Sleep lasting forever,
Never to see the light of day,
Something mysteriously clever,
To keep you were you lay,
Terrifyingly it darkens rooms,
Coming to envelope the light,
Three tell stories in their looms,
Turning morn into eternal night,
It comes with the passing of time,
It's claws on your back,
It came of a natural crime,
It makes up for what we lack,
The sweet bliss that it brings,
Though people mourn those lost,
Were we hear that death sings,
This is it no matter the cost,
It takes those it yurns,
In a harsh loving way,
Death's belly always churns,
Taking more away,
We know not where we go,
For it has no end,
A corpse eaten by a crow,
This is death's trend,
Those that have died,
None come back it seems,
Maybe they have tried,
But only in our dreams,
So it is no friend,
Or this is what I'm told,
For it is the end,
Of a story very old.
