Would you want your city to outlaw smoking on public streets? Why or why not?
That's a good question. As a former smoker, I know how sucky it is when you cannot smoke except in very limited places. As an asthma sufferer, I also know what it is like to be in the midst of all that smoke and feel like you're suffocating.
It's silly to waffle back and forth over what appears such a simple question. But I've been on both sides of this fence. But, as much as I side with a smoker's right to enjoy a cigarette in public, I guess I am going to ultimately side with non-smokers. Yes; smokers have the right to enjoy smoking, but everyone else has the right to breathe. If I cannot burn leaves, why should someone be able to smoke in public?
