Pilfered glances along the way,
My train of thought derailed by you.
With each blurred visage a passing familiarity,
Yours I admit I never knew.
I fight the upturning of my lips,
Curiosity dancing circles in my irises.
This moment unforeseen,
I may refuse the need to dream again.
For what use are dreams
When life is for living?
Had I chosen to live within them
I may have never known your face.
