The use of light is definitely the key here. You have transfered a feeling in images which is superb.

A childrens ward?!

When you associate a place with noise, hustle and bustle and see the emptiness of the rooms, there is just something creepy about it, almost a sadness!

The stairs do it for me every time. Great pics.

The stairs that have no lights. No windows, in the middle of the building so the only light you see is the doors that have small windows, or I am holding them open to get the light. I sat down on the stairs, listen to the buildings. It is a sad place, and creepy when you turn and find those children cartoon paintings.

And since the new window covers *brown- ain't they nice? ;) * block out light- it is the only window that has sun coming in.

That song 'Seven Rooms of Gloom' just doesn't cut it. Were all the staircase shots taken from the bottom? Bet you didn't go up there. lol

You are right, I didn't climb that stairway. But the newer stairway that I only took one photo of is in the front of the building, and I did climb it. The metal stairway was at the side, back of the building and I took them from the doorways, inside the stairway.

No clue. It's eyes was missing, so .. cat? dog? The butthole looked like it just busted out. Kind of ewwww.. I took the shot and moved on quickly.

The wheelchair was placed in the photo by a man who liked to 'stage' his shots. I don't like doing this, I think the locations should 'speak' for itself. But then I found this room, dark, musky... and the word LEAVE is spelled out in cigs on the floor. To be fair- when I first found it they was thrown/moved about the floor but you could see at one time it was spelling a word. I went on down the long hallway into the darkness to other rooms and when I came back into this room it was spelled out. Sure the 'staged' man had been there...even tho I didn't hear him in the hallway or that room. O.o Huh.

Love this bathroom. That gray is marble.

So ends the photos from the largest building on the property. Only 4 smaller buildings to go.

I would crap my pants if the 'staged' man had an alibi and wasn't near that place on the day!

It's a wonder a film studio doesn't just buy the property as a prop.

I really am lovin' these pics as I've already said and you capture what is predominantly the essence of the rooms.
