A MYSTERIOUS sea creature has washed up on the beach of Indonesia, grabbing the interest of locals
The massive carcass was discovered on Tuesday evening on Hulung Brach, in the west of Indonesia’s Serum Island.

Local media reported that when one of the island’s residents, Asrul Tuanakota, 37, first saw the giant blob, he mistook it for a stranded boat.

The giant sea animal, which is a staggering 50ft in length, appears to have been dead for at least three days before its discovery, prompting demands from locals that the Government helps to remove the already decaying carcass.

Locals had initially thought that the mysterious species was an elusive Giant Squid, but experts say that it is more likely to be a whale.
Tests are now underway to confirm the species.

The gruesome remains of species being washed up to shore is far from a rare occurrence, even in England.
Last month, a 25ft shark washed up on rocks on the Cornish coast.

The massive shark, which was spotted floating upside-down at Chapel Point, Mevagissey, is believed to be a basking shark.
Marine experts say that although basking sharks are a common sight in our waters, to see a dead one is a "rare opportunity".

The animal was first spotted by photographer Matthew Facey using a drone to take pictures of the stunning coastline around the area.
