I'm a bit late posting these.
Her birthday was December 18. ;)
And this is from a week later...to the day. Christmas!
I'm slightly...overwhelmed and shocked at the same time.
If you remember, I wrote a few days ago that I'd been in contact with my Aunt J after 13 years of no contact. Well..there's more.
Just yesterday I received an email from my Tante J (so named to try to differentiate the two, because my mother's parents were very fond of the letter J) and she was thrilled to hear that I wanted contact with the rest of the family. She and Aunt J let me know that they've been trying to find me as long or longer than I've been trying to find them again.
She's forwarded my email to some of the cousins, and I have a feeling I'll be getting more emails as time goes on.
It's a strange feeling knowing that I have family out there that loves me, besides that I've claimed for myself, because for so long I've felt unloved and unlovable by "blood" relatives. But a good feeling, nonetheless.
I'm a horrible patient when I'm sick.
I have the flu. Ugh. Let's hope I can start keeping solid stuff down soon.
just got off the phone from an hour and a half long call with my Aunt J...whom I haven't seen or spoken to in 13 years.
Qwest wants me to pay an additional $4 to pay off a .90 bill. WTF!
I paid off the final balance in good faith, and now they want more money from me???
They say I can't pay it online (which is free) or through chat, which is cheaper than over the phone.
Bastards.
Kidlet's feeling a little better now, holding down some Pedialyte. (Currently napping, actually, something she's had a bit of trouble with since yesterday.)
We're going to do the Pedialyte for 6 hours without throwing up, and then we can get her back on her usual feeding schedule.
Hubby's starting to come down with whatever bug Bug caught though, so I'm bulking up on OJ in order to avoid catching it myself.
I'm now reconnected to the world of texting. Yay. Sorta.
It was freeing not having to worry about having a cell phone. I already knew where the hubby was, cuz we were both at home and such. And we could just TALK to each other instead of texting.
We lowered our plan to the lowest one available, because we barely used quite a few of the features in the plan we had before.
Sometimes technology feels more like a chain round one's neck than a helpful tool.
Did anyone miss me? Anyone at all?
Feels so strange not having had internet in several months. But we've budgeted enough from our refund to pay in advance a few months, while continuing the job searches.
Macy's ended January 21st, so I've been looking since then. Here's to hoping SOMETHING turns up that will put us back on our feet soon.
