Timeline - Vampiric and Earth History

Welcome to the Vampiric and Human Timeline as developed and maintained by the House of Umbrae Octo. Please investigate all that might interest you and study those things you may have missed in your past explorations. We have made your efforts as easy as possible while still trying to captivate your mind.
Why would we do this you might ask?
The members of Umbrae Octo were reminiscing about things in the past on Vampire Rave one day, when a question came up about when something actually happened. It was then we realized that aside from the news listed on VR itself, there was no actual record of events as they occurred on the rave. As it was already more than 2 years old and still running strong it made sense for someone to begin to try and record these events.
Umbrae Octo’s members decided to take on the task.
With the permission of Cancer and under the guidance of Sabastion, we began gathering information about Vampire Rave and the people and events that had shaped it as it developed. Also to make our history complete, we wanted to fill in with interesting information such as Vampire movies and the major books or plays or papers written through time that affected the worlds view of our favorite subject.
It soon became apparent that to put this in context with the world we live in, a highlight of major historical events in the “human” world would lend a reference point for this. Especially since in the “human” world there are those who chose to act as vampires in the commission of crimes and were convicted and executed for them, even into the 20th century.
We know this is a project that cannot be finished as time never stops and people never stop changing. That includes Vampire Rave, as it will change with the times and the man that guides it.
There is so much to appreciate about the past and the people that struggled to reach the more enlightened times we now enjoy. We owe it to them to remember those events that shaped our views of the subject that brought us here. The Vampire with all the mystery, horror, romance and sheer curiosity that it instills in each and every one of us.

The Goths arrive on the danube river requesting asylum from the Huns. The Roman Emperor Valens permits them to cross the river, and promises them land and grain rations. They got neither, Valens herded the Goths into a temporary holding area surrounded by an armed Roman garrison. There was only enough grain left for the Roman garrison, and so they simply let the Goths starve. The Romans provided a grim alternative: the trade of slaves (often children and young women) for dog meat. When Fritigern, leader of the Goths appealed to Valens for help, he was told that his people would find food and trade in the markets of the distant city of Marcianople. When they finally reached Marcianople's gates, they were barred out by the city's military garrison and denied entry, and to add insult to injury the Romans unsuccessfully tried to assassinate the Goth leaders during a banquet. Open revolt began.

The Greuthungi moved north into Pannonia where they were defeated by western emperor Gratian. The Tervingi under Fritigern moved south and east to Macedonia, where they took "protection money" from towns and cities rather than sacking them outright.

Back to contents2004
7/01 -Vampire Rave is officially launched.
9/30 - A new section called The Top is added along with a permanent link in the Main Menu.
The page lists various user stats. It may take 10 seconds or more to load. There is a lot of number crunching going on before the page can be generated.
10/11 - The Vampire Rave Message Center goes online allowing messages to be sent to any registered Vampire Rave user.
10/12 -The VR Message Center is a success though some limits are to be applied such as messages are automatically deleted after 30 or 60 days to prevent messages from stale users building up.
10/14 - I have totally re-worked how Vampire Rave tracks your site usage. This is a good news, bad news situation.
First, the bad news....
The new system is not compatible with the old, and I am unable to import the old data. So, all of your viewing history has been lost.
The good news…
The new system, a much faster system allowed pages to load much quicker. Also page tracking began with the profiles section only, spreading to include the Vampire Database and The Forum within days.
Another new function added was the Page Tracking box located at the bottom of your edit profile page, though it was soon moved to the bottom of the profiles page, it allows a member to show all profiles as being read thus only new members signing up will show as an unread profile.
10/15 - An exhaustive database update was completed. Cancer figured out a way to restore most people's viewing history. It worked by running a script that looked for every page every user had rated, and then that page would be marked as read for that user...
While it couldn’t restore 100% of the pages viewed, it did restore all the pages (Profile or Vampire Database) rated... Anything not rated, is marked *NEW*.
10/15 - An overhaul to the status system, was completed to include a new algorithm aiming at discouraging repetitive clickers.
Some people moved down in status, but most people either remained the same, or moved up. Those that moved down, and were not being penalized, their statistics did not changed, only what status level is associated with them. The time spent, pages viewed, etc. remained unchanged.
The new system was set to work like this:
30% based on Pages Viewed
50% based on Time Spent
10% based on things rated (profiles and vampire database)
10% based on forum posts
It is because of the last two that some people have moved up.
