To feed off of souls is considered a most vile act indeed. Most of those who begin feeding on souls become twisted and warped. They become ravenous and continue feeding until there is naught left.
Feeding off of souls can grant immeasurable power. Such power is enticing and can easily corrupt oneself. As oneself's power grows, so too does the risk of being driven by a hunger for more power.
Some are greedy, and simply tear their preys' souls right out of their bodies. Whereas others prefer to slowly leech off their preys' souls. Giving a soul time to recover allows oneself to draw far more energy than simply devouring the soul. However, having one's soul leeched continuously can leave terrible scars, both spiritually and mentally. This allows for a soul to become corrupt, eventually corrupting the host and even those that feed off of it.
Within me, a dark hunger resides;
It grows steadily...
Not a hunger for flesh,
But something more sinister.
Nearly insatiable,
I can no longer control it...
As I stagger through the streets
Faintly lit by the weak glow of flames,
I pick out my next victim
And begin my hunt from the shadows.
Driven only by a primitive instinct,
I circle my prey endlessly,
Instilling the fear of imminent death.
They know I am there.
With fear slowly paralyzing them
This becomes merely a game.
My approach is quick and without warning
My prey is now within my clutch
I reach into them, tearing away,
Ripping out their very essence...
A human body is a very fragile thing.
It can be torn and broken so effortlessly.
The human mind is broken just as easily,
Meant to protect one's soul
But how could they ever defend themselves
Againt a creature such as me?
