Back in 1984, a single 40-page black-and-white underground comic redefined the comic book industry and created a worldwide phenomenon. They began on a sketchpad at Mirage Studios, but soon enough the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became an empire. In 1987, the Turtles made the jump to television. They dominated animation from the late 1980s through the early 1990s, holding a firm lock as the No. 1 children's television show. But the Turtles weren't done yet. For nearly 20 years, they've entertained and thrilled legions of fans across the globe… and they're still going strong!