Cancer was satisfied with this system as being very fair and didn’t feel any further modifications to the status system would be needed.
10/16 -
Under the new system, a person who is inactive will actually loose status over time. This is because 10% of your status is based on how many Profiles and Vampire Database entries you have rated. If you rate them all, then disappear for a year, your status will slowly decrease. This is because new Profiles and Vampire Database entries are being added all the time.
In response to the question of:
When does the change over from hours to days happen?
Response: Once you've been here longer than a week... 168 hours.
10/20 - Major changes were made to how ratings were compiled for users. As a result, ratings fluctuated quite a bit.
Now more emphasis is put upon the status of the rater. The scale is incremental and works like this:
Whelp - 1
Mosquito - 2
Shadow - 3
[etc]
Master Vampire - 29
The Prince - 30
So, as a example, if a Master Vampire rates you an 8, that is the equivalent of twenty-nine 8 ratings. Or if a Shadow rates you 4, that is the equivalent of three 4 ratings.
This was all been done to combat rating fraud, by attempting to discourage people from registering bogus accounts with the sole purpose of boosting their profile rating. It will also give more power to people here, who have achieved higher status.
Under this new system, Whelps have very little rating power. Additionally, it will mean your rating is always in flux. As people who have rated you in the past achieve higher status, your rating is re-calculated.
10/20 -
Forum page tracking is now operational. When you are logged in, the system will keep track of which threads have new replies since your last visit.
The mark all as read box is at the bottom of the main forum page.
11/04 - Some new Administrators were appointed, the newest Master Vampires were Daire and MelodyzChaoticBliss.
An announcement was made by Cancer regarding the main forum:
”Concerning the Forum, as of 8pm EST, I counted over 50 new threads. That's not counting replies to threads. I'm not looking to quash the Forum, but the Administration will be deleting childish or inappropriate posts (and posts that are all caps.”
11/05 - Administrator update. Moreish has been elevated.
11/05 - The database was opened up for additions of poetry by members, to do so they need send it via message to Daire and he will post it in the Vampire Database in the Poetry section. This is for poetry only, not short stories.
A new forum section for all types of written work will be created, then we will move all the poetry/stories/journal threads into the new section
11/25 -An update to the Message Center was completed.
· Message replies are now quoted automatically. As long as you keep hitting reply, the previous message will be appended to the bottom.
· User blocking has been implemented. If you add a user to your block list, they can no longer send you messages (and they get an error message when they try to do so). This also includes biting, as bites are actually messages.
· You can delete all of your messages at once. This isn't exactly multi-delete (selecting only certain messages for deletion), as that was a major revision. I hope this satisfies most of you for the interim.
11/25 -Cancer added a caveat about the new Message Center.
”It's a bad idea to hit reply, and then change the recipient. The system now quotes previous messages automatically. So doing this would append the message you are 'replying' to, to the new user.”
11/28 - There was a bug in the new block user code... I found it and fixed it. Thanks to everyone who reported it. The bug was hard to track down as blocking was working for some users but not others.
11/28 - I’ve spent the day working on several minor aesthetic changes to Vampire Rave. One of which was a small bug in the profile section. I’ll try and explain this as best I can, as most of you don’t understand HTML.
HTML uses a series of tags which tells a browser how to display text. One of these tags is . This tag means line break and it tells the browser to start printing at a new line.
Well, I had line breaks (carriage returns) converting automatically into tags. This was done to make it easier on users who didn’t know HTML. Just hit return in your description and tags would be inserted behind the scenes.
Well, to make a long technical story short, the reverse wasn’t happening. tags weren’t being converted back to line breaks. Now they are.
Some of you may have noticed that the quizzes you’ve been pasting into your profiles weren’t displaying exactly right. They will now. But you may have to go back and copy the original code and paste it into your VR profile.
11/28 -In response to a question about being logged out while the member was editing his profile, Cancer said: That's not a bug, it's a security measure. You will sometimes be logged out automatically. It's done to prevent someone from hijacking your session. If that happened to you and someone took control of your account and changed your password, I think you'd be more upset than the occasional annoyance of automatic log out.
You should always compose major items (forum posts, profile changes, etc) outside of VR... Then copy and paste them in when you are done.
2005
4/10 -3 new Administrators were added to VR: Nicnivian, Crazywolf, and DarknessBound.
8/02 -The Vamp Box is added to VR.
8/27 -The VR Store opens for business.

