous when I know unequivocally they are not who they are saying they are. The debate is do I tell people or do I keep quiet? I decided to let others be gullible rather than be labeled a troublemaker. I guess that is cowardly but it sure keeps the peace.

It is not "cowardly" in my opinion.

What you have done is maybe all you can do.

Or should.. for many reasons.

This is a very short video of a visit my youngest daughter took down to San Diego where we were living not that long ago. She went over the bridge to Coronado. I'm not sure what they are riding in but you can hear her talking, her boyfriend laughing and see my grandsons riding with helmets on their heads. One turns around toward the camera.

Something to clarify

I don't care what religion you follow or none at all. I just believe in equality for all and finding out what is what and not believing superstition. I am not nor have I ever been a Satanist. There are many types of them, and it's not that I find fault with them. I am not a Christian by definition either. Now for some FYI. I have three ordinations so I do know a little something. I see what the Oklahoma state government is doing to be shady and illegal. I don't marry people nor do any of that stuff, quote verses because I personally think that is insulting and inane. I try not to challenge anyone for their beliefs. Geesh I am a senior but I have done a lot of studying. I chose not to go to any Christian school or to go to college and get a theological degree because personally I think it is biased teachings. That is just my opinion whether right or wrong. This group more than likely has a 501C 3 status and pays taxes and are considered a legitimate church and if so they have every right to put up a monument whether those of other faiths like it or not if they are going to do it on government land which is illegal by law. I am not for one or the other just non discrimination. I think it is very important that people be tolerant and kind to each other regardless of differences.

Satanism is a broad term referring to a group of Western religions comprising diverse ideological and philosophical beliefs. Their shared features include symbolic association with, or admiration for the character of Satan, and Prometheus, which are in their view, liberating figures. There were an estimated 50,000 members in 1990. There may be as many as one hundred thousand in the world

Despite criticism from other religious groups, there are signs that Satanistic beliefs have become more socially tolerated. Satanism is now allowed in the Royal Navy of the British Armed Forces, despite opposition from Christians, and in 2005, the Supreme Court of the United States debated over protecting the religious rights of prison inmates after a lawsuit challenging the issue was filed to them.

Contemporary Satanism is mainly an American phenomenon, the ideas spreading with the effects of globalization and the Internet. The Internet promotes awareness of other Satanists, and is also the main battleground for the definitions of Satanism today. Satanism started to reach Eastern Europe in the 1990s, in time with the fall of the Soviet Union, and most noticeably in Poland and Lithuania, predominantly Roman Catholic countries. (Wikipedia)

The Temple of Satan believes this:

Mission Statement

The mission of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people. In addition, we embrace practical common sense and justice. As Satanists we all should be guided by our conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by our individual wills. We believe that this is the hope of all mankind and the highest aspiration of humanity.

As an organized religion, we feel it is our function to actively provide outreach, to lead by example, and to participate public affairs wheresoever the issues might benefit from rational, Satanic insights.

Tenets

There are seven fundamental tenets.

1.One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason.

2.The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

3.One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

4.The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forego your own.

5.Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.

6.People are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and resolve any harm that may have been caused.

7.Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

This is what they believe and we know what the Christians believe because we keep being told. I didn't post for a debate on whose religion is the best. It's not a condoned thing on this site.

New Orleans

If for no other reason sometimes I wish I lived in New Orleans because of all the people that go there. I'm more partial to Savannah really. Love the town, but then I use to live in GA, lol. Anyway it was something cute that got hoots and hollers figuratively in another area of the net. One of the well known people in the community that lives in NOLA and goes by Maven ran into Jason Momoa. Maven looks like a shrimp next to him, Jason is so tall but the photo is cute. All the ladies were envious and I'm one of them.
