I have a memory, its just a stupid thing that happened to be when i as about 8 years old. it wasnt bad or painfully or anything. I remember it happening, but its but its very vague and it makes me doubt whether it was all in my imagination.
I guess i was wondering if any one else felt like this. are our memories really memories or just stories from our imagination?
hmmm...intresting but first let me point out ur error in ur sentence there sweety....
ne ways i've that happen to me alot when i was about 9 or 10 years old very oddball dreams i might add
in the rare occassions that i remember my dreams, i sometimes have a difficult time differenciating them from reality.
mm i always remember my dreams and right when i wake up i make sure i take a mental note and i kind of record them in my memory. they are all pretty weird...and so i dont try to make much sense of them except when is something out of the ordinary...there are many theories about dreams as psychologists have tried to make sense of them since forever....i personally think dreams are a repression of the unconscious...kind of like the "sixth sense"...it reflects memories past, needs, wants, fantasies, etc...
dreams are just memories taken by your unconscious and reflected by your imagination...i suppose...does that make sense ? i dunno it did in my head (lol)
i should try getting in touch with my subconsious. Through out my life, I have had difficulty remembering my dreams. I had a wild imagination as a child. I would day dream on a constant basis . Perhaps that was my way of contacting my subconsious. I do believe i have plenty of repressed thoughts i need to filter out.
Ive heard that sum dreams can be a look in to ur past life to a degree. Like a de'javu thing, perhaps.
At least fer me it feels that way about sum dreams I've had. ^_^
Ok, I have to put my two cents here. I've gone on a rant with my memories, they include sound, touch, and taste. I've written them down, it was about Rome let's not get into the year. I was doing research for it and by chance came across some incredibly striking similarities.
Was it wild imaginations or just dumb luck? Well, I have a Book of Shadows that would lay the proof before you, for you to decide.
I have had similar dreams were upon awakening you truly feel it had happened as they are reoccurring dreams. I truly am uncertain if such a time and place had actually occurred or if I had dreamed these dreams so often in the past and simply forgotten them, and upon the dream reoccurring after a such period time it only comes to feel real, as though it had taken place. Dreams are so lucid that they have myself wonder the cause to be in the same dream over and over again. Is it of the past, is it foresight into the near future, a past life or is it simply something I wish for to happen? For one to know one would have to catalogue their dreams and make reference to them often, and upon whatever actually occurring and that feeling as though you had dreamed it before, resort back to your catalogue of dreams.
As for de'javu, be of my opinion, it is that for but a moment our subconscious comes to be more aware of the actual surroundings taking place and upon us realizing what is happening we momentarily feel we have seen whatever upcoming occurrence before; whereas truth be told it was only the subconscious making us conscious what is now taking place. Thus the reason upon feeling a de'javu you feel you had just dreamed or taken to thought of it only days before, for I believe our dreams have no concept on time and is why some dreams feel as though they last hours when in actuality they only have lasted a few minutes.
... Im doing this in Philosophy at the moment. Its all about perspective and it totally messes with your mind; do you really see things properly but do we just see impressions of what is around us?
Anyway, I think that the memory you have is real, its just you really wont remember it the way it hapened, so its probably a serious mixture of memory and imagination.
See i am the exact opposite I like an autistic person take in all and remember it to. The only time I dont remember is when i experience something and know its happend before (rare) I not only remember but feel others emotions--Now i cant read minds but i can read feelings and sometimes its overwhelming
Autistic individuals create their own reality. Every day is like a dream to them. How blessed they are to be sheltered from the crude realities of the world
you are right they do create there own reallity however, they take in all, such as sounds, puzzles, and information it is difficult to separate them into things that the brain can comprehend and understand. I am not autistic I was merely using that as a relation to present what happends to me. I am able to sepparate it but i cant stop it from comming in (like an autistic)
I can completely relate to one thing. Echo knows about this. Not too long ago i had a dream, in this dream i was in a hospital room. One entire wall was a mirror. and there was a woman on a bed giving birth, with her face covered. there were 8 doctors, all 8 foot tall, all covered except their eyes. They all looked at me, then back at the woman. I knew that this woman was giving birth to MY child.
When you have a dream, unless it is lucid, you think it to be real until you awake. This dream was VERY real in itself. and i loved that child. because my mind was experiencing something it thought was real, so it was natural to love that child.
I woke up with a thought like "where is my son?" only to realise it was a dream, it felt as if that love i had had been torn away and destroyed infront of my eyes.
There were occasions where i would cry simply because something reminded me of that son i never actually had.
first off sorry for the slow response I've been erm tide up, but just wanted to say thanks for the replys (and grammer lesson :)
thanks again x
hehe heres another GRAMMAR reply hehe its ok though i love u
people forget the whole subconcious factor is this...and for the record I HATE GRAMMER NIT PICKS
I believe that my dreams are often memories...i mean sometimes they are nonsensical things, but more often than not I have dreams that are so real that i can wake up and feel them...and there are things i remember about stuff i can't figure how i know about...but in most cases these feel so real and vivid and alive...and there are other events that i remember from concious thought that I don't know where those memories come from either ...^^v^^
Memories or Imaginations!?
Just a "simple" impuls in our brain thet have been created in some moment of our life. At the begining it was a memori but by the time it's transforme itself into some kind of imagination...I rather call it more complexed memori.
thanks 12angels. I swear my English is appalling even though its my first language! :)
I guess its different for each individual but i would just rather my memories be my memories and my imagination my imagination. end of discussion but i guess that would be to black and white for this world!
memories are memories, the thing is in our childhood we have a hughe imationation so it can be that we remember things bigger, better, more magical, special or worse than they really are.
no problem love hehe sorry sleepereffect but ull live ull be ok
My dreams are powerful and afterwards I sometimes have trouble distinguishing between what was a dream and what was an actual experience. It can become troublesome.