10/09 -3 New Vampire Rave Administrative positions are announced, they are: Acolyte, Procurator, and Dominar.
10/17 -Jason and Jamie are promoted to Master Vampire status.
12/05 -The VR society system begins with 7 Houses.
2006
1/09 - The VR Manual is added for the members benefit. The VR Manual covers Vampire Rave policy and operation. The answers to the most common Vampire Rave questions can be found there. Vampire Rave operates under precept of Ignorantia legis neminem excusat. Everything you need to know is listed in the VR Manual. If you break VR policy it is assumed that you knew what you were doing was wrong. The VR Manual exists to inform you of VR policy and workings. If you choose to remain ignorant, you choose to do so at your own peril.
1/25 - Deity takes over as Master of The House of Madadh-Alluidh.
2/13 - Blood and Water is added to VR. A comic that appeals to the “dark humor” in all of us.
01/30 - La Rose Noir becomes the first Coven on Vampire Rave with Tammy as Coven Master
3/25 - Jamie resigns as a Vampire Rave Administrator. Batchyld takes over as Master of House Eternal.
03/27 -The Coven of Lux Aeterna begins with Yendor as Coven Master
5/29 -imagesinwords takes over as Master of House Eternal
11/26 - The Forum was updated. Specifically, how The Sandbox operates was updated. This resulted in what was to become known as “The Great Sandbox Cleanup”. All open Sandbox threads that had no postings in 30 days or more were deleted. All RIP and RIA Sandbox threads were deleted.
This resulted in some members loosing huge numbers of postings and thus status levels.
12/07 - Forum guidelines have been slightly revised in regard to the main forum, General Discussion. Now that the Sandbox is the place (and only place) for irrelevant threads, Forum 1 has been expanded to include: Threads about Vampire Rave or of a vampire, gothic, occult, or paranormal nature.
12/18 -Vampire Rave Mobile launches, specifically designed for mobile devices.
2007
1/16 -The position of Sentoran is assigned with 7 Members being appointed: Khayman, Radu, Yendor, Joli, LadyKrystalynDarkstar, Mysique and PhoenicianDream. A Sentoran is a Profile, Portfolio, and Journal Administrator. Sentoran's are appointed by The Prince.
3/11 -VR goes online on it’s new server. Improvements are seen all over the site.
5/11 - The position of Regent was officially launched. Jason, Deity, and Sevenn are named as the first Regents of VampireRave.
5/11- Sabastion takes over as Master of The House of Umbrae Octo.
5/11- ToiletDuc takes over as Master of The House of Madadh-Alluidh.
7/07 -Radu is the first known member of VR to view 1 million pages
7/15 -The House of Umbrae Octo begins recording history
7/20 -Nightgame becomes Head Historian of The House of Umbrae Octo
8/20-Because of cheating all vampirerave games are removed and a new system for gaining favour is introduced based upon time spent and pages viewed this resulted in mass force inductions.
8/21-A partial drive failure occurred and many members lost their current and saved messages. Messages that were lost could not be recovered. Cancer took steps to avoid this from ever occurring again by applying an additional backup layer.
8/23- vampirerave games were restored for all members to play whether they were in a society.
9/06-a quick link to a members house/coven was added to the user menu
10/16 -
Two new VR features are added.
The first is called, Clear Journal. This page will allows members to delete all Journal entries, or all entries in a specified section. This new feature is available to all VR members. The link is in the User Menu, under Journals.
The second addition is Private Journal Entries. If a Premium Member, you can now create private Journal entries. An entry marked private can only be read by you. Not even Vampire Rave Administrators can see private entries.
You can also go back in your Journal and mark existing entries as private.
11/14Each Vampire Rave Society has been given its own private chat room.
11/24 A lot of rumors have been circulating about GothicInvasion.com. Please stop circulating rumors.
GothicInvasion.com is a site I am currently developing. The site is not complete. I expect to finish it sometime between Christmas and the second week of January.
Google indexed the site early, so quite a few people have stumbled upon it.
I would appreciate it if you wouldn't log into the site until I complete it. If I have to, I will shut off access to it. A lot of things are still in development and I shouldn't have to be answering several dozen questions per day about the site.
For some time I have been working on a project called The Dark Network. Please visit that site for a full overview. There's 3 or 4 pages to read, and it will give you a really good idea of the changes that are going on.
I will no longer answer questions about The Dark Network, Gothic Invasion, SciFi Section, or any of the other sites I am developing. As I have said, these things are not done.
