They danced at noon, they danced at night,
They danced, all people you could find.
It was the week of Blooming Spring,
That time all gather in a ring.
Invited neighbors from anear,
Invited neighbors from afar,
Invited all who'll come to dance,
To give new love a thriving chance.
Garlands of flowers, ribbons, bells,
The village filled with fragrant smells,
All women dressed like brides in red,
All men - in black, like fathers said.
But right at peak of festive rites,
The stranger entered people's sights.
Dressed like a groom, with white carnation,
He brought his twist into this nation.
"Let's Dance!" - he said, and raised his arms,
Entrapping all into his charms.
His grin and eyes, so full of cat,
Won't let them rest from dancing yet.
They danced at noon, they danced at night,
They danced, all people you could find.
It was the week of Dancing Dead,
And past six days not over yet...
He stalked the streets in watchful search,
He paid a visit to the church,
He looked below, he looked above,
He found a person to betroth.
In distant window, lost in tears,
Young maiden shielded from her fears.
Unlike all else, she wouldn't dance.
Her love has never had a chance.
He looked at her across the street.
His eyes and grin with death alit.
His tail was twitching, but unsure.
He whispered: "Grow a little more..."
And though he stood so far away,
She heard the words he had to say.
The heavy chains of time and doom,
Fell on her shoulders, black with gloom.
Four decades passed, four decades flown,
She lived amongst the dead, alone.
The village turned into mass grave,
She prayed for spirits to be saved.
He came at noon, he came at night,
She ran, for him she couldn't fight.
It was the week the cat returned.
And time to hide as she has learned.
"Don't run away from me, my love!" -
The Catman sang, - "You're my betrothed!"
The song of life will stop one day,
And you'll come out to me to play!
Her hair was getting ashen gray,
Years passed, but in her fears she stayed,
Awaiting doom, entrapped in curse,
No life could ever have been worse...
The Cursed Mirror

In the old and moldy town,
Where the water's running black,
Stood a single white-walled house
Which nobody went to check.
Up the heavy stony staircase,
To the right of wooden doors,
Gleamed an ancient broken mirror,
With a fate you can't find worse.
Yet one soul would pay a visit,
She alone would risk her neck...
Nothing bad would ever happen,
So she'd leave and then come back.
In the mirror lived a shadow.
Black and shapeless - simply sad.
Our lady made a friendship
With the one whom you'd call bad.
Every time they spoke, the town
Would become a bit alive,
They remembered times together,
Loudly laughed and loudly cried.
Darkened days and brightened midnights,
Flew like clouds in the sky,
And one day the lonely shadow,
Just refused to say "Goodbye"...
"Stay with me" - it faintly whispered,
"Sorry, friend" - she said - "I can't".
"In this case" - the ghost responded,
"I will still do what I've meant".
Web of shattered, dark reflections,
Took her in and kept inside,
No one knows what truly happened,
But this time she really cried.
Darkness stung from all directions,
In the timeless mirror tomb,
Days would pass like recollections,
In this hellish lifeless womb.
No more tears would fill her eyelids,
No more thoughts would strike her mind,
No more feelings moved her heart strings,
Nothing more was left inside.
"You're my Masterpiece!.." - said shadow.
"I achieved what I desired.
Now it's you who'll keep the promise,
Now it's you who'll stay inside!"
And before she could have stopped it,
Shadow left her all alone,
Cursed with dark and chilly promise,
To convert and to atone.
In the old and moldy town,
Where the water's running black,
Stood a single white-walled house
Which nobody went to check...
