As in previous posts, I have stated I love to garden. One of my favorite Gardens is my Moon Garden. A garden filled with silver white and purple plants .Most of which bloom at night. I have a silver bowl placed in the middle of my garden to catch the reflection of the moon, as there for if needed i can gather water blessed by the moon when needed. So i was wonder if anyone else has a moon garden, and if so what plants to you have in yours?

Is this just something for your pleasure and relaxation, or is there any religious or spiritual significance to a moon garden?

I would say both. It's planted along the side of my herb garden. The main Deity that I work with is Bast, so it more or less an offering. and I just love the aroma from the plants that I have in it.

Some of which are :

Night Blooming Jasmine
Moon Flowers
Datura
white 4 oclocks
White sage
Dusty Miller
Lavender
Evening Primrose
Shasta Daisys
Cosmos
Freesia
I also have a Wisteria planted near it but it will take another 4 years before it blooms

This is interesting. I honestly have never heard of a flowr that only blooms at night. This sounds very.....enchanting to me.

There are not that many that do bllom at night but the Jasmine and Datura are my two favories because of the smell that give off is so intoxicating, but they are both poisonious so make sure ya know what you are doing when handlng them.

Its Flowers are pale yellow to white, open at night and stay extremely fragrant untill sunrise. Aroma is sweet, pleasant and intoxicating. These flowers are widely used in India and other countries of South Asia for perfumery, medicinal applications and in religious ceremonies. Some parts of the plant are poisonous.



Brugmansia suaveolens, Brugmansia suaveolens hybrids, Datura suaveolens


This one alos belongs to the Deadly Nightshade family, which also includes the tomato, Brugmansia comprises about 20 different species, nearly all of them poisonous. There are a number of cultivars of Brugmansia suaveolens, some with white or yellow flowers.
There are many colrs for this one, I have several of them I like the double frilly and the purple and white .

No i do not have one but sounds absolutely lovely..I love gardens of all kinds.. But i have a black thumb.

The Moon Garden sounds interesting. My GF and I are turning the backyard into a pagan garden. We are growing herbs and vegetables. We have a bird feeder setup and placed solar lights.

We also ordered some trees from the Arbor Day Foundation for cheap. The trees include a dogwood, a sagecherry, and dwarf apple. The first two trees will yield winter red fruits for the birds and the dwarf apple will bear fruit for cooking.

While the premise is interesting, this thread is easily a part of your other thread. If you (for example, being the witch) have this as an addition to your garden it should be combined into the other thread. This feels like a repeat topic. I RIP'ed this part of the thread so relevant posts wont be lost, but new thoughts on this can be combined into the other thread with no loss of context.
