Walk clockwise three times around the perimeter of the circle pointing your dominant hand's index finger or better your athame in this hand while visualizing energy coming from it a a glowing mist.



Say "I cast and conjure you sacred space and place this circle in a place outside of space and time. In the dark god Shiva the Destroyer's name so mote it be."

The circle is formed. (Remember it is actually a sphere about 9 feet in diameter.) Now it is time for the ritual.





The Ritual





Invocation of the Dark Goddess

I am the Darkness behind and beneath the shadows.



I am the absence of air that awaits at the bottom of every breath.



I am the Ending before Life begins again,

the Decay that fertilizes the Living.



I am the Bottomless Pit,



the never-ending struggle to reclaim that which is denied.



I am the Key that unlocks every Door.



I am the Glory of Discovery,



for I am that which is hidden, secluded and forbidden.





Come to me at the Dark Moon and see that which can not be seen,



face the terror that is yours alone.



Swim to me through the blackest oceans



to the center of your greatest fears--



the Dark God and I will keep you safe.



Scream to us in terror, and yours will be the Power to Forbear.



Think of me when you feel pleasure, and I will intensify it,



until the time when I may have the greatest pleasure



of meeting you at the Crossroads Between the Worlds.







Lady Kali, we call upon you, your consort, Lord Shiva, and your servant Death to be with us and to give us your wisdom and strength to grow in our Craft and to flourish in the Darkness.

In Ending







Take your Athame or pointing finger on your nondominant hand and walk three times counterclockwise around the inside of the circle while visualizing the energy of the circle being absorbed back into you.



The circle is open, but unbroken

Invocation of the Dark Goddess Ritual







Place the candles shown below with about nine feet beween the north and south and the east and west candles as they define the perimeter of your circle's sacred space.





The inner candles in this case the black and white candles are on your altar. Which should face the direction of the element most prominent in the ritual. If the ritual is directed toward spiritual development then face east as up is difficult to do ;) and Air and Spirit correspondences are similar.





Light the alter candles Black for God and white for Goddess.







Start in the East and light the yellow candle calling for presense and protection from Air elementals. "By the air that is her breath I ask for the presense and protection of creatures of the air" (Birds and bats)





Then to the South and light the red candle calling for presense and protection from Fire elementals. "By the fire of her spirit I ask for the presense and protection of creatures of the fire" (Dragons and salamanders)





Then to the West and light the blue candle calling for presense and protection from Water elementals. "By the waters of her womb I ask for the presense and protection of creatures of the water" (Fish, frogs, and water mammals)





Finally to the North and light the green candle calling for presense and protection from Earth elementals. "By the earth that is her body I ask for the presense and protection of creatures of the earth" (Terrestrial mammals and reptiles)