There is a very large VR expansion that is in progress. Please be patient.
2008
01/30 - La Rose Noir becomes the first Coven on Vampire Rave to reach it's Second Anniversary
1/11 -
A new VR feature has launched: Journal commenting.
You can now comment on Vampire Rave Journals. You can leave multiple comments on a journal-entry basis.
You cannot rate Journals.
For a full overview of the new commenting system, visit this VR Manual page:
https://www.vampirerave.com/kb.php?chapter=600&page=163
This update is available to all Vampire Rave members (Premium and non-premium).
1/23-A new page has been added that will allow you to easily jump to new comments that are left in your Journal. This update applies to comments left from this point forward
The link is in the User Menu, under Journal, and is called New Journal Comments
4/26-Instant Activation has been added for members who purchase Premium Memberships or Vampire Rave Advertising credits.
In order for your Premium Membership purchases to be Instantly Activated, you must purchase through the new PM Instant Activation page, linked from the Services menu in the left column.
You can still purchase memberships via the VR Store, but it is not recommended that you purchase memberships in this way. Purchasing via the new PM Instant Activation page assures that your membership is activated in the quickest manner possible
8/15-
The Open Link Directory has been rewritten. The section offers a number of new features including: keeping track of who submits links, a list of top links, a list of newest links, and better search functionality.
10/3-There have been some changes made to Vampire Rave’s administrative team.
Jason and Deity have been moved to the position of Consul.
Sahahria has been promoted to Master Vampire and is taking over House Eternal.
Imagesinwords has been moved to the position of Regent.
Joli has been promoted to the position of Regent. She will be in charge of leading the Dominar and Sentoran teams.
10/29-Important operational changes have been made to Vampire Rave's Status System.
The Vampire Rave Status System has been revised. This post contains information on the operational changes that have been made.
The Status Table, Things Rated, has been altered. This table is no longer percentage-based. The table is fixed, like all other Status Tables.
This change should not affect your Status much *today*. The table was made based on the previous percentages. So this portion of you Status should be about the same. However, this also means it is no longer possible to lose a level. With 4 fixed Status Tables, your Status can now only climb upward.
Forum Post count, as a component of Status, has been removed. It has been replaced with Database Submissions. All members are being grandfathered in from the old system. Your previous Post count is now your Database Submission count. This change will not affect your Status *today*. However, your future Status score will be impacted.
The Vampire Database has been totally rewritten. This was one of VR’s oldest systems (4.5+ years). The section has been revised and updated. I am very proud of the new system.
Members can now directly enter listings into the Database. Members can also edit existing listings. When a member adds a new entry, or edits an existing entry, the entry goes into queue. The entry is reviewed by a Procurator. The addition or edit is then either approved or denied by the Procurator. If approved, the member’s Database Submission count increases by one.
I feel this change will greatly help Vampire Rave in the long run. By eliminating Post counts as a component of Status, the Forum should shape up a bit. Dominars won’t have to deal with users who are just trying to inflate their Status. User’s won’t feel slighted when their posts and threads are deleted.
By adding Database Submission count to Status, users will be encouraged to add entries to the Database and help VR’s Database grow. With direct entry, Procurators no longer carry the sole burden of increasing the Database.
A number of help pages have been updated. Please review them:
The VR Manual:
Status System Chapter
Forum Chapter
Vampire Database Chapter
Status System Page
New Database Help page: https://www.vampirerave.com/db/help.php
When you update your Status you’ll see the revisions. You’ll also see two new statistics: Total Ratings and Submission Count.
Please direct any questions you have to the Acolyte team.
11/7- I am proud to announce the completion of SciFi Section. Today is the official launch date. The Dark Network also officially launches today, as there are now 2 fully functional Dark Network sites.
This has been a long time coming. I first conceptualized SciFi Section and The Dark Network over a year-and-a-half ago. I hit numerous snags during development, but it feels good to finally have completed the site.
SciFi Section offers a few things that Vampire Rave doesn’t have:
Groups – Like VR Societies, but a bit different. You can join numerous Groups. You can start a Group at level 12. All Groups have a private chat room, private forum, and the ability to create “custom pages”.
A Science Fiction Database.
An Events section. Members of level 6+ can create and maintain events.
Announcements – You see Announcements posted by any member on YOUR Friends List, EXCEPT when a member on your Friends List has you blocked. Announcements are considered public chatter, so they are viewable by anyone who has added you as a Friend. But if you want to prevent a member from reading your Announcements, add them to your blocked list.
