No clue what im doing yet

since we leave Fla. then hit Bahamas then St Thomas...are we required to go through U.S. customs before we leave the boat??? I ask cause I had to do it on the last cruise I was on....

Yes. We will have to go through Customs the morning we arrive in St Thomas.

I went diving there in April an it wasn't that great of a place for diving.

If you had crummy diving in st thomas - then you werent diving in the right spot.

On St thomas.. the best places to dive is the south side of the island.. but it is the worst place to swim! The bottom is very very rocky, and to swim, you really need swim shoes. I strongly recommend Bolongo Bay for diving here - or Sapphire Beach.

Howver, the best place to dive is actualy on the island of St John, which is about a 45 minute ferry from fishermans wharf. There is an underwater national park there that is great for diving and snorkeling.
