Venus Nocturne
By Dan Shaurette
On August 29, 2005
(For Daermon's Poetry Contest in Chatters thread #69)
There once was a lady
With silky red hair
Who prepared her bed
Of satin with care.
She lays in her bed
In a sensual repose
Awaiting her lover's
Heated rapturous throes.
In a mist without warning
He curls through the air
To caress her flesh reacting
To his presence there.
Together they tumble
In their passionate embrace
When he leaves she will find
Fresh tears on his face.
When she wakes she will notice
With unexpected winsome
Her neck holds the traces
Of her lifeblood so crimson.
