Today, I stepped into a community meeting at the last minute. I believe I was a bit harsh, frustrated, and forward when it came to the concerns of my granddaughter's treatment. I gave this group of individuals in this community a warning, people have been watching. We are back at square one, which isn't acceptable. Neither is the coordination and treatment plan. I could see the heads of these agencies scrambling to talk with their superiors, as we are in a web meeting.
This state is so backwards, it needs to be overhauled when it comes to mental health and support services. The agencies for people who have medical and psychological challenges are in shambles. All I can say, this town seems to be oppressed and without a lack of support.
Time to spotlight this dysfunctional bureaucratic system.
I almost forgot what it feels like to be an advocate.
