The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

This one is pretty old, but I will re-post this on this particular forum.



A friend once asked me if I could help him with something. After a bit of prodding and cajoling, He revealed to me that he had taken interest in a girl, but she had not seemed to notice him. He asked me if it was possible to fall in love with a girl at first sight. The following conversation took place:



"Yo man, do you really think it is possible to fall in love? I mean, I am crazy about her."



"What do you mean, fall in love? The term 'Falling in Love' is a fallacy. Humans are highly sociable creatures but sometimes they have no idea how to express feelings or emotions, so they all come up with a way of making it sound better than it already is. PLUS, Love is not just a necessity. It's an emotion. Emotions can be suppressed, but as human beings, we need social contact to survive. It's scientifically proven. Then you need to figure, is this a need or a want? Needs and Wants are easily confused. So tell me a bit more of this girl."



"Well, she has blond hair, blue eyes...."



"Long Walks on the beach?"



"What?"



"Nothing, continue."



"and she likes to go camping, do out-doorsy stuff, and the like."





"And?"



"And What?"



"Are You kidding me? I thought you said you loved this girl. Pretty obvious that you are smitten with her and whatever ideas you have, but let me give you a heads-up: Looks are a dime a dozen. That works for both guys and girls. But here's the thing; we can't help being attracted to each other. I'm serious. We all look for who we think is best to propagate the species with because we want our ideal children to be our version of 'Perfection'."



"What has that got to do with anything?"



"Pretty much everything if you cannot even tell me why you 'Love' this girl."



"God, WHY did I ask you to help?"



"I dunno, why?"



"Whatever man."



He Walked out. Two days later he was back and apologized to me for not listening; apparently the girl did not have any interest in him whatsoever. One week later, he attempted suicide.



This just goes to show that you never truly know what you need or want, and those who surround themselves with fallacies and false imagery (such as the concept of "falling in love") will get them into trouble, or worse. Love is not a toy- it is a necessity of human survival. But we cannot mistake our emotions of lust or blindness for the real thing.

So yeah, My first time and all being in a vampire website, and I love it (woot!) but I just have no idea what is really....expected of me. I mean, I read the rules and all, but what about being a vampire? Will I be expected to drink blood? I have tasted it before, and it was good, but usually it was mine whenever I sliced the hell out of my fingers while on the job. And Covens? Mentors? This is all so new compared to what little I know of vampires in general. I expect that I will learn much, but from who or how, that is beyond me.

You don't have to be a vampire to be on the site. You're expected to be courteous, not cause too much mayhem, and above all, BE YOURSELF!

A mentor helps your level (if you haven't already, check out the VR manual and status system on the left hand menu) There's a lot of different types of people, cultures, and lifeforbidden here. It's all accepted.

Covens CAN AND WILL force induct you. Check getting started at the bottom left menu. This doesn't happen until level twenty, but it will happen quickly, so be ready. If you need any help, talk to BLOODLIFE (capitalization does matter) or myself, and we'll help you ^^
