My holiday was pretty good over-all. Justin and I had a snowball fight last night at the Train park which was absolutely beautiful, lights were stunning and the music lovely. It was rather a romantic setting and made me miss Pinja even more but am grateful for the time we had together this last week.

I spent Christmas Eve with my son Brandon and his family at his in-laws house who happen to be some great people, it was fun. Then on Christmas day I had Justin of course and then my other son Darren and his family showed up as a surprise visit from Montana. It was good to see my granddaughters again. Ditto, my bestie made Christmas dinner so I escaped the duty one more year hehe...

Looking forward to next year when Pinja will make my world complete. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday :)

Got back home last night, feel like a part of me is missing. The ride there was hell. Got stuck in the snow twice, did a cookie once, my GPS refused to work due to weather conditions and my cell phone decided to misbehave as well. I told Santa. ;)

The visit with my Pinja was lovely and just what we needed, to be in his arms again was the best Christmas present ever. We attended masquerade Mayhem in Seattle and the performances were beyond my expectations, it was pretty cool to see everyone masked too. I had a great time.

Only 6 weeks till my love returns to me.

Today has been one of the worse days of my life, this is not an exaggeration, I wish it was. One of my greatest fears came to fruition today and the kicker is that I have no one to blame but myself. I am all about taking accountability for my actions, and I am paying in the worse way for something I did. I am not perfect, not even close, I made a HUGE error in judgment that has cost me the most important thing in my life. With time I hope to regain it. It's not over yet and the repercussions of my actions will be a part of my life for a long time. What I would give to turn back time. I can't even begin to tell you. All I can do is take my punishment as painful as it is and hope that I will be given another chance. It's almost a relief. I'd like nothing more than to huddle up in a corner and shut everyone and everything out but I can't...I have responsibilities and they won't wait for me to stop feeling sorry for myself. Life goes on whether we opt to be a part of it or not. I will be thankful for the things that I do have and what part of J's life I can still touch.

Explaining Christmas to my son or rather reminding him what it is about has a new twist this year as I am no longer Christian but Agnostic. I explain to him what all of the "religions" believe it to represent and then my own take on it. I try to be open-minded while I do this and leave it up to my son to make his own choices. Over at his dads house he gets Katies rendition (the new Mrs.), and that is Christian and that is that. I tell him he has plenty of time to make up his own mind, he is only 10, I don't believe in pushing my beliefs onto anyone else. I grew up Catholic and then non-denominational Christian, I was a Deaconess at my step fathers Church of which he is the Pastor of. Somewhere along the way I lost my faith. It is very hard for me to believe in something that cannot be proven, I side with the Science of things more often than not. Blind faith and hope are things I just don't possess these days.

Without religion you can still celebrate the magic of Santa Claus and the spirit of that magic. Beyond that- I don't push my religion on others... but as far as not believing in something you can't see: You can't see the wind, and you can't see love... but you can feel it, and know it's there. Not everyone feels it. But I do.

Oh yeah- I believe in science as well. I am not a Biblical literalist. I believe what a good friend and Episcopal priest once shared with me: There's a difference between fact and truth- just because something isn't factual doesn't mean it's not *true*... Like Aesop's Fables. Jesus spoke in parables to get a point across. The *point* is all I care about- I don't necessarily believe Jonah was swallowed by a whale, or many of the other stories like that... I still come away with my personal truth.

My ex-husbands wife called here last night ragging and bitching about how selfish he is. *chuckles* Is it bad that I am glad that he is the same with her that he was with me, probably but I'm kind of a bitch that way.

She bought lights for the outside of the house, he refuses to hang them, she asked him to move the piano into my house and he says he is tired of moving things and spouted off that he doesn't care if Justin plays the piano he would rather he take karate lessons. Now she has to hire someone to do these things. I guess he took a piece of garlic bread out of his step-daughters hands because she had already had some and he didn't and wanted it. Oh and some other things...I'm just glad he is no longer my problem...

So my son is once again taking piano lessons and we have added fiddle lessons as well so that he can join the church group his step-mom belongs to that goes and plays at the different convalescence homes and so forth. He seems to prefer the piano, he loves it and it seems like he is learning much faster than he did previously. I think it will be good for him, I try to nurture any interests he has. I have been noticing all the changes in him this year, he suddenly LIKES girls lol, he is embarrassed by any show of affection from us adults of course, he is showing more confidence and he is changing physically by leaps and bounds as well...my baby isn't a baby anymore...

Even though I have had house guests for the last few days and they are driving me nuts I might add, it was pretty sweet to wake up to breakfast in bed. My roommate knows I have been stressed and surprised me with bacon, sausage and french toast, yummerz.

I just had it out with my ex-husband. Why? Because when he asked our son what we were having for dinner, Justin wouldn't tell him we were having pork chops, he said he was afraid. Yes, afraid. Since when is pork chops, applesause and baked potatoes so sinful you might ask? Since Jason and the new Mrs. Brown have been pounding it into Justins head of what he "can" and can't eat. They are on a healthfood kick and apparently the food at my house isn't good enough and the portions too large. They call just to make sure he has eaten an apple everyday. They tell him he is not allowed to eat fast food, ever! Apparently he is allowed one piece of toast or an apple for breakfast, a half sandwich for lunch and so forth. Funny since they had fried chicken last week, a food he was told he couldn't eat...

THIS IS MY HOUSE! What we eat here is not up to them. I would never do anything to harm my sons health for heavens sakes. Justin is not overweight, in fact he just lost about 8 pounds. He has shot up several inches in the last few months.

The pork chops were the last straw, I flipped out.

WTF! I mean he is a child, and FFS it should be up to your child what he or she would want to eat! Diets and eating fads were not meant for children. Eating healthy yes.. telling them no to a pork chop, completely STUPID!

Next time they get all high and mighty about their health kick. Remind them that everything in moderation, anything in excess can cause issues. Excess Vitamin C causes diarrhea, Not too many health foods have the right amino acids, and proper proteins that common meats and legumes have.

All in all, The magic lives with in us. This is what the video would of said, .......

Eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon wrote a letter to the editor of New York's Sun, and the quick response was printed as an unsigned editorial Sept. 21, 1897. The work of veteran newsman Francis Pharcellus Church has since become history's most reprinted newspaper editorial, appearing in part or whole in dozens of languages in books, movies, and other editorials, and on posters and stamps.

"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old.

"Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.

"Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.'

"Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus?

"VIRGINIA O'HANLON.

"115 WEST NINETY-FIFTH STREET."

VIRGINIA, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except [what] they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
