The Vampyres Requiem
What does it mean to be a vampyre? Is it the supernatural fantasy of terror filled society? Is it the mythical underworld envisioned in novels and poems? Is it the heretical indifference in the face of modern society? Is it merely the embracing of ones self? The answer is, it is all of these things. But where do you begin? How does one become a Vampyre? What requirements are there to this exclusively alluring family? Within the pages of this book I will try to present to you the inner workings of the Vampyre Society in which I have been a part of for more than a decade. Here you will find the modern version of what being a vampyre is. What it means to you, and what the world at large sees it as. This by no means is the end all to be all Vampyre Bible to be taken as the only means or ways vampyrism is found throughout the country or even the world, it is what I have lived within the confines of my involvement with Vampyre Society.
Eternally yours,

Chapter1.
What is a Vampyre?
To truly learn what a vampyre is you must first eliminate your preconceived notions of what the word means. Whenever the term vampyre is uttered the instant image brought to beare is of a Bela Lugosi style Count Dracula or a Tom Cruise enacted Vampire LeStat. These are both falsehoods and yet truths at the same time and so they can mislead the uninformed seeker. The term vampyre can be defined as a persons dependency on something else in order to thrive. Its almost a more elegant way of saying addiction. There are numerous variations of the vampyre condition ranging from psychic vampyres, sanguine vampyres, empathic vampyres, etc. I will go into more detail on these forms later, but for now let me say that there is no definitive answer for what a vampyre is or should be. A vampyre is an addict, a romantic, a caring person, a sadist, a masochist, a freak, a normal everyday person, a poet, they are everything and nothing. Being a vampyre is simply being true to yourself and indulging in your true nature. Society as a whole views the practice of indulgence as sin or inappropriate behavior. However, in our society it is the belief that the individual has the freedom to decide if such behavior is inappropriate or not. Is a sexual guided incubus, or succubus really a hinderance to society? Is a empathic person who attempts to take others pain away really a detriment to the overall community? Is a psychic vampyre who discretely draws their energy from others really a problem to local lawmakers? And finally is the Sanguine who has willing donors and takes there blood behind closed doors in the privacy of his/her own home a criminal? Society today would tell us yes, but within the confines of the Vampyre Society, this is everyday life and the norm. No one judges you on what type of vampyre you are. No one thinks any less of you for being who you really are. They

support, accept and condone. This however doesn’t meant that we are above societies laws. If you rob a bank you will go to jail. Etc. (just to clarify).
To be Vampyre is to be in the embodiment of freedom and expression.
Chapter 2
Types of Vampyres:
There are many different types of vampyres that exist in our society today. Many have several different names and some fit into varying categories. And while I will not be able to present ALL of the numerous variations within these pages, I will try to give you at least a touch on the major variants.
Sanguines:
The classic vampyre. The Blood drinker. Also ironically the least common vampyre found in the society today. There are not a lot of individuals who relish the drinking of blood nor the process that comes with extracting blood from donors. Sanguines are normally very private, secretive and incredibly erotic individuals who find blood to be a source of power, sexual eroticism, and sacred. To take anothers blood into yourself is to take that persons essence into you. You consume them, thus making them a part of you. The act itself can be compared to love making, passionate, lustful, and with complete trust and love amongst the participants. It is a powerful experience and one only a select few will ever truly know. Sanguines are VERY selective on who they tell their true nature to, and even then only after a considerable time of proving someone worthy of their trust. The initiation into the sanguine society is similar to the vampyre novels and movies. You must be brought in by another sanguine, who has fed from you and you from them. Thus you are “Turned”. A lot of people ask to be turned when they think they have found a vampyre and to be honest it just makes them undesirable. It is like a prostitute standing on the corner yelling HAVE SEX WITH ME. There is no allure to it when its so disgustingly blatant. To be accepted by a sanguine you must prove yourself worthy of their affection.
