This thread will contain Vampire Rave site updates and revisions from March 9th, 2008 onward.

I've been working most of the weekend on VR. I have completed the following updates:

The Forum now has sticky threads.

The Forum now has moderated threads.

The problems surrounding new Journal comments should be fixed.

If a member changes their name, and you had them blocked under their old name, they will still be blocked under their new name. This fix will prevent members from being able to get around message blocks by changing their name.

If you have a member blocked, they will not be able to rate or comment on your profile. Previously, blocked members could update their ratings/comments. If you block a member, you now lock in their rating.

The Message Center for VR Mobile is back online.

The changes I have made to the main Forum will eventually migrate to the Society forums.

Updates completed today:

The VR Store now has a field for "Additional Information". When placing an order, you can use this area for any special instructions such as a different "Ship To:" destination.

Security question challenge/response has been added to the reset password page. You can still reset your password by providing your sign up email address.

I have had a lot of inquiries about the Dark Network and the new sites that are coming online.

I plan to launch SciFiSection.com first. I haven't made much progress on it because I have been consumed with VR updates. These updates are necessary before I complete additional Dark Network sites.

The recent Message Center (the new boxes) and Chat updates are examples. These systems needed to be redone so they will be more compatible with future Dark Network sites.

My best projection for the launch of SciFiSection.com is mid-to-late May.

Fixed a small issue today.

In the past, if you logged into www.vampirerave.com, then navigated to a page at vampirerave.com (usually through a link you clicked on somewhere), you'd 'appear' to be logged out.

This was never really a bug, more of a configuration setting. But I've fixed it so that if you log into either vampirerave.com or www.vampirerave.com, then navigate to the other, you're still logged in.

However, you should never log in via the Vampire Rave IP address. You'll still run into cookie issues. Always use the Vampire Rave domain name.

I've updated the rating and blocking code.

If a member has you blocked, you can rate them, but any comment you leave will be stripped.

This rule change allows members to return rate or revise a rating after being blocked.
