In the spirit of the holidays I would sincerely like to strangle my brother. Unfortunately I will have to wait on that as he lives clear across the country from me. Here's the thing. Our mother passed away a few years ago from a stroke, she had been living with my brother, they were really close and she had even paid for the house he lives in. Well when she passed he just kept all of her possessions such as her vehicles, money, just everything. I was ok with it, I mean that isn't what was important they are just material things and he had spent a lot of time with her. Now I don't have anything of my mothers, not even a picture of her as a flood where I used to live destroyed all of my photo albums. Well my brother has been promising me that he would send me some of her jewelry, I didn't ask for it he offered. Our family is from Alaska and mom had a lot of gold pieces and ivory.

I swear he has asked for my address at least twenty times! This is no exaggeration. I just gave it to him again last week after giving it to him at least twice a month since she has passed and he calls me two days later saying he just wants to make sure it is the right one. For crying out loud! I would just like a memento but at this rate I don't see it happening.

And on top of that he was supposed to send her to me as she has a grave here already paid for next to the one where her ex-husband, my brothers father, is buried. But instead she is still sitting in a box somewhere in his house. Maybe it is all just too hard for him but they were all his ideas.

I'd like to be able to move on...

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!

Forgive me, I couldn't resist...I've read your other journals and you have the same "gallows" humor I have...your brother's a mooching good for nothing c**t...I've a brother like him and there's no whitewash thick enough to cover up the faults of folk of their type...as Shakespeare famously said: "You can't polish a turd"...don't try...if you don't believe me test my theory by pressing him in a way he can't get out of: turn up unannounced with a box and ask to take pieces of jewellery away...then sit back and watch human nature in all its ugliness...

Happy New Year by the way xx

Still on the hunt for a yummy deviled egg recipe, can't have Miracle Whip in it as Pinja doesn't like it. I know right, what the hell is wrong with him?

WOW you Miracle Whip haters just don't know what you're missing!!

If you do it, he won't even know it!! But since he knows that it's even in the conversation, I wouldn't try.

Here's another one that is really really good:

Ingredients:

1 dozen eggs

2 teaspoons dijon mustard

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1 Tbsp minced onion or shallot

1/4 teaspoon tabasco

Salt and pepper

Paprika

Here's this one from Paula Deen's kitchen:

Clicky

Ingredients

7 large eggs, hard boiled and peeled

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

1 teaspoon prepared mustard

Salt and pepper, for taste

Paprika, for garnishing

Sweet gherkin pickles sliced, for garnishing

Pimentos, for garnishing

We make it with Duke's Mayonnaise..I hate Miracle Whip. Go Pinja, that stuff is NASTY. Lol.

We boil the eggs, put a tbs of sweet relish in it, 1/2 to 1 tbs of mustard - to taste that is, pepper, enough dukes mayo to get it really good and wet, and a little salt, then after the eggs whites are refilled, we put a little Paprika on it for garnish.

I'm not japanese I don't believe that mayo should be sweet with lots of added crap. I like my Sugar with Coffee and cream, and my mayo without lots of added vinegar onion and garlic powders and sugar.

Goblin cum hehehe

So haven't been on here much lately, I got really ill and it put me out of commission for most of the week and now I've been hustling my ass to get Christmas stuff finished up. Thank God Pinja will be doing the dinner. We just got our tree a few days ago and no one wanted to help decorate it so I ended up doing it by myself, I have wrapped a good 20-25 presents by myself as well. I WAS in the Christmas spirit but the lack of any from anyone else has been bringing me down.

Reminds me of when my mom use to pile us kids into the car, drive to the nicer areas of our town, and admire all of the Xmas decorations!

(We didn't have much money, but we did alright in the decorating ourselves - lol)!

WOWIE. I was at the post office to get some more Christmas stamps when the clerk informed me that they were out of them but I could get some at the drugstore but I had better hurry because the guy that was just in front of me was headed there and was getting 1000 of them. Holy crap! Can you imagine doing that Christmas card list? Those stamps would cost you $440.00 if they were just standard. Dayam!

When I do my full client and family list... I'm at close to 1000. That doesn't include friends. And people wonder why I haven't done them in a few years. I'm slowly starting to try again. But it is overwhelming.

I'm hoping someone can give me an answer to this. I'm not a coffee drinker, I no likey but I am a huge fan of tea, hot tea, iced tea, but you could say it is my caffeine fix on top of the yumminess it gives me. I don't add anything to it except for honey on occasion and I usually use a large mug with two bags.

Now the problem is that it always makes me nauseated when drinking it on an empty stomach. Or when having something light to eat. Why is this? It's ruing my freaking tea time!

The thing about drinking tea and coffee is that they are both full of toxins, that you may be taking too much and this is having an effect on your tum.

You can buy patches to stick on the soles of your feet overnight to see exactly how much toxins are in your bloodstream. My hubby gave up tea some years ago and his patches are now white in the morning (the same colour they started out on) whereas mines.. are nearly black! I drink tea all day and two cups of coffee in the morning .

I've never heard of those patches, how cool. I'd be scared to see what mine looked like lol.

If it is a black tea it probably has too much tannic acid. This is especially true if you're also sensitive to too much red wine.

PandorasBx

Indeed it is black tea, I only drink black or red teas.

Try going for an organic blend. They still will have the tannic acid but at lesser levels. Red rose is the worst (I know this because I would use a tea bag of it to remove blisters when I was rowing).

That or switch to a white or green tea. Still has some caffeine but lesser amount and has a lovely flavour to it.

I will try the organic, not much of a fan of green tea. Thanks :)

Anyone else watch the Virgin Diaries last night? OMG, that wedding kiss *shudders*, I'm sorry folks but someone should of instructed them a bit better, that was one of the most frightening scenes I have ever witnessed lol. I mean good for them and all but damn. And the new husband kept looking like he wanted to get away from her and all of her "kissing" during the reception. YIKES.

That was terrible. If someone kissed me like that I think I would run as fast as possible. I mean I can understand wanting to save yourself til you get married, but um, I didn't think kissing meant you are sexually promiscuous. Hell I didn't even know kissing meant you weren't a virgin.

So proud of my son Justin, not only is he playing his violin every weekend at the nursing homes here for the residents but he was also chosen by his school to read his story to the LCSC College President at an event due to his great reading and writing skills. I see him blossoming from a shy, less than confident in himself young boy into a young man that is finding his strengths while retaining that kindness that has always been prevalent. I've been worried about him, I just love him so much and want the best for him.

I got an early Christmas present from Pinja, a new laptop, YAY! It rocks, I'm loving the visual recognition for log on, very cool and the on screen keyboard is interesting. Been exploring all the gadgets *rubs hands together*. I really needed one, now I just have to break these keys in they are a little bit stiff.