I'm not "done" working on the SciFi Section. Next week I will be doing bug testing and numerous revisions. The Groups and Database sections need some enhancement work.
And if you didn’t know, your VR username and password are your SFS username and password. This will be the case for every Dark Network site.
11/25-Power Punks, the newest Dark Network site, has entered its testing phase. All sections should be working except for the Database and Comic Books sections. I should have these sections finished shortly.
Please report any unusual activity in regard to the site. Overall, it should be working pretty well and bug-free.
http://www.PowerPunks.com
11/30-
I've completed the Groups transfer tool. Group owners can now move their Group between Dark Network sites. The link is in the admin: part of the Groups navigation menu.
12/01-
A change has been made to public Group Forums.
If your Group is public, your Forum will be readable by the public. However, a member may not post to your Forum unless they are a member of the Group.
If you want to 'hide' your Group Forum, you must have a private Group.
12/19-
I am very proud to announce the offical launch of Power Punks. I've completed the final section: Characters.
At this time, all sections of Power Punks should be fully operational. I'll be spending next week testing and working out any final issues. Please report any unusual activity with the site to me immediately.
2009
4/25-Check out the new feature: Browsing History. This page shows how many pages you've viewed and how much time you've spent viewing Dark Network pages over the past month.
The link is also in the User Menu.
5/15-I've added a new section Movie Trailers. I'll be building this section up as time allows. Right now, there's 50 trailers to start.
Also, you'll start to see trailers on movie pages within the Vampire Database. For example, if you go to the Queen of the Damned database entry, you'll now see the movie trailer for that movie listed within the entry.
I will be slowly incorporating more video aspects into Vampire Rave. I hope to add a video version of the site news in the very near future along with a few other enhancements.
5/21-The File Storage limit for Premium Members has been increased. All Premium Members now have 10 megabytes of available space. However, there is still a 5 megabyte upload limit per file (no single file can be greater than 5 megabytes).
6/01-Vampire Rave is 5 years old today.
6/04-Morrigon has been promoted to Master Vampire and leader of House Bella Obscuridad. DarknessBound will be continuing on as a Vampire Rave Consul.
6/04-There has been a major update to the Society System: Alliances.
An Alliance is formed between two or more Societies. When Societies align, their favor and members are combined in the computation of Society Standing.
Members of an Alliance can freely move between aligned Societies. When you are in a Society that is in an Alliance, you can move freely within the other Alliance Societies. You can access their news page, message archive, chat, polls, forum, and private internal pages just as if you were a regular member. You can also post in their forum or vote in their polls.
Here are the general rules of Alliances:
# An Alliance is formed by either a House or Coven Master.
# A House cannot join an Alliance. The House Master can only form an Alliance.
# Houses cannot align.
# If a Coven Master starts an Alliance, they can only have other Coven's as members (since Houses cannot join an Alliance).
# The Master who starts the Alliance is the Alliance Master. Only the Alliance Master can disband an Alliance.
# The Alliance Master, along with their Detail and Assistant Masters, maintain the Alliance page.
# The Alliance page has a crest, banner, and description. It is a singular page for the Alliance. It lists all Societies that belong to the Alliance.
# A Coven can petition an Alliance for entry. The Alliance Master is the only one than can approve or deny a petition.
# A Coven Master can withdraw their Petition or leave an Alliance at any time.
# All Societies retain ownership of their Favor and Members. Internal administration of the Society does not change. An Alliance member cannot hold an administrative position in an aligned Society.
Standing Computation:
Member Societies of the Alliance disappear from the Standings page. There is a singular entry for the Alliance. For Standing computation of the Alliance, all Favor and Members of the Alliance are totaled.
6/16-Updates I completed today:
# I reworked the referral system. I know a few of you have been having trouble with referrals. The new system should be much more stable. In addition, if a new user tries to sign up, and they just come into the site normally (they don't follow a referral link), there is an option to fill in a member name for their referral. They will *not* see this box if they properly followed a referral link.
I also reworked the postcard system to make sure referrals were properly being awarded. Postcards are the best way to refer people to the Dark Network. You can include a custom note, and at the bottom of the postcard is some additional sign up information.
Remember, there is still a contest going for referral points. The first member to obtain 1000 referral points gets a Dark Network Lifetime Premium Membership.
