Did you know that the blind can dream? Yes, blindness doesn't alter the ability to dream at night. Although, it depends on what you are dreaming of, I guess and how exactly you came about being blind. For example, if you were blinded after birth, you will see real items and people in your dreams, whereas, if you were blind at birth, you will dream of flashes of light and color, and other senses like touch will seem more vivid and real.
I know this because I experienced it. I woke up screaming almost every night from a dark nightmare, only to realize, once again, that I could never escape the darkness.
This is all extremely important for you to know. There is much more you must know, but the time isn't right. You have to know the whole story from the beginning.
