Ok, so i have a gmail account.. Thank you Starlite...I love the fact that I only have to login every two weeks.. and that good email addys are available on that domain... I do however miss the way yahoo lets me know when i have email..what do the rest of you all think about it?.. Did you know ppl are bartering for the referals? Gmail is all the buzz out here in virginia, is it elsewhere too?
Uuumm..has g-mail got something to do with your g spot? I don't think we have that service in Ireland.
Other than the fact google mail forced others (hotmail, yahoo, etc..) to boost their storage space, I don't see what the big deal is. I think my yahoo mail is better.
Gmail is still in its beta testing, with accounts only being offered by referal. So, it has become an elitist free email account. Its all in who you know. Not only did it offer more storage in the beginning ( others have up their space since), however it files your emails very differently ( in conversation format) as well as the fact that your emails are now searchable. I also appreciate the fact that i can store one email under many different labels rather than in just one folder as with tthe other free email providers. Will gmail be the free email provider of the future, that remains unclear. What is clear however, is that Gmail is changing the face of free email accounts.
Scarlett...what is conversation format?? can you email a copy of that to me please? pam@acrimony.org thanks gorgeous!
Webmail will always be inferior to pop3 clients like Eudora. With one program I check over 10 email accounts (including yahoo webmail). My storage is only limited by the size of my hard drive. I have all my email's going back several years (more or less) and it's all searchable. Eudora also offers advanced filtering for sorting mail as it comes in.
The only useable purpose of webmail (in my opinion) is remote access. It is also useful for people who do not own a computer. However personally, I believe people who don't own a computer shouldn't have an email address ;)
