She lays in the darkness,
Cool cameo thighs sheathed in silk sheets.
The full moon bathes her in a silent sihouette
as she gazes out the window into the night.
Far away in the distance, he lays sleeping,
Dreaming of the one he cannot have.
He can taste her lips in his dreams,
Caress her soft warm skin,
Smell her dark scent,
But he cannot hold her,
For he has never seen her.
She sits up on one elbow,
Secretive smile playing upon her crimson lips.
Lifting one arm, she extends a red-tipped finger,
And with a sharp slash, brings it down
Till it makes a soft whoosh sound
In the darkness.
Far away, he sits up suddenly,
Bathed in sweat, heart pounding,
And brushes fingertips across his burning cheek.
In the glow of moonlight
He sees
His fingertips stained with red
His cheek sliced open and bleeding.
He gasps and whispers "who are you?"
She smiles and replies "I am your dream."

It's a beautiful poem. I'm just curious, why did his cheek have to be lacerated? Lol. Jk jk

I love it, and I like the idea of his cheek being sliced by her lol...Reminds me of my Succubus I have in my dreams!