# I updated the Acolyte test to reflect recent changes to Vampire Rave's Society System. I also updated the VR Manual.
# I unlocked hundreds of locked member names. These were old members who self-deleted. If they never posted to the forum, their name was unlocked.
6/18-New feature launched: Dashboard.
You'll find the Dashboard link just above where your Message Center link is. The Dashboard displays a bunch of information for you, all on one page. You'll find how long you've been on the site today, a summary of messages in your Message Center, your online friends, and more.
The Dashboard also allows you to set your kismet. Your kismet can be up to 70 characters and is displayed on your Profile and in some friend lists (on the Dashboard, for example).
Also, the Dashboard shows the last 3 members who have visited your Profile, and the last 3 ratings and comments you've received. This information is available to all members..
6/22-The Status System has been majorly overhauled. The old 30 level system is gone. It has been replaced with a system that has infinite levels.
All Dark Network members have had their status adjusted based on the new criteria.
A lot has changed. In addition to the new levels, the power required to do various things on Dark Network sites has changed as well.
I still have more work to do, but I've completed most of the Status System support pages. I suggest you read the Status System Chapter of the VR Manual. The chapter has been totally rewritten. The chapter also links to other important Status System pages such as the new Status Powers.
I still need to complete the new Status Definitions and Status Tables. But other than that, most everything is done. If you'd like to see the new 100 level structure and the number of members at each level, click here.
The Who's Online page also shows new Status Level information, as do all Profile pages.
Everyone's levels have shifted. If you'd like an approximate idea of how your new level relates to your old, use this formula:
Old Status = (New Status * 28) / 100
For example, if your new Status is 65:
Old Status = (65 * 28) / 100
Old Status = 18.2
This tells you that if you're now level 65, under the old system you'd have been about level 18.2. If your old level was 15, you know you're now ranking higher under the new system.
You can work this formula the other way too. Let's say under the old system you were level 20. You want to know what level that is equivalent to under the new system:
20 = (New Status * 28) / 100
2000 = (New Status * 28)
71.42 = New Status
So if you were level 20 under the old system, and you're now level 75, you're ranking higher. Old level 20 equals new level 71.42.
Most people are ranking higher. Some are ranking lower. That's just the way it goes with these types of updates.
Coven Masters:
If you have lost your position of Sire you don't have anything to worry about. No Covens will be disbanded on these grounds.
Potential New Coven Masters:
You must be a Sire under the new system before you can petition, no matter what your old level was.
6/24-A balancing change has been made to status computation. A new penalty has been added: Overblock.
If you block more than 25 people you are assessed this penalty.
7/03-New feature launched: Beloved Threads.
You can now mark threads as Beloved. When you do this, the thread is highlighted and stands out on the main forum page. Additionally, you have a page called Beloved Threads that lists all the threads you've marked as Beloved.
The link to your Beloved Threads page is in your User Menu, just below the link to the Message Center. Using this feature will make it easier for you to follow specific threads. You can mark a thread as Beloved and keep an eye on it.
This feature works for all Forums, just not the public forums. You can mark Society or Group Forum threads as Beloved.
For more information, search the VR Manual for Beloved Threads.
2010
4/01/10- Nightgame is promoted to Master Vampire and House Master of Umbrae Octo.
4/02/10- There's a new site feature: Blast!
A Blast is kind of like an IM popup. You can Blast anyone on the site, and they'll get a little popup box with your message. There are a few guidelines/restrictions to Blasting:
# Blasts are limited to 255 characters or less. HTML is not allowed in a Blast.
# Blasts auto expire after 10 minutes. If you blast someone and they're not online, they most likely won't get the message.
# Admins can Blast the entire site. This is a feature I've wanted for a while. For example, let's say I'm getting ready to do a server reboot. Instead of sending a system message, I can just Blast the site and all online users will get the message.
# Premium Members can turn Blasting off. If off, they will not receive Blasts. They will however receive Admin site Blasts.
# Free members cannot turn Blasting off.
# If you have a member blocked, they cannot Blast you.
The link to send a Blast varies based on what layout you're using. If you're using VR Classic, the link is just below the Message Center. With the Epicene and Cimmerian layouts, they link is in the Personal drop down. For Bantam and Oracle layouts, the link is in the Personal menu. A link can also be found under Chat in the Site Map. I think that's about it. Let an Acolyte know if you experience any problems.
For further information you can visit the main forum for the post concerning blasts.
